Sokha led the new fellahin back within the throne room.

There, before the pharaoh, the nebet bowed low, expecting @Bahiti would know to do the same.

Pharaoh, She purred with that same familiar tone of warmth and purity. I bring your newest offering before you once more.

Her part done, Sokha took a small step back, allowing @Ramesses to look upon his fellahin.
As before as it was ever, Bahiti knew their place. The night jewel immediately lowered themselves, a little thunk coming from where their forehead met the stone.

Now, without travel clinging to their skin, their jet fur glowed with the streaks of blue-purples and the reflections of light around them, every inch of them just as inky as the rest. Fortune glittered before the court, ready to ring in good luck.
combed and coiffed and pampered, fed on finery for even in the worst times had akashingo proven itself a place of excess!
the nebet sokha announced she and the nightstone. ramesses smiled at the both of them, favoring the elegant lady with a lingering look of approval. "you have worked a wonder indeed."
now his lapis eyes fell to the luck-gift. "you may rise, bahiti."
Pharaoh praised her work.

Sokha bowed her head humbly. Only the best work, as you deserve, divine one.

Silent again. This was his place to speak, and hers to watch and listen.
The Pharaoh bade them to stand, so they did, glittering midnight just for him to see. Gold-mint eyes watched through the heavy lashes, tail giving a faint swirl at their ankles.

They did not speak. They did not wish to, not in that moment.
bahiti had indeed captured their lord's eye. pharaoh moved his attention reluctantly to sokha, though her face too was a fine feast for his gaze. "are they suitable to be kept in a royal household, suppose in the retinue of little toula?" he asked of the noblewoman.
soon, said his lapis eyes to the gift who waited upon him so patiently.
Pharaoh begged a question of her.

She would speak truth, and nothing but. I know not of what you desire for the princess' retinue, but I can say Bahiti does seem a pleasant individual and suitable to serve.

Though, they had not been tested. Sokha wondered how they would fare placed in the care of someone so young and fragile.
Im terrible this took forever forgive me

They preened beneath the attention, never letting their goldmint eyes leave Ramesses. It did not surprise them that they were to be placed in a royal retinue, it was, to them at the least, a given.

They half listened to Sokha, gold glowing in the low light.
gonna fade this! <3

ramesses smiled.
bahiti glowed like dark fire.
in the end, he sent them both away; he would call for his luck-gift another and more auspicious time.
