Occurred around January 6th/7th I just suck at keeping up with everyone.

Kilgitsuk did as he said he would: he ventured towards the mountains and to the rise of trees that might serve as shelter to the bandits and the rogues, and he sought any scents there that might prove his theory correct. He found what could've been an old camp, but it very well could've been a hideaway for a badger or any other prey creature beyond what he sought. It was nothing ultimately definitive.
It was a good sign that he found no trace of the wolves, though. At the very least it meant the creek would be safe for a while yet. Perhaps the intruders had gone off to die? If they were smart they would have hunkered down somewhere to treat their wounds - and that could've been here, or any of the other forested patches away from the heavy snows - and if Akavir was lucky, they'd have perished in the end.
The man turned from the ridge after another pass through, and began his descent to the valley. He wanted to return home to the riverside to make his final report.
Andr returned to the Emberbood on a nearly healed paw. The injury itself had closed and the scab had fallen off, but the feeling of it was still beneath what Andr had hoped for. Hunting on a ground he was somewhat familiar with made him more comfortable. His injury would be less of a hindrance here he thought. And most of the game was small and nonthreatening.

Last he had visited the tree had been engulfed in the colors of flame. Now their branches were barren and snow coated the ground. Less scenic but the snow was a blank canvas painted on with various footprint markings. He slowly trailed the path of a rabbit, hoping to find its burrow.
