The feline's paws glided gently over the grass as he walked, golden eyes scanning the path in front of him with a look of boredom. He knew a wolf pack was here, nearby, and honestly, he didn't really care if any of their wolves caught him. It would take a pack of strong, healthy, warrior wolves to take him down. The strong scent of wolves blasted against him, and he paused for a moment and inhaled. It was a strong pack, with a good amount of healthy wolves and the borders were patrolled constantly, he knew, by how strong the scent markers were. For a moment, the cat debated whether or not to enter the territory, then he stepped through. He would hunt and feast on the prey of these rich lands, and if he felt that he should continue his travels, he would continue his travels. No wolf was going to disturb him.

Jarek padded into the territory and sniffed the air once more, before choosing a specific direction to walk, wondering secretly if there were any wolves to terrorise, or would they be brave and stand up, one to one, with him? If that happened, he would be deep in awe with the wolf. Gleaming claws extended from their sheath before withdrawing again, it was a bad habit for him, whenever he was deep in thought. He was thinking about his family and how they were doing, cougars were solitary animals, yes, but he still missed his little brother when they play fought together. But they had gone on their own paths now, and probably would never meet again. Though Jarek made sure Vulcan's hunting and fighting abilities were up to standard, and his speaking skills efficient, before he deemed him worthy to leave.

Flash was patrolling the borders for his first time since he was off probatio. Hoping everything would go smoothly, he continued as he marked the scent line little by little. Noctisardor Bypass was full of migrating herds of elk and deer and if he could find any of them by luck, he could even earn that gamekeeper trade he was keen on earning to impress the alpha.

The newly made roman padded along the scent trail, basking in the territory of his patron, Apollo. Thanking the sun god for making today a sunny day, the sun-touched wolf continued on his way. Stopping every once in a while to hunt a stray critter, he had a small drink from a puddle before a new scent waffled towards him.

Flash padded closer to the source, stiffing as the recognise the scent. Cougar... He has seen a cougar rip apart one of the wolves from his old pack before. He did not want to see another rip open another wolf from his new one. He padded closer, careful not to make any noise to disturb it in anyways. He knew he could take on a cougar, not a fully grown one. But at least he would score his claws over it's pelt.

Flash hid behind a tree, carefully blending in with the golden shadows. While Flash debated whenever to go a distance then howl for the others, or talk first then attack if not friendly, he surveyed the cougar quickly. It was strong and muscular, not going to be easily beaten. His roman side battled with his Flash side inside of him.

Go and howl for the others. It's dangerousHis Flash side whined. No, go talk to it. If it means trouble, attack then escape when the cougar is wounded to warn the others! His roman side countered. Flash tried not to sigh as his mind continued to battle. Deciding to follow the roman side of himself, he carefully walked out from behind the tree and padded closer, trying his best not to snarl.

"Hello, what is your business here?" He asked, still fidgeting. But if he got in a fight with the cougar without reason, he was surely going to come out with wounds. If the cougar was just passing by and had accidentally step through the scent line, then he could just guide it out and tell it not to come back here.

That's probably not it, it's a cougar, it can obviously scent the scent marks. The logical side of his mind piped up. Flash mentally sighed. He was already in so much thoughts today. He was hoping patrolling could clear his mind. But like always, the fates always seem to decide to put a road block in his way. He could only hope that he could come out of this unscathed, though it was nearly impossible.

Were these lands not as well protected as he thought they were? Why then, had he hesitated at the 'borders' of this pack. But that idea was crossed out a moment later when a wolf appeared out of the trees, it was averaged sized but not especially brawny. Built for speed rather than strength. It seemed he was better suited to be a hunter than a warrior, but you never knew with these wolves. A large muscular male wolf could be an excellent hunter but a bad fighter and a tall, lithe one could be a bad hunter but a brilliant fighter. And their pack ways, so much more complicated than the simple solitary ways of a cougar, pack lands and territories, rankings, why bother?

"Hello, what is your business here?" the wolf asked, fidgeting. So this one wanted a confrontation, eh? He would get one, and then he would die. "Greetings to you too," he spoke calmly. eyes of liquid gold locking with vibrant green ones. I am here to hunt and feast while the weather is still warm, I trust you shall be hospitable? he smirked at the last sentence, wondering what would be this wolf's reaction.

Flash is very prepared to get a bunch of scars

"Greetings to you too,"the cougar spoke. Flash was surprised, he was expecting a snarl or a pounce. Either the cougar actually has manners, which was unlikely, or the cougar was toying around.I am here to hunt and feast while the weather is still warm, I trust you shall be hospitable? Second choice, Flash thought as the cougar smirked, It's toying around.

"We are hospitable, Flash said, two can play this game, it was only a matter of who would give up and pounce first "But only to our own kind He didn't smirk, nor had any smugness on his face, as that was the truth. "Now, I do suggest you leave. We don't want anybody finding out you being here now do we? It's getting late and I must be going.

Flash wasn't sure what game the cougar was playing. Maybe his words will make the cougar's temper flare and Flash would find himself attacked. He certainly couldn't battle with a cougar for long. It would take a pack. But even thought he was very unlikely to come out of this unmarred, Flash knew he couldn't let such a creature prowl in their borders without doing anything.
