Check in But you needn't answer if you don't want too.

Rodyn moved through the newly minted pack lands. He wanted to check in with each of their new members. Make sure everyone was okay, and doing well. Fix any issues there maybe. This was what a new leader did right? Kukutux had often checked in with all of them at random times.

Today his search was for the happy girl @Iiana he had met and hunted with. It would be nice to see how she was doing. He had heard her howl and smelled her on their borders. Around his shoulders he carried the deer skin from their encounter. He had scraped it and pulled the meat from it and it would be for her wherever she put her home or ulaq.
so sorry for all the delay; just been busy with college and commission work. ik i dont have to answer but i like to respond to rps still LOL
iiana had settled herself nicely on the grass, a little distance away from the rest mostly so she could sneak in some sleep. eyes closed until her ears perked at the sound of steps lumbering towards her. the fae stuck her head out from the field and smiled at the familiar wolf. rodyn! she greeted, legs pushing her up to her fullest height and trotting the rest of the way there. green eyes darted towards the deerskin, and practically lit up as she realized why the wolf had come to visit. this is the bed of deerskin, right? she asked, just to be polite and make sure.
No need to apologize. I can wait <3 College is rough

He nodded his head and placed it near her paws. I scraped it and dried it. So it should be good for you to put wherever you sleep.

A shy smile lit up his face for a moment. He didn't know this wolf well yet, but he liked her. She was kind. He felt she could be a good friend, like the others he surrounded himself with and he was certain @Samani would like her too.

Are you settling in okay?
by instinct, the first part of iiana to touch the deerskin was her nose, before dragging it closer to herself. she was a little more entertained by the thing than she expected it. she pressed a paw, testing it, and it felt.. odd, but nice. by this point she was just about to settle down into the deerskin but remembered it'd probably unpolite.

oh, of course! i'm not sure what the other wolves are like, but it's nice here. you picked a lovely spot to make camp.
Rodyn smiled kindly at her perusal of the deer skin. She seemed to like it that was good. It made him happy to help where he could.

Samani my bride to be is the one that picked it. She likes the ocean I like the forest so we went with the middle.

He tilted his head. I can help you build a den if you'd like.
ah your mate. i think you've mentioned her before. she recalled the name, believing he may had mentioned her in their last conversation; did he? she couldn't remember entirely but she just assuemd she was right.

she perked up at the offer. a den, right.. where you'd assume where one would put the deerskin in the first place. oh! thank you.. i'm not sure where to set up den, so.. i've just been napping here in the grass.. hope you don't mind the indents in the grass because of that.
Rodyn nodded his head and gave a little smile, sheepish and shy. I probably did. I tend to talk about he a lot. If I ever talk too much, please don't be afraid to ask me to stop.

Were he a human, he'd have rubbed a hand along his neck.

She seemed excited at the prospect of having a place to call her own. He nodded. I don't mind at all and if you prefer the outside, we can try and find a little more sheltered outside place, or we can dig a den. Whichever would make you more comfortable.
a den would be nice. less likely for carrion to get curious and peck at it. she could imagine, birds circling her densite like it was a marker for herself whenever returning back to camp.. the endless croaks and caws of crows.. it gave her a headache just thinking about it. a den would be better, absolutely.

no worries about talking about your mate; you clearly care for her. there's no shame in that! she scoffed, reprimanding him if only slightly but she wasn't being super serious.

she picked up the bedding between her canines and iiana set out to find the perfect spot to claim her own, tail lashing in excitement that she refused to contain.
A surprised laugh left Rodyn's maw, but he smiled and nodded. We wouldn't want that.

Why would carrion crows be after the girl, unless she planned to do a lot of hunting? But well he could help her in this way.

Rodyn smiled. I do care a lot. She's amazing to me. I hope I make her as happy as she makes me.

Rodyn trotted after the she wolf. A happy stride in his gait. It was nice to work with future friends or so he hoped. He liked friends.
on second thought, it probably wasn't likely the carrion birds would find her precious bedding, the smell of meat was long gone, and would most likely just end up getting replaced by her own; maybe she just didn't want anyone else touching her deerskin. she smiled at rodyn's laughter though, glad it at least amused the other wolf.
i hope so, but you probably do. iiana's words were muffled by her clenched jaws on the bed. she settled on a spot on the lower end of the plateau. she craned her head back before plopping the bed. right here! its the closest to the shore.. i've been so close to an ocean before, but the scent is really nice.
Rodyn had been sure to make sure all the meat was gone. Then he had allowed it to dry in the sun for as long as he could, making sure to keep it far away from the wet sand until it was ready to be given.

Rodyn eyed the spot and gave a soft nod. Then with large paws and quick movements, he began to dig into the side of the plateau for her. She was up high enough that he wasn't worried of flooding and low enough that if there were any predators they wouldn't see her. THe sea would wake her in the morning and lull her to sleep at night.
once the other had begun to dig, iiana pitched in, having stolen a glance at the sun shining off the ocean surface. a truly gorgeous sight indeed.

her tail lashed and the fae began to dug just so she could be able to admire the view later in the safety and comfort of this den.
He helped where he could. He widened where she couldn't used his strength and stockiness to her advantage to get a place dug nicely for her. Though he spoke as he worked.

Have you seen the ocean before? This is only my 2nd time really being near it. But Samani loves the ocean.
she gave a grunt before glancing at rodyn. the fae's brow raised as she processed the question before shaking her head. never so up close. it smells really nice! i mainly traveled through fields and forests to get here.. i only saw oceans in passing, but never visited.
now she finally understood what she was missing out on this whole time. the soft sand, the cool breeze, the lapping of the tides as the sun sets and colors the sky beautiful shades iiana only could imagine in her dreams. it was a beauty that until now she never appreciated.
Rodyn wasn't sure if the sea smelled nice. it did sometimes. But it could also smell vile, especially if something died near it or in it. But he did like the salt tang to the air, and the way it always seemed to be cooler here.

Rodyn would be lying if he said he didn't like the sunrises and the sunsets in their new home. There was just something to be said about such beautiful things.

I'm glad you got to see it and now can live near it.

He pressed down on the dirt, pressing it into a harder compact area so she could move freely and it wouldn't crumble, doing the same to the walls as they dug. He wouldn't risk it falling in on her.
iiana knew nothing of that though; eventually she might, but for now she remained as enamored with the sight as would a puppy seeing the world outside of the comfort of their shelter.

iiana noticed what the other was doing and so copied his movements, assisting where she could in patting it all. soon enough, there was a clear path in the den and with this, iiana stepped back out to snatch the deerhide. her russet muzzle clenched onto the dried skin as she made quick but strong tugs to drag it inside. she laid it flat at the very end of the den, patting the area down a little more to make it just slightly concave- just how she liked it.

with that, she decided to give it a test. padding around before finally plopping her body, her chin rested at the top of the dip she'd made and gazed up at rodyn with a lazy smile.
thanks for the help.. again she gave a slight snicker as the chocolate brown wolf realized how much assistance she was getting from the other. then again, that's what pack leaders are for no?
Rodyn watched with silent amusement as she took her deer skin and put it to the back of the den. She seemed to like her gift and for that he was glad.

He shifted and patted a few more spot to make it flatten and then returned her small smile.

You're welcome of course. I'll let you to rest. If you need anything, please come speak to Samani or I. Rest well.
ill archive after my last response!
iiana gave a firm nod before resting her head back onto the comfort of the deerskin. suddenly, a warm feeling swept over her body; home. this felt truly like home. i'll see you later, rodyn. she gave a final response before the weight of her eyes became too unbearable, thus closed them.
