If Fennec wasn’t okay before, she certainly wasn’t now.  But that wasn’t true.  She was also totally fine - because she’d expected this, right?  It made sense.  She’d fucked up, just like she fucked everything up, and now just like all of those times there was no going back.  She’d run out of passes and had no one to blame but herself.

@Phox had been there when she’d met her younger siblings and, at some point in the conversation, the news of Fig had come up.  A casual mention, but one that set off a silent nuke in Fennec’s current emotional state.

It had been a year.  She would have given anything to have him there… and he knew where she was.  But he didn’t come.  Obviously he hated her, just like she’d known he would, and that meant like so many other relationships the bridge was burned to ash.  There was no point in hoping he’d change his mind.  (Not like she deserved any better.)

Fennec prodded the bird she’d picked out for lunch, but her stomach wasn’t up for it, and after a few minutes she turned and walked away to leave it untouched.  She could eat later.  She wasn’t sure what she was doing now, but it needed to be something stupid.  Something that required no thinking about anyone else, a whole lot of thinking about it, and a pretty good chance she wouldn’t run into anyone.

Without a word, she turned and started making her way towards the western side of the mountain.  She hadn’t explored as much of it yet, and once she got down it she could keep going.  Maybe she could find something dangerous to heckle.

It had been too damn long since she’d had a proper fight.

assumptions!!! Lemme know if this doesn’t make sense, I just assumed if they visited it would come up at some point XD
