for kukumama & kiddos. <3

Sialuk excused herself from @Elentari for a time, wishing to spend some time with anaa and her youngest children. She worried of the missing Sakhmet and the shadow that wore the face of braataa. In the quiet of the ulaq, she found her mother and the children: @Massaraq, @Kassuq, @Arrluk, and @Galana. They had been on this earth for a full turn of the moon, and they grew quickly with the passing of time. Sialuk admired them briefly before turning to @Kukutux.

Sakhmet is gone, she said, settling into a prone position, her brow laced with concern. She did not think her mother’s wife would do this without reason, and it could not have been easy. Sialuk thought of the villages she had visited where men and women warmed one another’s beds freely, as Moonspear did. Would the hurt be less with Aiolos here?
skippable and powerplayable! He’s just gonna sit there unless dragged into puppy mischief

Kassuq had proven to be a mildly irritable and lonesome child, often playing games by himself until the game the other children played interested him more. And all the while, other wolves came and went.

They smelled like mother did. He wasn’t too worried about it, but he did give them a little stink eye, for the trouble.

Today, a wolf came who smelled…confusing. Like mother, but not.

Kassuq, holding a small stick in his tiny jaws and lying on his stomach a small distance away, resolved to stay away. It could be infectious.
Massaraq noted the incoming stranger with curiosity. Leaving his brother's side he approached, eyes wide and open and curious. Sakhmet is gone. What did that mean? How could a wolf be gone? His mother was sometimes gone at times but she always came back, his father too. He peered between this wolf and his anaa, feeling a moment of confusion. Staring up he let out a soft yip of confusion, wondering what was happening. Why this wolf had settled into their den, and why his anaa would care that whoever was called Sakhmet was gone.

skippable as well ^__^
skippable as well!

Kassuq stayed back, Massaraq took Kukutux other side. There was another here, one he thought he might have smelt before, so was not alarmed. They had many visitors, to which Arrluk was used to now. She spoke a name, one he knew he had heard over and over again but in those few weeks, could not recall now.

Though he did not connect the name with the wolf, he did remember a red woman who once laid here with them day in and day out- it was mother, just as this snowy wolf was, which he sat next to now. Red woman was here as much as Kukutux had been- and then she wasnt.

There is worry there, in his gaze. The word gone plagued him but more so it was the thick air which was held in the den. Why was his red mother not here? Was she busy, like their red father was? Arrluk whined softly as he nuzzle his other mother's flank.
with youth, she could not pair the speaking of these names. sakhmet was her flesh, her mother. the absence, as usual, was not felt yet; with growth, curiosity, questions, a misplaced longing would arise. as visitors came and went, galana was thrilled.

a windmilling tail and a excitable glance towards the woman were all that followed her entrance, the tiny girl responded this way for most visitors. this stranger smelled like her mother, the moonwoman that is. little galana did not understand where her anaa had gone. there were so many confusing presences, disappearances, including the red woman she clung too for the first few weeks.
last for me!

sialuk came to her.

moonwoman drew a great breath.

"maybe she has gone to seek akkuma and kigipigak." her son. her husband. sialuk would remember how kukutux had suffered. how they both had held much pain.

but their meeting was not filled with it. they spoke of the spine and the mountain, of the two in moonspear who wished a match.

"if elentari wants children this year, move swiftly. ask for a fine new elk hide and three otter skins. this way it shows he is a strong hunter and swift as well."

soon their attention turned back to the four growing pups, and laughter filled the ulaq.
gonna fade here. <3

Sialuk watched each small sibling with fascination, knowing that soon, she would have her own to watch after. Would they be boys? Girls? Some of each? She would not know for some time, and she let herself listen idly to her mother's words. For now, she was happy to be in the comfort of her mother's home, watching her small brothers worm their way around the ulaq.
