shortly after their talk, one of the newer moonspear leaders had spoken of moontide's need for bodies. chakliux looked dismally at the new beautiful lodge as he came to speak with
@Nasamik.
"stay here with raiyuk. i will bring word of what is said."
he would not yet depart until he had repaid sialuk, and did not look forward to his wife and son being gone from him.
but the seal hunter went all the same, and with him he brought a fox-pelt, orange save for the wintershed of white patches sprinkled through the main fur. he called boldly for the leadership, thinking also of
@Heph as he cried out.
Rodyn heard the call and amswered it promptly. Yellow eyes taking in the wolf in front of him. The male that had been taught a lesson by Aiolos. But that wasn't Rodyn's concern. Instead he dipped his head and offered a smile.
Hello brother hunter. What brings you to moontide.
A sweep of his tail in a friendly arch.
this was the man rodyn. "i greet you," the seal hunter said. "i am chakliux, of moonspear. meerkat has told me of moontide. and i know heph, also." he lifted his chin.
"my wife, nasamik, seeks a new home. she says she is crowded upon the mountain. i cannot yet come here, but if it is all right, she and our son, raiyuk, will join moontide soon."
The other male didn't seem to remember him and that was fine. He had seemed more interested in Samani anyway. Which if Rodyn were an insecure man, and Samani hadn't told him of what transpired, perhaps he'd have been irritated, but Rodyn was secure in his love for Samani and her love for him that he felt no need to worry about a male who had a bigger ego than he had balls.
Rodyn gave a soft smile. That's fine. I'm sorry you will need to be apart. But they have a home here and we will take care of them.
Heph arrived later, but managed to catch the tail end of the wolf's request. She greeted both of them with a tip of her own head and smile. "Rodyn, Chakliux." As Rodyn replied that they would take in Nasamik and Raiyuk she tilted her head to listen. He seemed to imply that they would come soon though she did not know how long it would take a young wolf to travel. "I'll welcome them as well. And let them know if they need anything to seek me out." Though she had no doubt as to their capabilities she had settled in Moontide for a longer period of time and would be able to provide some assistance in settling there as it sounded as though they intended to stay.

chakliux was grateful; he dipped his head to them both. "i will bring meat one day for moontide," the seal hunter decided, for it was a fitting payment to see that nasamik and raiyuk were protected.
and then he turned, and began to climb for moonspear again, not knowing that within the hour would his heart ache with a true longing at the thought of their departure.
Shoet and to the point. The man soon left and Rodyn felt his heart pang, because he knew well this pain. He he hoped it got better for both.
Heph tilted her own head in reply. "Safe and speedy travels." She hoped that he would be able to return to his family soon, though her mind was already turning to how she might help welcome them - what they may need. Time would tell she supposed.
