Meylodi had been grooming herself when the scent came to her.

The scent of a mountain of a wolf she knew well.

One that had been ingrained in her mind since she was a wee lass still nursing with her mother.

@Rofis had found her.

The she-Alfa stood tall, padding out of her den and to the edge of the territory, howling.

As much as she missed him, her brother had made her leave. Not of his doing, but because she had chosen a path for herself.
First Meylodi and then their other sister left, and that was his breaking point. Rofis had to go after them. Though he didn't want to leave his mother in charge of the Frostcrest pack, he had to. He had to find his sisters. He couldn't track down Valara's scent well, but Meyl's was still fresh-ish when he had left, so he headed after her. After days and weeks of travel, he reached a mountain range, reeking of other packs, but also his sisters scent.

And then he saw her. Perched on a ledge, seemingly quite pregnant. That was a shocker and did not make him happy.

The red/brown man slowly approached where his sister stood, his head held high.

When in earshot, he rumbled in a low voice "Meyl."
The fur along her spine stood at attention, her jaw upturned in a growl that she did not keep from voicing. This was her land, her pack, the life she had chosen after he did what he did. What right did he have to follow her and step foot on the territory they had spent her pregnancy finding and establishing for pups she thought she'd never have?

For a life better than the one she had left?

Her golden gaze held unresolved anger.

Meylodi's fur bristled.

Dat be Alfa Meylodi ta da likes o' you, the dark queen snarled, her calm demeanor falling.

State yer business 'ere, bro'er. 'Fere me fangs be itching ta give cha a scar matchin' mine.
Rofis took a half respectful step backward. "My bad, Alfa Meylodi." He said, and dipped his head, half mockingly. "I am here because you are here. With you and Valara gone, there is not much left of Frostcrest, so I set out, to find one of my sisters, and to reside with her again. And I found you. Hope thats ok." He said. "How'd you get a pack, and, how'd you get.. pregnant?" Rofis said with a slight growl. He didn't like the idea of a man being with his sister.
Same way 'Larie got 'er children, if ya ain't thinkin' 'ow this typic'ly werks, Meylodi snarled, albeit a tad playfully. She missed the lump of carrion before her as much as she held resentment for him. It occurred to the dark queen that she had the power here. She would be his she-Alfa if Void, in her love's wonderful territorial nature, did accept him into their pack. Rofis would make the first male that wasn't her grá. Meyl wasn't sure how he'd take it, or what he'd think about this particular one. The scent was unmistakable, and he knew of Frostcrest - this had to be Rofis.

He'd have to listen to her. Oh, she'd like that. Fell into t'is land a' a good time, like. Found me a man I wan'ed ta marry, no help ne'ed from ya. Wan'ed a pack, 'e did. A pack 'e got, jus' in time fer ta li'er.

'Poligize fer what ya tried ta do, an' mebbe I t'ink 'bout callin' 'im.
"I was doing my job." Rofis muttered. "I gotta meet this man, or my worries may be true. I only want the best for you Meyl, thats why I tried to force your hand at a mate. I want you to be with someone I trust to treat you the way a man should." He said with strength to his tone, and he raised his posture, holding his ground.
Fercin' me ta do anyt'in' ne'er werks, ya've known tat since we be barne, Meylodi growled, standing tall and proud. The Alfess seemed to maintain a level of grace and calmness to her, even if her ire was rising quickly. She howled for @Void (her howl translating, roughly, to 'get cher tail o'er 'ere, grá, I ain't in ta mood fer t'is). Maybe he'd knock sense into her brother for her; his grá was far too along in pup incubation to send Rofis back whence he came or give him a matching scar to theirs.

Do ya t'ink tat I be le'ing a man, me - tat one who swore off men when I be a wolflin', 'ave 'is pups with me... if 'e trea'ed me wrong? Do ya t'ink tat I be some 'elpless lass still, ne'ing me paw gui'ed like a newbarne pup?

Grá be'er come soon...
Rofis just sighed as his sister ranted on about stuff he didn't really agree with. He was meant to take care of her, he felt it in his heart, even if he expressed it in not the best ways, everything he did and said was in care and protection for his sisters'.

He sat and waited for her mate to come, and solemn and cool but not unwelcoming look on his face.
Void heard Meyls call and at first thought she was in trouble or in a situation based on her message. So when he saw her with a man he didn't recognise sitting in front of her, his fur spiked up and he greeted him with a low growl. "Who are you." He said, teeth bared in a threatening way. The man in no way resembled his love so he didn't recognize him as her brother, as Meyl would be towards Shard or Kye most likely.
Void, darlin', t'is be me bro'er, Rofis, she turned to her mate, batting her eyes in such a way that didn't match the next words out of her muzzle. Do me a fav'r an' give 'im a scar fer me. Mebbe t'en he see ya as a man fit fer an 'alpless li'le princess an' not a welf fittin' o' ta ti'le o' Alfess, or fit ta be a mam. she growled, barely able to hold her anger.
Her.. brother? How was this red piece of shit related to his mate? If she wanted him to give him a scar, Void was all for it. With a growl he lunged at the large mans shoulder, sinking his fangs into him deep. For good measure he also raked his claws down the side of Rofis's face. "That good enough for you?" He said, smirking at Meyl as the man stared, taken aback, at Void.
Rofis wasn't planning on taking any shit from this man, sure he did look incredibly strong, but Rofis wasn't one to usually be beat up. He was wrong though. When Void lunged there was nothing he could do to defend himself. In an instant his shoulder was bleeding and so was his face. He growled with menace though, staring Void down, threatening to attack, but refraining himself for Meyl's sake. "Why." He growled at her.
Meylodi couldn't help but smirk, running her head and the back of her neck along the underside of Void's, as much a loving gesture as it was a protective one. T'ank ya, grá, Rofis wouldn't go for him if his sister was in the way. As a bonus, she licked under his muzzle, pressing her side against his. This was her mate, the father of her children, and her brother could do nothing about it. He was also stronger, which made this no competition as to who would win in a fight.

Her love could smell her anger and stiff, angered state, contrasting so thoroughly with her usual calm demeanor that she held something deep for the wolf before the pair. And it wasn't good.

Firs', if ya so much as lay one fang on this man, I will line our den with yer pelt, she snarled, her golden gaze narrowed, jaw upturned and showing her fangs. Secon', you wander onto our land an' start ge'in' upset t'at me doin' just fine without cha, an' ya don' expect me mate ta not give some rottin' piece o' carrion what fer, ya've got a lo' ta learn 'bout 'ow t'is man treats 'is la'y.
Rofis just sighed. "Whatever you say Meylodi. Whatever you say. I didn't come here to cause trouble. I came here because I missed my sisters. I am happy for you having found a man. He seems suitable enough, even if he isn't one I would've chosen for you, I won't argue." He muttered.
What was she doing? This wasn't the way to treat kin... to treat her brother... she held her qualms with him, yes, things he definitely needed to answer for. Don't ma'er who ya would've chosen fer me. Meylodi sighed, stepping away from her mate to close a bit of distance with her brother.

Rofis, she said curtly, neither here nor there. As ya can see, I be 'bout re'y ta have me li'er... I... would nat wan' 'em ta... not know ta only uncle they got on me side.
Rofis perked up at that. "I don't know if you know this about me, but I love pups. I am a family man, which I know you know, but especially towards little ones. I would love to get to know them as they grow, if you're ok with that." He said, speaking to both the alfas with his last statement.

(powerplaying void a bit here)

The big black Alfa nodded. "If Meyl's ok with it, I'm ok with it. Welcome to Midnight Scar, Rofis." He said to the younger red-furred man.
Jus' don't tell me 'ow ta live me life, Meyl gave one final warning under her breath, before hesitantly going up to Rofis and muttering, quietly... as if she didn't want to admit it, but she had to, what needed to be said.

What she wanted to say so badly it hurt. Questions that only Rofis could answer, questions that had been burning in her mind but she... couldn't...

I... missed ya... 'ow's Ma? A-and Da? Is - 'Larie okay? Did she 'ave 'er li'er okay? What she name 'em? What about Gran? 'ows... aur fam'ly?

Her voice grew soft, and quiet, her eyes darting from Void for comfort to her brother.
"Meyl.. they're... gone. Gran and Grand-da died very shortly after you left due to sickness, and dad died a bit after from a border skirmish fight with Raindancer. Thats why I said earlier I left mom alone and in charge of the remainder of us. Valara had her litter and then left a bit after with them." Rofis said, sadly informing his sister of these things. "But mom was alright last I knew." He added, trying to keep the mood up.
Thar... gon'? she echoed, her voice quivering. . Nah, they con't be gan...

Gran... Grand-da...

Da?

Grief overcame the Alfess, her body shaking like a pup being told her da wasn't coming back from hunting.

Mammy- why didn't cha stay with Ma? She's lost e'erythin'. 'er ma, 'er da, 'er mate... 'er pups an' the ones callin' 'er Gran... She lost darn near 'alf 'er pack an' ya dumb furball lef' 'er like t'at?!
"She supported me leaving. She wanted to make sure her daughters were ok. She told me to find you. I've not caught Valara's scent at all yet, and I dont know if shes out there somewhere or if shes not ok, but I found you. And right now thats all that matters to me. I trust mom to be ok with the pack. I needed to make sure I still had sisters though." Rofis said
Still, the Alfess' body shook as she leaned against her mate for support - that's what he was there for, right? To keep her steady when the world around her swam and turned as it did now. Her head nuzzled into Void's soft fur, hiding his love's face, breath heaving with the grief thundering in her heart. It was the first time she'd been so sad in front of him, so vulnerable.

I ne'er said goodbye ta any o' 'em- she realized quietly, another heave of sadness. An' now I ne'er get ta- she whined.

She sniffled, a tear falling from her eyes. I'm sorry... I'm a failure of a dau'er-

Meylodi breathed, just... breathed.

I can't let aur li'er not know where thar mam and da came from. It's ta only thin' any of 'em would've wan'ed-
"You can tell them when they're old enough." Rofis said. "We will both live on in Frostcrests legacy." He vowed
with that, rofis followed the alfas to his new pack
