When Reverie felt a little stronger, she took her daughter aside. Her heart was in her throat as she led Blossom slowly from the den, taking her just outside of it so they might have a view of the ocean while they spoke. She didn't know what to say. More than anything, she wanted to say nothing at all — to invite Blossom out to play among the waves, perhaps teach her a bit of dancing, if she could find the energy for it.
Instead, she took a deep breath. Blossom, She touched her nose to her head gently. There's something I'd like to talk to you about. I know that - things seem weird right now, that everyone seems upset. It's just that - well, I'm a little bit... sick.
