Quote: That hardcore clever title, though. @Lasher

The golden teen had kept his pace a fair trot, as he traveled from his new home to collect a few herbs, spices, and everything nices.
Sounded so much better in his head.

"If I were a small minnow, where would I be?...Only a fishy dude would think..."
Sea?..Nah, not so close to one.
A river?
How the hell was he supposed to rhyme River with Something that sounded like Sea?
Screw it.

Pad, pad, pad, pad, the handsome sandy golden hippie kept his emeralds on the sight before him...
That River.

"If you little fish dudes don't toss me a couple of bros, im gonna splash until you all do the belly flop.", the yellow teen warned the fish, knowing the earless and underwater things couldn't hear nor understand anything he threw their way, let alone anything at all.
love the title. mind if we bring this up to the present?

with the events that had occurred fresh upon his mind, lasher did not wish to stray far from the plateau, ashamed as he was. however, it had thusly dawned on him to procure choicer food for blue willow's palate — she would need the best sustenance to prepare for the bodies that would soon be growing within her.

a flash of gold caught his eye, and the breeze bore the scent of the caldera. taltos hesitated, wishing to turn his path now; then with a shake of his ruff determined he could not avoid every wolf who followed fox and peregrine, and that it was only the pair with whom he wished to deter contact. confidence reentering his tread, lasher continued upon his way, wondering idly if the gilded man would spot him.

◆Not a problem at all! Take the reins, Eb. W_^V◆

Funny how the world worked, letting you do stuff, only to make you feel as though ypu have free control, when it was Destiny's plan all along. Ash didn't know he'd be making friends today, but then again, what did the boy know? Other that mixing juniper berry with higlac was sure to deliver a pleasant sleep catacomb for a soul, alomg with a couple of other melodious mixes in the herbalic arts.
That scent isn't herbal.
That's a wolf.

What?
Sun pelted body swiveled just in time to see a body hesitate, and continue its path towards him.
And for some idiotically funny reason, his brain screamed at him that the dark spruce and light charcoal sheathed dude came over here to steal minnows.
Just what the hell, Ash.

"Sup, dude. Came here for some fishin' too? "

In hopes to not seem like a crazy teen who almost got defensive over some little bitty fish,
The yellow pelted wolf sent a friendly toothy grin to his new company.

"In truth, these little scaleheads are driving me insane with their little zippin and zappin in the water. I can't catch not one of em'. "
<3

<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

he was unused to the manner of speaking proffered by the golden boy; it took a moment for him to understand, but presently he brightened and smirked at the youth's question, looking down at the quickly darting fish. i do not think i would be able to, either! he exclaimed amusedly.

as if to demonstrate the point, taltos pushed aside the sorrow and anger that had formed a sort of canker-sore within him, and snapped halfheartedly at the swarming minnows. for his efforts he received only a mouthful of water and a soaked muzzle.

The sunny boy observed the dark man gracefully dip his snout into the waters, his shpw of being unable to catch any of the silver flicking fishies, either. Sending a soft and almost musical laugh, he exclaimed to the shadow pelted dude,

"I think you might be a whole lot more skilled than me, bro. Gah, it makes me jealous. "

A lasting grin touched Ash's maw, the dainty lips reluctant to release the sign of joy.
Vibrant spring green irises gazed over the company, and with an inclination of his head, he called over to him.

"Hey, names Ashton. Or just Ash. Fierce Destroyer of the Fishies, and aspiring Healer, and Gamekeeper. Member of the RedHawk Caldera. What's ya name?"

His face of seriousness broke at the mention of being a fish slayer, but hell, everyone needed a joke every now and then, eh?
umg i love him so <3

<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

lasher chuckled. larger fish i could perhaps catch. do not be envious of such a shoddy method! he jested. to the other's title, he drew himself up; the scent of fox's lands no longer perturbed him, for the moment. i am lasher, also called taltos, destroyer of very few things, intended counselor and perhaps healer, if time permits. i am from blacktail deer plateau.

he grinned joyously at his companion. did you come all this way to hunt silver fishes in a pond, ashton?

◆its impossible for me to not dig Lasher, Eb. Great work. ♥◆

"Hahaha, Lash, it's the shoddy methods that make it fun! Bein' all nice and neat, and cookie cuttin' your life isn't somethin' thats good for ya, bro. Riot it up!"

It was then that Ashton decided to cannonball the shallow waters of the river.
Tucking his slender tender limbs underhim, he launched himself in the crystalline waters, drenching both the lupines with the refreshing liquid.
Mother Nature was great.

Looking from under his thick blonde bangs that hung heavy with the river water, emerald looked at the darkie.
Taltos, eh?
"Rad name, Lash. Im diggin it."

Another grin spread whimsically across his features and the teen thpught on Lashers second sentence.

"Well, came out here to get the little fish ta make a bit of meds with em. They wouldn't be all that great of a meal, as you can see.
There's something that resides in their organs, something that effectively heals cuts faster than a normal cream or poultice. Was gonna make sure it worked, but bleh."

<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

he chuckled at the boy's enthusiasm, lifting a foreleg to ward off the worst of the splash. licking the cool liquid from one shoulder, he returned his attention to the younger wolf, returning the large, open grin upon the playful face.

ears pricked forward with curiosity as his companion spoke of the fishes' healing properties. giving a low hum of contemplation, lasher's gaze alighted upon a wide piece of bark peeling from the bole of a nearby oak, and he moved to tear it from its base.

perhaps we could trap them again the bank with this, he suggested, cocking his head to one side as he awaited ashton's reply.

◆not a prob ☆◆

Bounding from the lake, Ashton made sure he was a safe distance from his companion, before he shook his pelt in an explosive Ash-storm of merciless droplets of lake water launching everyway possible known to man.

After getting his golden-ball-of-glory/afro hide of justice look together, he trotted back over to the man who was now known as 'Lashin' Taltos' to him, he wagged his still damp and floofy tail back and forth.

"You are the best in ideas...I never woulda thought of that, Lash! Rad call. That nice hunka bark ya got there will scare em, and beach em up on that bank, wont they? Let's do it!"

His enthusiastic response was common to the teen, but today, it felt as though he was definitely learning something from Taltos, a trait he respected well in others.
The blonde teen appreciated the abilities of others, in turn of offering his own hardcore healings to others.
Paying it forward.
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

the gamma's eyes danced delightedly, and without hesitation he moved quietly into the water, as not to disturb the minnows unduly. after he had turned several times, seeking the best angle for the bark's position, the man lowered it into the water, lifting one forepaw to press upon its top and thus ensnare it loosely in the muddy underbed.

he gestured with pointed muzzle to ashton, so that the golden youth might herd the fishes into place, and then taltos would pull the bark forward, and so hope to beach their small, flashing bodies upon the near bank.

◆gah, everytime I see your sig, I see the Adopt tag, and im just like DONTDOITDONTDOITXANDIRNO◆

Snagging the other piece of outter trunk, the sandy dude took the cue just as if he had been training for it, all his life. Thoughit was a first try for him, it seemed as though he had past experience, lowering it to the clear depth, and gently following the dark hued dudes lead, having the fishies flishin and floshin, fleeing the bark, only to land on the muddy shore of the river. They did the belly flop here, there, and all over, until Ash dug a quick hole to drop em in, and adding water to it from the river, he just about had a fish bowl. Mini pond.
Close enough.

"These'll be good until I nip a bowl to transport em back to base in. That was fun, Lash. Maybe we oughta go fishin hella lot more, cause you're definitely knowin what you're doin, muchacho. "

The golden pelted doctor looked from the fish to the wolf, and back and forth, until he had something smooth to say.

"You're a pretty cool dude, Taltos. Gotta remember you're here. We should hang out more often, ya know?"
U KNOW U WANT TO

<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

as was assumed, the trick worked well, and taltos watched with interest as ashton secured a tiny pool for the ones who had flipped gasping onto the bank. assuming that these were the ones the gilded healer would use for his remedies, he gave a modest smirk at the boy's praise.

your company is pleasing. i would not be opposed to ... hanging out again, lasher answered, the syllables of the odd vernacular awkward in his mouth.

◆I do, I swear I hear Constantine calling my name, as we type. God save me, Eb, dear gebus.◆

Ashton barked a laugh at the dark dudes attempt at responding in the way he hipped earlier.
Like, Bruh.
This dude, nothin but rad.

Ash swished his tail, already eager at the prospect. The tall dude was chill, his kind eyes making the hippie feel more obliged to him. As sudden as a flying squirrel splatting into a tree, Ash recalled the words of his Alpha.
'Lover', 'Lasher', and a whole buncha other stuff dealing with the Dera and the Plat. This caused a pause in the swirling fan of fluffy fur on his rear.

"Hey, Lash, ya wouldn't happen to know a Peregrine, would ya? Dark dude, like you? Real stylish. With a Fire Babe named Fox?"

Was this the Lasher his Alpha spoke of?
:DDDD

<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

peregrine. fox. the names provoked a reaction in lasher that he could not hide from ashton's bright eyes; his lips trembled in their smile, and his expression tightened somewhat, though in the next moment he had composed himself. peregrine was my lover, taltos answered softly. fox he did not comment upon. he did not wish her ill, but neither did he wish to speak her name. perhaps the panther had told the youngster of their shared histories.

Ashton saw the emotional tide lightly dapple the softie, and the golden teens heart softened evwn more towards the comrade. Without even saying anything, the doctor walked up to the Taltos, and attempted a gentle nuzzling of his shoulder, a gesture of understanding.

The doc knew of pain of losing loved ones, and though the loss wasn't one of a lover, let alone recent enough to still cause that burn that seared him everytime he thought of her, just knowing his loss was almost enough to grab kindle for it. And knowing this Lasher was that Lasher, hell, that was nearly enough to light the flame.

"Aww, muchacho, he speaks only sweet words of ya, and he misses ya dearly. He was destroyed by that dude Dante's call on the seperation of us, and it ain't all that pretty in Per's eyes, neither."

Ashton turned his Verdes to the azures of his company, and understood how hurt the darkie coulda been at the though, so he chopped it.

"Is there something you want me to pass over to him, bro? Hell, anything ya want, ill tell him word for word."

The teen earnestly swished his thick dandelion colored tail, his desire to help this hurtin amigo in any way he could.
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

taltos drew in his breath sharply as ashton pushed muzzle to shoulder; ears slid back and he sought the boy's touch for a fleeting moment. the emerald eyes of the other were brilliant with sadness and worry as he spoke, and lasher felt his soul slip dangerously from its moorings at the mention of peregrine.

no, he whispered in a voice that broke upon the shores of the redhawk's compassion. i believe we have said all that is to be said to one another. and yet there were so many more words to span the space betwixt them.

turning his glance to the silvered fish swimming in their tiny pool, taltos mustered a smile. but thank you, ashton. how will you extract the medicine from their bodies?

The doc watched the man, and after he nuzzled him, he stood there a second longer, befroe retreating back a foot or two. He knew the pain, and it shamed him a bit that he referenced it. However, to save the akward-tasticness of silence that he was prepared to unintentionally toruture the both of them with, Taltos broke the ice.
His own voice was a bit sharded too, and it was all Ash could do to not reach out and comfort his new friend, again.

"The fish? Oh yea.. those dudes."

It seemed to him that the fish were menial now, and Ash kinda didnt even want em, anymore. However, his duty as a doc called for such measures to be taken.

"I just plan on severing them. Theyre small enough for me to just smash em, but the excess meat and other organ cell structures, along with the little nutrient duhickies will dull the potency of the Omegas that reside in the liver of the fish, meanin i just might need to add more of the fish to the meds im comming up with."
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

he could sense ashton's empathy, radiating hotly from the boy's green eyes, but he did not address the emotion. rather, he listened to the informative chatter that reached his ears, hmming in a polite sort of way once the medic had finished.

this was the youth who would be helping aid fox in childbirth, if the fireflame allowed such a thing, and taltos did not think that she would. yet, on a whim, he tilted his head and asked, are you versed with the delivery of children?

With an enthusiastic nod, the hippie affirmed the dark dude's question.
He had so many tales of helpin the Aspen's give birth, it was damn near childs play for him. All the herbs were simple, but the attention to every detail was also a necessary thing, for having pups wasn't a walk in a park with babes.

"Yea, i've had quite the walk with poppin' out da pups, bro. Just pup galore, in my little lifetime. Seen so many pups, it's like 'Dear god, there's more,' but bein the one who actually helps to deliver em just makes me that much more closer with them, and the ol' lady, ya know?"

Ash knew his years with his birth pack had been soem of the funnest and easiest burdens to bear on his shoulders, but that didnt mean it wasn't a burden. Everybody had their story, and knowing that sharin was carin, Ash didn't mind givin Lash his history. But would Ash be able to tell it without shattering the well worn smile he perfected?
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

there was a tale behind the jovial language and green eyes. lasher settled himself upon the bank. ashton was quite young to have helped deliver a great lot of children; he wondered how long the boy had been practicing the art of herbalism. he was an interesting sort, and had not the caldera and the plateau's strife separated them, lasher would have been happy to spend more time with the golden child.

will fox let this happen, your aid? taltos inquired, not bothering to hide the wry twist of his lips. he had known the ruby; she did not take lightly to things she did not understand.

"I do hope so. I know she and I don't chat over a table of tea every time we could have, but that doesn't mean I can't heart the gal. She's got spark and spunk, I dub her that. But pushin pups can have tremendous reprocussions, and she's gonna need a wolf to carry her, when it's over. Too many times, I've seen a mum pop a few, then pass, leaving the pups with no mom. It was a struggle, I'll admit, even for me. I don't want that on anyone, especially not tha fireball."

Ashton thought of the distraught mother, a golden female with hazel eyes, just learned the news of a miscarriage, and him having to be the wolf to break it down to her.
It was enough tears to drown the world, and Ash was thoroughly surprised that it didn't.
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

as he knew the story of pied, the mother of pura and saena, and so his heart wrenched within him at the idea. despite his dislike of fox, he could not bring himself to wish upon her the death of her children — for they were peregine's also, and his panther's heart had already been beset with sadness. i am sure with you at her side that she will fare quite well.

a glance heavenward brought him a glimpse of the heavens and the sun's position. it is a trek back to the plateau, my friend. i must return. but he did not depart; not yet. i hope to see you again, ashton. you have lifted my spirits immensely.

Ash smiled at the spruce and shadow pelted man, a new friend that he would most likely not forget. The compliment hit him where every other did. Straight to the heart.
A soft reroute came after the nicety, and it pained the Doctor to hear the sentence.

"Lash, if we don't keep in touch, I don't think this smile of mine's gonna ever be as genuine as it's been today. You got a real special place in my heart, Bromigo, and I'd hate ta lose ya over the test of time. Maybe we can hang sometime soon? Go campin or huntin or even if ya wanna take a psychedelic trip with me on some of my Safe Shrooms, man, I don't even mind. Just toss me up word, and I'll be there as quick as a bird can tweet. Promise that to ya, Taltos."

The hippie actually contemplated giving the man another shoulder nuzzle, but didn't wanna press the feelz. Ash didn't know how far he could go, and not be able to turn back. Instead, he offered the tall, dark, and lovely a paw bump, and an affectionate,

"See ya around, Lash."
<style type="text/css">q {font-family: 'Gentium Basic'; font-style: strong; font-size: 16px; color: #4d924d; text-shadow: 0px 0px 5px #99C199;} p {margin: 40px 80px 0px 80px; font-family: 'Georgia', serif; color:#000000; text-align:justify; text-indent:0px; font-size:20px'} </style>

he returned the odd gesture, an odd smile flitting to his lips. ashton was refreshing, his language interesting, and the gentle light of his green eyes was at once both intriguing and alluring. with an amused smile to himself as he turned, lasher wondered if he was doomed to a lust for emerald gazes, and he mused upon this as he set the quick trot for home.
