Wait... he did have a friend. At least, the giant thought him a friend, even if the red priest was very busy with so many other things and they hadn't spoken since. Friends didn't have to talk a lot, did they?

At any rate, the man's heart filled back up with joy and had spent half of his workday scouring the land to find a perfect, and he meant a perfect flower for @Senmut . That little one wouldn't do, none of them would do, but finally, finally, after who knows how long he'd spent searching... he found one. A perfect little red one, and his tail nearly squished its friends as Haizel stared at it with quiet wonderment.

He'd plucked the little thing from its friends, said goodbye, and happily pranced about Akashingo's palace in search of the wolf who'd made his entire life, his job - everything that'd been good about coming here happen. The giant wagged a fluffy tail and his fur bounced with each step.
stained with earthen paints, senmut had been making his way to the wellspring when the heavy step of the great man who had recently joined them sounded. haizel's shadow was very great, and cast across the small-statured prince.

but senmut only looked warmly toward the man. "you are never without a blossom, sesh," he remarked, remembering how devoted to the excavation of gardens that both haizel and toula loved.

"how do you settle inside the palace?"
Hi! he barked happily, a small giggle forcing its way to the surface and escaping. I'm settling in well. I started to fill in the garden's dirt, I've been trying to find flowers that everyone in the palace can enjoy, and speaking of...! the man's voice grew high-pitched and excited, his body shaking with anticipation as his words trailed into silence.

As he did with Kind Queen Toula months ago, he delicately placed the little flower at Senmut's paws, sitting and failing to keep his tail still.

I got you a present!
a tiny red flower. senmut inspected it with great pleasure. "i will put it with my sacred things, sesh," the prince murmured.

he was rather overcome. he had the splendor of akashingo, its power, its loyalty, but gifts were not common. there was a warmth around his spirit; he touched the soft petals again with a light paw.

"you will plant more of these?"
He liked it!

Haizel could hardly contain himself, vibrating with happiness. The giant's great tail was a blur as it sent a wind to the dirt of which he sat otherwise as daintily as a deer could, yellow eyes shining as if the sun that kissed Akashingo's sacred ground with the approval of the gods had caressed them. A tiny squeal as he watched Senmut's paw inspect soft petals.

No no, this was a wolf of great honor, deserving of a calmer response than the one bubbling to the surface and threatening to spill off the tongue. The man had a time and a half trying not to blurt out whatever childish rambling fought its way up his throat. I can plant more if you'd like me to.
"yes. i would like that, haizel. plant seven more plants which wlll bear red blossoms such as these," senmut instructed. "seven is a holy number."

a thought came to him; he looked from the flower to the man with renewed interest. "as you know, our queen must marry. i would like you to cultivate a garden so beautiful that bouquets might be used from it for the ceremonies. preserve a good deal of petals as well, dry them in a store-room for making the palace lovely."
Haizel, ever one to please and truthfully he was half-certain Senmut outranked him (he made a mental note to ask someone what the rules of this pack were and who was in charge of who and what), nodded with enthusiasm. I will do all I can! Flowers take time though, and I'll need help making the garden. It's a lot of work- he stop himself from going on an excited rant about the nature of the job he loved. -but if you can point me to assistance, I will do everything possible to prepare a garden that Akashingo has never seen! With flowers that everyone can enjoy! he barked, swinging himself to get his paws under him.

Seven! Seven plants of flowers! I can do that!
"ask any of the fellahin, and the mazoi also. they are all there to aid you," senmut instructed.

this was the sort of diversion in which the queen would involve herself as well, he was sure, given their ruler's predilection for pretty things.

"take all the time you need, sesh."
