while her fellahin rested, Toula came outside their quarters as she had the Mazoi. although she was advised to be kept away, in none of her dreams had she fallen sickly. her waking had shattered the curse once, and she would not sleep through the one they endured then. 
she worried after them. and to them she sang her prayer-song, too. fresh new furs for them to sleep upon, the old ones taken to be washed. more of Tavina’s tincture for Eset, and a tincture that would soothe Tuna’s pains to rub upon the wounds like a salve. a fellahin that was well would help in this task. 
lastly, she drew for them, too, the eye of Ra from the river water upon their doors. she invoked His protection through further prayer, and then she drifted to visit the others afflicted.
