A deluge of rainwater had made the Hollow’s creek swell to twice its size. As the water flowed, minerals from higher elevations traveled down to the lowlands and deposited along the banks. All around, the summer landscape seemed to bloom overnight. Lost Hollow Creek was a green place, at least to a spring-born child-like Shadowpup, but this… was on a whole new level.
Blooms of long-stemmed and bright-colored wildflowers bespeckled the emerald land. Shadowpup, who often enjoyed exploring by herself, found the foliage so dense that it was difficult to travel. So, she began to hop and bound like a deer through the shrubbery as she made her way toward the creek.
