for the fellahin of Akashingo!

many gifts lay out for the fellahin to choose from, though none the things that others had gifted to her—those had great meaning to Toula, and she could not be parted from them. they would go with her to the pyramids, as would her fellahin when they themselves came to pass.
new furs, fresh and lovely of varying colors, lay out for them to choose from. there was enough for all, and it was something to be said of Akashingo and it’s riches. other items of comfort and some rarity could be seen; feathers, antlers, tusks and things.
she would have their quarters be something of comfort and home to each. please, pick freely from what is offered here. it is my gift to you, for serving me so well, her warm voice beckons. the truth of it was she had been preparing to do such a thing for a long while, given the new number of fellahin that now had joined them!
and she was glad to do it. she loved them all, truly.

make an ooc note of what they claim so I can reference it in the future ;)!
THIS IS SO CUTE <3 lmk if the item choices aren't okay and i can change them!

In time, the windswept girl had left Khusobek's quarters at the call of the Queen — and she brought a present of her own.
It was not much, nothing quite like what the Queen herself offered — but it was earnest, and as she had promised when she'd first arrived, she brought jewelry! A little bracelet woven by her own teeth and paws, made of twine and reeds, and in the center laid an opaque jewel harvested from the river.
For you, my Divine One, and it was presented with a bright, shining grin and a quick wag of a long tail.
And as for what Inji herself chose, she found herself at a standstill. Awestruck by what laid before her, she simply marveled for a while, fascinated; sniffing gingerly and touching with gentle paws, before deciding on the hide of what looked to be a bobcat. Vibrant and pristine and perfectly preserved, she found herself fascinated by the patterns and silver sheen, the softness, the leathery smell. It was unlike anything she'd ever seen before!
And then, another item catches her eye; the downy cerulean feather of a bluejay, and giddily, she tucks it into the fur of her nape. Oh, how she wished she could see herself!
Her eyes well with a sheen of tears, ears tucked close to her skull, and all the while her smile never once drops. I wish I had something better to offer you in thanks.
i hope you are okay with this minor adjustment but I saw spiritual meaning behind lynx (independence, discretion, clairvoyance, beauty, protection) and I had to! other fellahin still welcome at any point!

it was Inji who first drew forth, lingering over her wares. the gift provided to her caused the Queen to gasp, and proffer her left wrist so that it might be put on. she pulled her foreleg up to gaze at the lovely riverstone, her own eyes filled with the element of water. the care that went into this was not missed! I thank you, she breathed in earnest. for now she wore the riches of love and of Akashingo’s own land!
Toula smiled at her choices, moving toward her to observe them and nodding with her approval.
she observes how Inji tucks the feather into her fur, and gasps at the fashion-forwardness of it! and she is inspired by the idea, too—the spot of color upon her only makes her more becoming. that is very clever! she commends, I may yet need your aid when it comes to preparing to be seen by my court, she raises her brows playfully, a warm smile on her lips.
happy to make changes as needed!

tuna knows that the life of a fellahin is not one for luxury. she is nothing of a beacon that toula remains as for akashingo, but rather the vessel and lifeblood that makes up this glorious empire. upon the backs of her and the other fellahin, the queen remains content and safe despite the princes that beg for her hand. her food and wine remain tasted before it arrives to her chambers, and at all times tuna would find herself staying close when able.

to see such lavish gifts placed before with the option to pick whatever suited her own, tuna would come to push a nose against the furs curiously. inji is quick to swipe up something pristine and certainly it would look lovely in her cavern. as for tuna, her tastes were not as refined. she seeks out the fur of a badger, noting that it remains a more plush option compared to the skins of the shy deer that lay flat against the stone ground.

and for her other option, tuna would take an antler to mount onto the entrance of her home. "t'll make'a gewd mount on mah wall," she comes to say with a light chuckle, "we're fer-ehver grate-ful fer yer geh'ner'ohsity, yer radiance." tuna has never been given such an option to pick wonderful pieces to welcome into her home.
could be a gray fox!

A strange feeling was rising, a hum like a bee’s hover as she ambles into the room filled with riches, adorning objects, and cascades of furs newly stretched and dried with the direct order to take from them. They were things she’d seen only in nobles’ rooms and laid out by her paws when arranging furnishings. A lavish life she would help to uphold, but it was not hers to live.

And the feeling was quickly identified as unease when she lay her eyes upon a creamy pelt that had rippled when she stepped past. She reaches to stroke a paw over the immaculate, silken strands. Beside it a much deeper umber stole burns for attention and she clutches at it greedily so she can feel its coarseness under her skin.  They both could be her possessions.

It shouldn’t be so hard to choose a fur.

She drops the searing pelt and grabs idly at something in passing, a neutral gray, distinct in no way. Something to replace the old furs on her bed.

She came alongside Toula, bowing reverently with the pelt slung across her shoulder. “Thank you, my Queen. When I feel its velvet I will think of you.”
with an approving and warm gaze, Toula watched as they decided. these same eyes were assessing all the while! and so she intervenes, too, as she sees Eset drop things she had first collected. the Queen sweeps over to her to pick them up, to put them again at the feet of her fellahin.
and then she looks to them each. these things are precious to me, as are you. it is my wish that my fellahin want for nothing. my constant companions, my eyes and my ears… my heart! you mean so much to me. understand that no amount of things I could give you would ever equate to this feeling in me that I carry, to know that it is your choice to be here, to be with me. this… it is truly the least I can do, she breathes.
her gaze turns to Eset and she smiles. it gives me great happiness to do what I can… give what I can… in turn, be unafraid to take what I provide, it is for you!
