The pheasant was gripped loosely in his jaws as the regal wolf trailed after the females scent. Esperanza was a newer face to the Creek, and his only interactions with the swarthy female thus far had been him having a clipped coversation twice, and then telling her off when she had come to heal Dovev.

This did not settle well with the cinnamon wolf. He might have been under stress, and even heartache, but it was no excuse to treat his fellow pack mate in such a manner. Scimitar was many uncomplimentary things, but he liked to think he could at least be civil to those who deserved it.

And so he sought her out bearing a gift of apology -- he could only hope he would be able to track her down.
Esperanza remembered healing Dovev fairly well. It seemed like only yesterday when she helped with the alabaster male's wounds, and then being confronted by her alpha. She was being stupid when he had howled for her, and asking if he needed healing did not help her situation. She could hear the sounds of the world around her as she beat her front paws upon the ground, it was a connection dance that her old pack had told her to go by if she ever did become a healer. She carried their wisdom in hher heart and remembered everything clearly. That was when she could soon smell her alpha and sat upon her haunches, eyes focused on the sun.
There was a gentle thrum of paws upon the earth, but when he finally caught view of her, the healer was sitting neatly upon the ground, as if she had not been in a flurry of motion before. He paused then, his eyes drifting about as if to expect some hyper culprit pop out of he bushes and zoom around him -- of course, nothing of the like happened.

Scimitar, as proud of a beast as he was, was also not above humility, and with a dip of his muzzle to reveal this, the male dropped the pheasant to his creamy paws, nudging it closer to her before settling upon his own haunches. His bright turquoise eyes glanced upon her then, studying her. "I wanted to offer you this as an apology to the way i treated you during our last conversation," he murmured, his tone careful as he watched for her reaction.
Esperanza smiled kindly to him. He was her superior, he did not have to apologize for anything rather than worry about his pack mate. She understood the emotions that had surrounded him that day, and she did not wish to him to apologize to her as she pushed the pheasant back to him. "You do not have to apologize for anything. If anything, I was being stupid watching Dovev's wound get worse. There is no need for apology, what's done is done, and the past is in the past. You are higher rank than me, so I should just take the yell and accept it, rather than cower like a pup that had just seen a bear for the first time. I know better than to just cry about it, I accept it and continue on with my duty." Everything Esperanza had explained to him was true, for she had learned from her old family these methods, and besides, she was young and always been told off by an adult, she was used to it and that's what made her learn even more.
He was pleased that the swarthy female had accepted his apology, but as his muzzle was downward once more, rolling the pheasant to her in another attempt of a peace offering, he froze as the next words came from her mouth. Blinking up, he slowly lifted his head once more, chilled by the sincerity she voiced this opinion.

Apparently, according to her, he was Alpha, and so he could be as much of a dick as he wanted and she should simply accept that.

“No,” he began slowly, his tail giving a quick sweep through the air. “It does not work like that in the ranks of the Creek.” There was a small pause, his jaw tightening as he contemplated how to explain. “Ranks are to be respected, yes,” he agreed quietly, shifting his weight then. “But power is not to be abused in this pack.”
Esperanza nodded, "Yes, but you were only trying to get me to do my job and to help Dovev, I am not angry with you. Everyone gets mad at something, and whether it be something like what occurred a couple days ago, I will take it and just do what I am assigned to do." He seemed to be talking about the ranks and that power should not be abused. She understood his words, but she was simply used to her old pack acting the way he did a couple days ago, but, Swiftcurrent Creek was her new home and her family now, she will accept everything that they throw at her with a smile on her face.
To say he was perplexed with the swarthy female was an understatement – it was possibly that Esperanza was the Luna Lovegood of the wolf world, and he was uncertain of how to truly act around her. There was a small moment of awkward silence -- the kind that stretched long enough to make the cinnamon male shift his weight before offering the she-wolf a nod. "Well I hope Swiftcurrent Creek changes that perspective of lfie for you," he offered quietly, a small smile pulling at his kips before he dipped his muzzle in an indication that he would leave her to herself now.

With his conscious feeling clearer now, the regal made his way to the borders, intent to do another sweep.
