takes place at night, clear conditions and 61ºF; aw!

the children of the rise had been baptized in blood and now work for their roles. guardian is the one that sunrise picked, and often she ponders what brought about such decisions. the young girl walks alone this night, coat bristling at the cool breeze that comes as the moon remains glistening in the forbidden sky.

parts of her, her boldest pieces, called for a change to fighter. sunrise knew the exhilaration that came with the battle and bloodshed, yet secretly there lingered a small bit of fear and perhaps even mortality.

sunrise thought of death some days, and these thoughts scared her.

the earth changes from the warmer seasons she once felt accustomed to. now this globe turns towards the cooler weather and leaves the growing stone feeling confused with her place in all the motion and all the sound.

sunrise made an effort to follow along the carved out parts of the rise, marking along as she had seen others to do. perhaps tonight she might finally walk a good distance of the land and allow for her scent to linger with the other adults.
The drop in temperature caused Lilia to weave along the borders with her hackles bristling. The scent of fallen leaf litter fills her nose, and she understands that the shift in seasons is coming, and that their way will only become more difficult as the prey begins to migrate. Her thoughts flickered to the wolves of Sapphique- and she wondered if they would hunt together again before the onset of winter, now that the children might be able to run alongside them.

She thought of the children and the roles they had chosen, and no sooner had the thought crossed her mind then she found herself picking up Saturday's Sunrise's scent along the borders. She had been keen to establish herself as a guardian, and so, felt it was time for her training to become more rigorous.

Lilia began to zig-zag along the borders, at times crossing them, but in a haphazard, erratic way. She looped back, creating a meandering trail, before she began to cut along the borders in Sunset's direction. She called out with a voice disguised by a blocked nasal passage, and timbres not usual for her howl. A low, off-sounding demand that she be met along the borders but not as Lilia-

as a stranger.
there came a moment where sunrise thought of running back to the others to alert them of a stranger. but soon it hits like a truck that sunrise has declared herself a guardian and therefore must be the one to greet whoever calls upon the wolves of the rise.

a sense of anxiety buds in the young girl, but if the rise could put faith into her, then she must act accordingly. so sunrise picks up a lope towards the border, masking whatever feelings of inadequacy she may harbor and instead comes with a blazing display of a high tail and raised hackles.

perhaps a bit overkill, but she wanted to pull out all her stops on her first night out. and as she moves closer to the origin of the sound, her own fierce call comes to cut through the dark sky. by now, her growing figure could be seen from the onlooker as she moves briskly without much notice of the stranger's appearance.

"stay where you are."
Anticipation built in the moments that passed following her roguish declaration, but within moments, she received a response- a command which caused Lilia to smile faintly, wickedly. She did no such thing, but began to creep forward, in hopes of catching a glimpse of the approaching guardian before she put her through an exercise.

Hints of white fur, and darker silver hackles bristled, a thick brush of a tail raised- all signs that she was committing too her role of guardian, but Lilia didn't intend to go easy on her simply because she was putting on a show.

She uttered a growl, and swept her paws against the ground, gouging through loose leaves and soft earth to leave behind scent markings in a territorial way. In a gesture intending to challenge Sunrise for her domain, Lilia continued to prowl and mark, flaunting a curled tail above her haunches; with a guttural call, she summoned the aspiring guardian.

Make me.
lightning strikes over the taiga when sunrise sees the display.

feeling taunted by this stranger, perhaps too enraged to even use her nose to smell a familiarity that possibly lingered, the girl thrusts herself forward into a gallop with teeth bared. while her skills in nose-to-nose combat remained elementary, the girl has spent enough times in her playful spars and observing of others to know that there is some form of strategy to these things. her own strategy however remains unclear, and all she can think about is pummeling this stranger for making a mockery of the rise.

moments like these would solidify why packs needed guardians, and why sunrise would fit the role just fine.

her speed is perhaps limited with a larger frame, but what she may be able to attempt is a body slam to kick the opponent off balance. she holds no back up ideas in her head and comes to laser focus on the impending collision that she thinks may happen in her mind.

leaving a bit vague for free interpretation/response! <3
She intended to antagonize, and see how the young guardian fared when she became engulfed in fury. It was everything needed of a Bjern to be able to both summon and channel their anger, and without being channeled it could leave a wolf wild and loose. Fury-blind, a wolf could lose their advantage, even if their commitment was higher.

She watched the young wolf approach without hesitation, having been summoned to the challenge. The dark Berserkr trotted forward a few paces, closing the gap, before she too rushed to close the gap between them. She braced for the heavy thud of muscle and bone, dipping one shoulder forward and in, aiming to catch Sunrise in the chest. In spite of being an apprentice, Sunrise would not be afforded much pity. Pain would have to become something she would have to fight through, and it was better that she learn to do so from an ally.
for what sunrise may have in tenacity and heart, she lacks in control, now in clear evidence to the berserkr.

she is quickly bested by the dropped shoulder, moving too quickly to calculate that her opponent would actively move against her. the collision of bone into flesh knocks the wind right out of her as the youngling heaves and crumbles, finding herself knocked away and onto her back.

as she attempts to suck in a breath, nothing comes. sheer terror comes to wrap around her chest as sunrise furiously rolls to find her shaky legs beneath her. eventually she finds herself upright and looks towards the other, noticing the distinctive markings of wolverine despite her uncertain eyes. sunrise does not come to trust what she sees and instead comes to launch another feeble attempt at an attack.

aiming to dive in and best the other by biting at the forearms, sunrise hopes to grab ahold of a leg and cause a stumble whilst keeping her own neck safe. she hadn't even had a chance to recognize the scent of the other.
She grimaced when she felt the impact- not for the pain, but for the sound Sunset made when the wind was so abruptly knocked out of her, and the hacking, groaning sound of a wolf who has had the wind knocked out of them. She remained close, hovering near the girl as she rose to her feet, still unable to draw in a proper breath.

She caught a glance- but little more than that before she was attacked again. She danced back to avoid having her legs bitten, until she realized that one sacrifice might give her the advantage. She steped forward to plant one foot firmly, and felt jaws close high on her forelimb. At that moment, she reached down, jaws open, to grab the girl by her muzzle.

OBVIOUSLY I AM BLIND PLZ FORGIVE ME FOR NOT SEEING THIS DIDN'T HAVE A RESPONSE

she hadn't expected this, no she was too busy reaching for the lowest of the hanging fruit before she can feel teeth upon her muzzle, holding her and yet refusing to break blood... at least for now she could only hope! sunrise had felt her own teeth grazing against the limb, but she was stuck now in a place she tried so hard to avoid! and perhaps now she can feel her heart shrivel with embarrassment at her lack of planning!

and so she releases her grip, emitting a low whine of defeat.
She felt the girl release her leg, both from the release of pressure on her forelimb and in the movement in the jaws that she held in her mouth. A quiet whine begged for her to let go, and she did, stepping back with a light huff of approval, before she moved back to check the girl's face for signs of injury, and offer an encouraging, soothing lick to the bridge of her nose.

"Anyone evuh catcheth you like that," She said, "It'th gonna hurt, but- shake yuh head ath hard ath you can," She said, giving a demonstration where she whipped her head around so violently that it caused spit to fly out from her lips. "Before they have the chanthe to really grip down. Eithuh that-" She said, and grinned wolfishly. "Or uthe them jawth of yourth, an' break their leg."

She hoped Sunrise would not have to use these tips, and that her border patrols would go without needing to resort to such hostile actions- but if she was going to be a guardian, then it would be better if she was prepared for the worst cases. "C'mon. Let'th patrol togethuh," She said, and headed off with the young trainee in tow.
