Two new arrivals, outsiders, joined the Rise – the first Moon Runner had ever experienced. Until now, their pack had only been the family she was born into. Moon Runner was open to these changes and too young to feel the instinct to vie for rank among them. However, it would not be long before the Rise’s juveniles became adolescents. Soon, they would heed the call that would send them prospecting.
For now, she enjoyed observing the adults and gleaned small lessons from their interactions.
The spirit mulled on this as Moon Runner made her way to a clearing. Late yellow blooms of goldenrod grew here and the glen was abuzz with pollinators.
