Having returned from Moonsong, Raiyuk was met at the lodge by his father and a woman. He did not fully comprehend what had befallen Marina, only that his father required that he scout and make sure the land was safe, and that he was incensed in his own manner. Raiyuk would oblige of course. He wanted to go with Chakliux, but his father's path split from his own and passed from the village.
As Raiyuk marched on to do a circuit of patrols, he heard Chakliux' voice carry further afield - with words of warning he could barely eke out; but it was enough to know he hunted, and not alone.
A touch of jealousy manifested in Raiyuk then. He knew not to trust the feeling; he knew his father fully capable and wise, and that his own patrols were necessary. Raiyuk was trusted to do this, and so he would.
