he'd never seen a place like this before.
the spires taunt him with their steep crimson shadows; the sun blazes even through the bitter frost of the mountains, and he is alone again. he wonders what waits for him on the other side of this range. it almost felt like home in the worst way possible.
it is secluded enough, for now, he thought. a good place to hide, to hunt only for himself, and to pray in solitude. a place to commune with the lord before the light shone upon a new path.
he cannot hide from god here. no one can.
She meant to go look for her mom, or for any of her family really, just to check in. Instead, she found herself drifting to the mountains. Paleo was gone, but there was something there worth having, and her mind just kept returning to it. It was distracting. She had problems sleeping, is all. And as wild as that party had been, the cactus shit was heavy. She didn’t want to see things that weren’t there. Sometimes she just wanted to forget anything was anywhere for a while.

She could have gone around the canyon, but decided to go through it instead for old time’s sake. Still ugly, full of a whole lot of nothing to look at. Tierra snorted to herself. Just like old Germ. She wondered how he was doing, but shoved the thought away. It was whatever.

Him, Towhee, Fennec, Paeon, Sybol… she’d see them again or she wouldn’t. A few of the names she missed more than others but she wasn’t about to cry over it when they were probably off living boring old lives somewhere. She probably should have asked around at the party, but… shit happened.

Tierra wasn’t paying nearly enough attention to her surroundings to notice she wasn’t alone down here.
GASPS so happy to see tierra again!!! <33 that being said i am so sorry for what she is about to experience LMFAO

he is not alone. another vessel — another warm body. this one, however, was particularly of interest to him.
he smelled her and then he heard her, the quiet footfalls and the heaving breaths. his gaze shifts and his shoulders straighten. he needed to be careful.
he does not alert her to his presence at first, merely leans his back against the spire behind him and closes his eyes. he is asleep; she would not suspect a thing, so he hoped.
not as sorry as she’s about to be I’m sure!! XD I love it!

Tierra almost walked entirely past before she realized someone was on the nearby rocks. What weirdo wouldn’t let someone know? She flinched, startled by his sudden appearance (to her) but didn’t say anything.

He was either rude or asleep, and either way, she wasn’t about to let him have the satisfaction of being interesting. If she kept going like she had better things to do it wouldn’t matter that she’d allowed some weirdo to apparently get the jump on her. So she kept on going in a determined path, right past the place where he slept.
she comes too close for him to ignore. he shifts, jaws parting in a soft yawn, and blinks imaginary grogginess from his gaze.
he, too, pretends to startle. he inhales sharply as his gaze meets the red-painted figure and notes the way the wintertime has made her plump. hm. he preferred his women smooth.
oh, hello, he innocently turns his gaze toward her face. may i... help you?
Sleeping then. Even if he wasn’t rudely ignoring her, his words weren’t much better. He was going to be that casual about someone like her? Who did he think he was talking to?

Not likely, she retorted, swishing her tail dismissively. Seems like you’re just fine where you’re at. Hope nothing snaps you up while you’re snoring. He wasn’t snoring but he was definitely not a seasoned traveler like she was. You wouldn’t catch her sleeping without watching her back.

Well. He would never catch her doing it. And that’s what counted.
a feisty one! andras was amused. his lips curl into something akin to a smile. very funny, he tuts, lurching forward and snaking his forelimbs out in front of him.
are you alone out here, then? a cock of a brow, a tiny glimmer of something cordial; a veneer that hid the way he wondered what her pulse would feel like beneath his teeth. it is awfully quiet out here. i haven't seen anybody for miles.
Duh. The only pack here left, like, ages ago. It’s not like it’s a big deal though. She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, obviously, and didn’t need a pack or anything backing her up. This guy seemed nice enough, if a little stupid.

Like, you wouldn’t catch me sleeping out in the open. You find a cave or something. She stated this like it was the most obvious thing in the world… because it kind of was, right? Sleep out here and anyone could see and sneak up on you. At least a cave someone might pass right by and leave you unbothered.
