She meant to go look for her mom, or for any of her family really, just to check in. Instead, she found herself drifting to the mountains. Paleo was gone, but there was something there worth having, and her mind just kept returning to it. It was distracting. She had problems sleeping, is all. And as wild as that party had been, the cactus shit was heavy. She didn’t want to see things that weren’t there. Sometimes she just wanted to forget anything was anywhere for a while.
She could have gone around the canyon, but decided to go through it instead for old time’s sake. Still ugly, full of a whole lot of nothing to look at. Tierra snorted to herself. Just like old Germ. She wondered how he was doing, but shoved the thought away. It was whatever.
Him, Towhee, Fennec, Paeon, Sybol… she’d see them again or she wouldn’t. A few of the names she missed more than others but she wasn’t about to cry over it when they were probably off living boring old lives somewhere. She probably should have asked around at the party, but… shit happened.
Tierra wasn’t paying nearly enough attention to her surroundings to notice she wasn’t alone down here.
not as sorry as she’s about to be I’m sure!! XD I love it!
Tierra almost walked entirely past before she realized someone was on the nearby rocks. What weirdo wouldn’t let someone know? She flinched, startled by his sudden appearance (to her) but didn’t say anything.
He was either rude or asleep, and either way, she wasn’t about to let him have the satisfaction of being interesting. If she kept going like she had better things to do it wouldn’t matter that she’d allowed some weirdo to apparently get the jump on her. So she kept on going in a determined path, right past the place where he slept.
Sleeping then. Even if he wasn’t rudely ignoring her, his words weren’t much better. He was going to be that casual about someone like her? Who did he think he was talking to?
Not likely,
she retorted, swishing her tail dismissively. Seems like you’re just fine where you’re at. Hope nothing snaps you up while you’re snoring.
He wasn’t snoring but he was definitely not a seasoned traveler like she was. You wouldn’t catch her sleeping without watching her back.
Well. He would never catch her doing it. And that’s what counted.
Duh. The only pack here left, like, ages ago. It’s not like it’s a big deal though.
She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself, obviously, and didn’t need a pack or anything backing her up. This guy seemed nice enough, if a little stupid.
Like, you wouldn’t catch me sleeping out in the open. You find a cave or something.
She stated this like it was the most obvious thing in the world… because it kind of was, right? Sleep out here and anyone could see and sneak up on you. At least a cave someone might pass right by and leave you unbothered.
