Deja loved to explore his new home each day. Mother and Father had established a local rendezvous site to meet at, but other than that the youngster was often out with Rhonen discovering Blacktail Deer Plateau.

Today, a light snow fell. Deja found a felled tree, a massive log. He jumped on it and practiced his balancing skills. Suddenly, he heard the scurrying scratches of a mouse inside the wood.
It had taken a full day of uninterrupted sleep to get her energy back after the trip to the plains.

Now, she sought to gather moss to add to her sleeping place before the snow covered it completely. Spying a fallen tree nearby, she began to trot towards it, thinking it to be a perfect moss-gathering spot, until a figure stopped her in her tracks. Too small to be Baldr, she soon recognised the tawny pelt of Deja,

It was no secret that Leifa had taken to Deja in particular. He was more outgoing than his siblings, but they had only really talked during gatherings! An uncharacteristic wave of nerves suddenly overcame the redhead as she drew closer - wanting to say hello but the words refused to come.

Her quietness was her saving grace in that moment, allowing her ears to catch the noises of the mouse too. Head cocked, she gazed at the boy as snowflakes gathered on her whiskers, eyes bright with excitement as she wondered if he would try and catch it.

Gyr had been walking through a small distance field, her companion flying above her at short distances. He landed on a low-ish branch in a small wooded area, he had found something that caught his attention.

She noticed he was eyeing a log, yet… she sensed something beyond the log and saw a pair of ear pop up behind it then, a body on top of it. Before she could get close, her bird flew to another lower branch, nearer and nearer to the log. She trotted after him, gave him a simple call and he came down upon her shoulder.

With her bird in tow, she approached the wolf…. Who was it? “Oh”, she remembered it “Hello Deja!” She stayed calm voiced so as not to scare the pup off the log. “How are you enjoying your new home? Well I hope.” She could tell he enjoyed messing around, with what seemed to be something inside. Maybe perhaps what caught its attention.
Apologies for falling inactive @Leifa and @Greyfalcon !! I’m going to wrap this thread with this response.

The sounds of a little creature inside the log made Deja’s head cock left and right as his large ears pinpointed the origin of its sound. Then, he abruptly stuck his muzzle into a hole, trying to catch it.

However, he turned up empty-handed.

It was then he caught sight of Greyfalcon, as well as Leifa quietly observing him in the distance.

“I’m doing well, thanks,” he responded with a boyish grin. “Come hunt with me!” he invited them both.

Then, he would spend the rest of the day chasing that pesky mouse!
