@Greyfalcon

Earlier that morning the sisters had separated to go look for food and had promised to meet each other some time around mid-day. All travels in winter pose the danger of you starving or ending up on the dinner-plate, but they had managed remarkably well so far. Yes - there were empty days, when their stomach growled - but the generosity of the mother nature the next day balanced it out.

Dwin had briefly stopped at the Fire Hot Springs to warm her freezing paws and rest for a bit and then she had set out eastwards, following a trail left by a small herd of deer. Probably just as eager to find food as their hunters were. Here and there the girl stopped to roll in the nice piles of fresh deer pellets lying in small heaps on the ground in order to mask her scent. But that action in the end turned out to be futile. Something else disturbed the herd, when they had just come within her sight, and they bolted.

Feeling a little disappointed, Dwin again changed her course, this time curious to follow the scent paths left by a nearby pack.
After she had concluded some business within the borders, she picked up a smell along the edge….  It smelled like that of a young deer, she followed it for as long as she could. Staying low and watching around her.

She heard a thump nearby, turning her head she looked off to the right side, then headed slowly in the direction.

*sniff sniff*

The smell was getting closer now, and she saw what it came into sight…. Was it a white fawn? She got closer and saw a fluffy pair of ears and a wagging tail.

A wolf! She was shocked, a young woman all the way out here? In the dead of winter? She cautiously trotted up to her, “Hello there, I am Greyfalcon of Raventhorpe.” She wondered what the young woman was doing so near the borders.
Dwin did not have a chance to read the local newsfeed for too long, because she was greeted by one of the members of the message board. She stood still and kept her body language neutral, while her gaze traced the other's frame, looking for any signs of aggressive or defensive behaviour. None showed, Dwin eased up a little, but not too much, because there were stories of people, who played nice, until you were within their clutches to become their lunch.

"Dwin from Brecheliant," she returned the greeting with a polite dip of her muzzle. The name of the pack was new, but then she had not been in this area for many months and therefore not aware of many comings and goings in the world. "I and my sister are travelling currently, collecting pack histories and stories," she explained. "Your pack's name suggest that you are not one of the Moon-pack clan, are you?" she asked.
The girl seemed a tad skeptical, how could she show her that she meant no harm? Maybe she couldn’t….

She claimed to be looking for history and stories, likely to share…. She couldn’t think of anything in particular. However, she glanced up to see the gyrfalcon soaring above, then something came to mind.

“Remember the birds,” she started, hoping not to sound too vague, “they are always near, when you see one you must realize you are not alone, but part of a bigger being.”

“This is knowledge from my own pack of origin.” “Pleased to meet you Dwin.” She asked if they were of a moon pack, she responded, “No, we are not. We are our own pack, this winter we merged with the pack Epoch.” She was sure others of her pack are full of stories and knowledges, “where are you sisters now?” Surely they weren’t separated she hoped….
Birds and the bigger being. This sounded interesting, even if it was a piece of nonesense expressed in a very eloquent and beautiful way. Dwin did not say any of this to the stranger and memorized the quote. Maybe Sylvie, who was more gifted in the art of story-building could find a good use for it.

"Well, one of them is married or about to get married in Moonglow. She found herself a handsome beau and is about to start a family this season," Dwin told. "Sylvie - the sister I am travelling with - at this point is looking for a square meal. And Frolic - is somewhere out in the world causing mayhem and havoc. If the sky fall on your tomorrow or an earthquake wakes you - be sure that's her doing," she smiled fondly as she said this.

"Her counterpart Glee is back at home fulfilling the meaning of her name. And there are two sisters I have never met - Hymnal and..." she paused, trying to recall, what was the name of the half-sibling from her father's first marriage. "Little Jay or something," she finished. "So that's all my sisters. What about yours? Where are they in the world?"
Quote:Yo, think we can wrap this up? :D I’ve got a busy week ahead with finals coming up.
The young one looked perplexed, had she been the unnecessarily vague? Oh well…. At least she shared the blurb. She had said her and her counterpart, or more an accomplice were out looking for food. A square meal as she had said word for word.

She listened intently of her sisters, my she had a lot of them. She tried not to look shocked. She asked about her own sisters, she went to speak, but could not find the words, she simply said. “My sisters….” She had not had any siblings… no one to share her young world with. No one to chat about the latest happenings about. She would not lie, “My siblings are near nonexistent, only an afterthought in the back of my mind, and an image of my imagination.” All she had was her parents, that was fine…. She supposed. She had thought of turning and going home, it was getting quite late, and she didn’t want to be gone long among the borders. It saddened her. She wanted to go home.
Sure!

Dwin felt that the conversation was not going the way one would call smooth and she sensed being in the danger of awkward silences, where no one wants to be the first to take off. However, a long and urgent howlf from Sylvie reached her just in time to avoid that. "My sister's calling - sorry, I have to go," she told the other girl with an apologetic smile and then sped off.
