Tori prowled through the northern lands, her eyes narrowed as she moved. Her fur bellowed lightly as the wind passed through the area and her stomach growled. She wanted to eat, of course… the hardships of winter were not lost on her… she simply had not yet found prey she had been able to bring down by herself. It had not been for lack of trying, and a few close calls with certain death. One had been nearly by antlers, another by a rather pissed off badger with a chip of their own on their shoulder.

Both had been unfortunate instances, of course… but she had endured both. A little dirt on the wound and some hunger panes and she had been on her way once more. And now, it appeared she found herself once more in a similar situation. Her chocolate eyes focused intently on the sigh of a few white hares scurrying about… they were slower, less deadly… all it took was one good chase.
@Eira is Winter Song :> also hallo, heretic and mixed, if you're reading u. u

A man of sunset and fire, who often kept his Winter Song warm though the peltsmith held many in her den and even more so a thick coat of her own. He walked these lands, to discover what lay beyond - were there hare, to catch? To restock their stores?

Silent of all but a twitching nose and the wind behind an ear flick.

Nose to the ground.

Rabbit?

She loved rabbit.
She was so focused on the rabbit, that Tori had nearly missed the scent that wafted through the air. Her eyes drifted, locking in and honing into it as she noticed him standing there… his nose to the ground… she could not resist the snarl that slipped from her maw in a challenge, something ravenous in her eyes that spoke for her. Mine.

And no one would take what was hers… not even a man who appeared to be kissed by the sun based on the coloration of his pelt. The rabbit began to stir, and she would charge forward, aiming to pounce atop it and kill it to secure her prey with a swift bite to the neck before the other might get to it to legitimize his claim.
Before he could react or even register what was going on, the rabbit was dead.

His head tilted. He was going to catch his own, silly wolf!

But... her presence intrigued him! What was she doing, all by herself? He wuffed a greeting, happy to sit and wait for her to be done with her meal. She caught it fair and square, after all! and this wasn't moonpack land, so... it wasn't his place to defend prey that wasn't his.

Who was she?! Wolves loved saying their names and such!

Who are you, stranger?!
She felt the rabbit’s neck snap, her gaze turning now to the sun-kissed wolf who was staring at her… incredibly happy, a thought in itself that disgusted her. What was there to be happy about? She could not help but wonder if perhaps there were some other challenges the man faced that caused him to have such a happy demeanor of life.

Either way, her teeth mashed, hungrily ripping a piece off to appear as threatening and territorial as possible… and yet, the man was still there. “Back away from my kill!” She asserted, her voice booming over the terrain as her eyes further narrowed…. Perhaps her hunger was taking away any manipulative edge to her tone that she might have.

If she were less hungry, she might have seen it as an opportunity, but for now she only saw threat... he was too close. He was still far from her, but it was still too close.
Noh. Hurnt. he wuffed softly, hoping his roughened voice would portray his unwillingness to go any closer. To further illustrate his point, he lay down, looking at her with a tiny tail wag.

He didn't want her kill! No, not at all! He kept himself fed nicely.

Hungreh? he asked, quietly.

She had to be! Why else would she want to protect a rabbit so fiercely?

He wondered about Rabbit Hunter - was she okay? Why was she out here, all alone?
méprisable!

they scuttled their way into her hunting grounds with the uneducated confidence of beggars come to pick from royal orchards. their scent upon her reaches stung her to near tears as her heeled boots swallowed acres in search of--

aha! là!

la reine du Feumont entered the scene with a scream, leaping onto a high, icebound rock.

The wolf seemed to notice how on edge he was and kept him back, the stench of others becoming more clear as the blood scent dissipated from her nose. Her nose narrowed his eyes for the moment. Perhaps it was a ruse to make her relax. She calmed, though she remained slightly tense and ready to flip back into such a state…

She took another bite, swallowing it as some of her hunger pains eased for the moment… until she heard a scream, her tail lashing as she turned her head towards the creature that had appeared, snarling back in a feral manner.

“Who are you?” She spat at the creature, her mind lost from the wolf for a moment.
The sunset man's head whipped around for a moment.

He'd not heard the cat approach but it was obvious now! Fallen's muzzle upturned in a soft growl of warning.

Who was this cat?

This wasn't anyone's packland! Did... did cats even run in packs?

Whatever! It wasn't important at that moment!

What?
paysans! proclaimed the mountain mademoiselle. zhis ies not your keengdom!

her whip cracked in the air behind her, her nails dug into icebound rock.

zhis is Feumont, kingdom de la reine madeleine maryse simone - le mien! make yourzelves scarze, bruts! thieves!

another angry yowl.
Quote:She's so rude!
The courage appeared, speaking her tongue mixed with a strange one, resulting in an accent that was hard for Torianna to understand. Her nose twitched before her nostrils flared and the fur on the back of her spine rose on edge. Could she take a cougar? That she was not certain.

“And what makes you think I respect the land claimed by a cat?” She spat back without any concern for her own safety. Why would she have that? Besides, she was outnumbered! Assuming that the other wolf could help fight the cat if she decided to push it.

“So fuck off.”
