it was just for a walk. she told the maid. i need to clear my head.

she fled in plain sight.

now she follows the faint trail of her beloved, aided only by her memory of his scent. the only thing accompanying her is the sound of crunching snow and the moon she loved as much as him. she'd grown to recognize it from anywhere, and she left soon enough that the scent was faint. but not unrecoverable.

now, it grew strongest here. soon she'd be reunited, and that alone got her heart to pound against her chest. normally she wouldn't have allowed herself to be ruled by such girlish desires, but in her heart she knew this was the man for her. no squabble would ever deny her — should never deny her — of what she wants most.
Nivis was unaware of what happened to Reyna as he hadn’t seen her in a while. The time of how long didn’t matter and so didn’t matter the upcoming and inevitable future that was soon enough about to catch up to him.

Resting peacefully on a snowy ground then, he didn’t bother lifting his head up or caring about the lively surroundings. Wind ruffled his fur and snow hit him in the face, even a small mammal of some kind approached without his notice.

Reyna—hmm… There was no reason to go to look for her. They were never meant to meet after all, which was why his ignorance and hatred grew. Apparently though, this wasn’t the case for her who didn’t hesitate to chase after his long lost self.
reyna trudged forward with caution as she ventured deeper into the glacier. nivis was not the only one who's scent she'd picked up. a cougar was nearby, and reyna was in no mood to take it on. she was fortunate enough then when she finally set eyes on the man she was looking for.

nivis.. she sighed, voice slick as she nudged him. her lips curled into a smile as she found beauty in his features, observing them once again in a long time.
One, two… something cold and wet touched his hip, then his paw, then he finally lifted his head up to see. A yawn escaped before his sleepy eyes caught the glimpse of white; fur so light he could easily mistake for snow. Hers.

With raised eyebrows Nivis stared. “Reyna,” he said. At first the response glowed with a surprise, in a second its tone changed. “Go away, you are bothering me.” There was a role of the indifferent one he had to play and he did so very well, ignoring the variety of scents of territory he shouldn’t be in.
reina's head cranes back in shock. the fur in the back if her neck bristles, but it was not because of icy winds.
bothering you? she repeats, as if to confirm to herself that is what she heard. she scoffs — how dare you.. her words drip like venom, a growl twisting her smile into a snarl.

the only thing bothering you will be the cougar when it finds you here, fool! she then tugs at his nape, trying to get him to stand. maybe she could drag him away, like a prized carcass.
do you know how far i had to walk to get to you?! i could rip your throat out!
“Then you should have stayed there where you came from! I didn’t beg you to come.” Nivis growled but seemingly still unbothered. He even let her attempt to drag him around before looking back up at her tall form.

She was so beautiful, he thought. It reminded him of why he was so weak for her, still refusing to express how exactly this reunion made him feel however. “Besides my dear Reyna, rip my throat out then. With your weak puppy press, it might sting a little at its worse.” He babbled, then leaned up, closer to her, until her scent filled up his nostrils and he finally started nuzzling her. Fur so warm and scent so sweet, Nivis whined silently.
nivis made little sense to her sometimes.

but she reciprocated his embrace. the taller of the two, she doted on him, licking his crown. your tongue lies too much~ one day, i'll have to rip it out. her growl fizzles to a gentle whisper. she does not allow her legs to rest, however.

if she rests now then she'd never leave. besides, this is just one of many lofty goals that reyna has in mind. and now, its complete.
she had quite a lot to think about while on her lover's trail, so naturally she'd made a plan for what the next several years of her life would look like once reunited. it's time for step two.

we must get going soon though, my love.. this is claimed territory.. i'm sure you've noticed.
“Do I want to, Reyna? I really don’t.” Nivis yawned in response and licked her chin, slowly moving onto her pointy ears to clean next. “They could come at us and we would win because I am smart, unlike you.”

Knowing Reyna probably had a point he was still far too lazy to move and do anything that involved walking. This place was cold, the scent was approaching and intoxicating the fresh air and it was also easy to tell Reyna was getting nervous, impatient even. As if they were gonna live in a pack together Nivis had repulse for. “Where would you even want to go, hmm? Back home? Where you belong? You are foolish if you think I’d follow you in this case.”
mmn.. don't be foolish, dear. she whines, denying him of touch by moving past him. if he won't give her what she wants then she'll just not give him what he wants. very simple.

besides, i have no intention of returning. you shouldn't assume such a thing. she admonishes him with a giggle. our home is here now. not on this glacier, but here. these wilds. the cogs turn in her head.

you've seen how lush it is. how vibrant even under darkness. it's perfect, for you and i. we'll just have to find somewhere to build our nest.
“A nest, Reyna?” Nivis asked. Only partly he was teasing; the rest was his genuine confusion. “You want small puppies now? When you are wed off to someone else? Aren’t you a sly bitch, trying to get me into a conflict with others, hmm?

The tension between them erupted and Nivis didn’t even know why he was interested in the first place but he certainly enjoyed the little silent growling, almost purring. He stretched out his legs, standing up properly now. “I supposed you wanting us to form a family was just a silly joke of yours but apparently you were deadly serious about it. Interesting how you come to see me after months and this is the first thing you say. Ah, my dear Reyna, spring is coming up, isn’t it?”
sly? speak for yourself. there's nothing more simple than desiring a child, nivis. as for my bethrothal, it's all in the past now~ she coos, waving it off the side like waste.

arranged marriages are out of fashion, anyways. you should feel blessed i didn't settle for your brother, even when you have such a filthy mouth.

spring was fast approaching. it'd be here in just a couple of months, she thinks. exactly why i want to make haste. you're right — i really wasn't joking when i said i wanted a family.
“So you came up to me only so we can mate and have puppies together?” Nivis questioned. A little frown appeared in this expression but the tease remained. It was entertaining to see Reyna’s reactions when it came to the family and its establishment topic.

“I must say I am impressed if it’s the case. You traveling all the way over here just so you can beg me for children, Reyna.”

Having a family wasn’t his priority but having his mate around definitely was and so did Nivis giggled, shaking his head as he circled around the snow-white wolf. She was at the age but Nivis wasn’t the family kind of a guy.
of course not.. partly.

if you don't want cubs that much then i'll just ask the next brute i find in my path who will. she holds her head high as she speaks, each step so gentle it just barely leaves a print on the snow.

she didn't need to drag him afterall — all she needed to do was to imply an offer she knows he cannot turn down. and it seems to her that she has him hooked.
Nivis scoffed. The idea of his beloved with someone else made him seemingly nervous, however there was also no reason to fall for her little game. Reyna would never go to anyone else, especially if she came running to him like this… didn’t even hesitate to leave everything behind and avoided her arranged marriage.

Still though, if she really wanted she could get what her heart desired from someone else and Nivis knew that—she was too pretty.

“You wouldn’t, you like me too much for it. Besides, I have never said I don’t want to mate with you. I just wanted to know if the only reason you came up to me with was having children, which I will happily give you anytime.”
the scent of strangers fades as she leads nivis through the territory. wind blew against her coat, pale blonde locks of fur flowing, but she kept moving no matter how badly the wind wished to halt her.

are you confident i wouldn't? you're not the only handsome man in the wilds, i assure you. a flash of her pearly whites after she laughed. she truly was lying, but it was fun to tease him now that they were away from the prying eyes of her kingdom.

soon enough, she passes the edge of the territory, where the scent is at its most faint. by leaving these glaciers, she'll be even farther away from home than she already is.

with nivis by her side, though, that will not be a problem.

closing thread after this!
