his elders did not say much, as expected given the man's lack of developed vocal cords and an even simpler vocabulary, but there were many things one did not need words to teach. one such was a rite of which he sought out first Winter Song and excitedly asked for her to follow with many play bows and bluffing darting off into the snow.

but sunset's goal was to seek out Silver Shadow. after all, it was his tradition to lead a lady back to the parents of the pack he originated from, for natal leaders to assess her worth as carrier of a bloodline. in leu of his parents - whom he was at least halfway certain he had and he had no idea where they were, or why he'd travelled so far away from them - he took his winter-white woman to Silver Shadow.

The chief was not unaware of what had been going on around the territory. Eira's time had come and gone, and now they had only to wait for her scent to change again. It was a done deal, in Dutch's eyes — so he was surprised when Fallen Sun called so importantly for him to attend.

He hurried toward them, his ears high atop his head as he assessed the health of either wolf.

"What is it?" he asked, looking between the two lovers.
