omg i've been neglecting poor baby mae and she's already been neglected enough *clings to her*
all welcome but hoping @Scarlett will be able to pop by :p

*edit* sorry i rambled i just had my muse flowing since i hadn't played her in a while umph

Seeing her first snowflake had not been much of an acomplishment or memorable event for the young female, if anything it would go down in history as the most pathetic afternoon she'd had. Like the time she had had a beetle stuck to her nose and the time she'd gotten her legs covered in red fire ants she had thought the little cold flake that fell onto her nose was a savage bug that had returned to claim vengange on her for ever having messed with the invertebrate species.
It is needless to say Maera went complete apeshit after that though thankfully there had not been anyone around to witness -- because as usual, Maera was on her own.

Though Daddy had returned, (she had not yet been notified of her mother's late arrival) she had spent her waking hours the same way she had when they were all still gone. Like every other morning she squeezed herself out of her father's grasp and after smearing a soft kiss in his forehead she ran out the door and into the open lands of the Glacier, heading directly to the place that had acted as her refuge during those long weeks of solitude.
The Ultraconfidential Girl Club.

She arrived quickly, thank to her new spindly teenager legs she was able to run faster and reach her father's shoulder without having to stand on the tips of her toes, but also thanks to her stupid adolescent body, she was not able to squeeze in the hollow log that made up the base of the club with the same ease as when she was a little blob of fat.

After securing the perimeter and sniffing at a particularly intriguing stone, Maera slipped into the log's tight doorway, struggling to adjust her long legs in order to make room for the rest of her body. "I'm such a chub" she heaved as she squeezed her bum inside the tight space remaining in the log.

Inside were the memories of a whole childhood in the form of different objects that the girl had once plucked from the floor. Feathers, leaves, flowers and rocks laid in the further corner of the log, all neatly arranged for the girl to admire.
For some reason, Maera had begun to think that the objects she hoarded were more meaningful than the events they represented, because unlike the snowflakes, her treasures would not attack her.

Here she is!

The white wolf trotted over the glacier that was her new home. After waking up she decided that she should explore her new home. Her coat camouflaged perfectly with the icy white background of the glacier. She made her way down the glacier to the small lake. Scarlett took a few refreshing cold gulps of water before continuing on her way. She noticed a small forest that might contain a hare for her to snack on. Scarlett's light feet padded over the cold ground as the light rain drizzled down. After she got under the cover of the trees she shook out her damp fur. Scarlett looked around to check her surroundings. This might be a good place to dig a den!

Scarlett walked on to then see a pup climbing into a log? She watched curiously how the juvenile wiggled her way into the wooden log. Scarlett trotted closer in curiosity. She got to the other end of the log and sunk through her front paws. She was a small wolf but that didn't mean she could fit in there like the younger wolf. The white wolf got her head to the opening. The hidden young wolf got the scent of her pack, something that she was still trying to get adjusted to. "What are you doing?," she asked curiously. Her red eyes scanned over the other female and all the objects that lay in front of her paws.

The white wolf's tail wagged a bit. It was time to work on her relationships within her new pack. She would start with this little one. "I'm Scarlett aka the latest addition to our pack," Scarlett introduced to make her more at ease with her, the stranger, presence. Scarlet lowered her behind so she way comfortably lying down, her head resting on her paws so she could look inside the log.

Each and every one of the objects laying at her feet held a meaning to the young female. And while they might look pretty ordinary, in Maera's eyes they were her most precious possessions -- but it wasn't the glimmer of the stones or the unique patterns the leaves and feathers sported what captivated her. It was the underlying meaning what charmed her. Every one of the stones, feathers, flowers, and leaves she had collected, which were neatly arranged in five six different sections, were meant to represent a loved one that had gone away.
Danica would be soon making the list too.

Sometimes, the objects scattered on the floor would reming her of their lost relatives; a shiny stone of silver to remind her of her sister, the feather of a robin with Valtyr's name written on it, a soft cotton-like ball to reincarnate her chubby brother Larus, a bright red petal for Tuwawi and a marbled pebble for Dad. Soon the collections grew as she realized that Jokull didn't lie only in a stone but also in the softness of a tulip and that Valtyr could not be represented by a feather alone.

She continued to sniff over the small artifacts, nudging one of them into place as she began to hum under her breath. Maera who was still oblivious to the other female's presence couldn't help but to jolt in utter terror as she saw Scarlett's pair of red eyes staring curiously at her. "WHAT THE-- " she managed to yap before she bumped her head against the roof of the log and squirmed awkwardly to straightened herself back up.

Maera then threw herself over her treasure, greedily shileding them from the ruby-eyed female's view in fear she might try to take something away. She opened her mouth again to ask her improvised guest who she was but before she could emit a sound she had already introduced herself. "H-how did you get here?" she asked furrowing her brow in deep thought. She knew that the fact that she had named the place as an Ultraconfidential club didn't make it inbvisible to others.

OMGGGG I can totally see that!! Amazing.

The female realized she scared the young wolf and shuffled a bit back to give the other wolf more space. She licked over her lips and curiously watched how the other acted. It was almost like she was protecting something? Scarlett wasn't sure if it were the objects but there wasn't anything other she could protect. The adult's head tipped when hearing the thump. "Ouch. Are you hurt?,' she asked with a bit of worry in her her voice. She wanted to crawl forward to check but she won't fit in that log. Plus she didn't want to scare the pup even more. "What is your name?"

Scarlett thought about her answer for a moment. "By foot actually," she dryly replied. She had to grin a little bit at that. "I saw you climb into this log, with difficulty I might add, and I was curious why." Her red eyes scanned over the pup's body language. "I can go away if you like. Keep this your secret place. But soon you aren't going to fit. You might want a den to hide in," she calmly explained. Scarlett then decided that she wanted to help the younger girl. The white wolf would be sad for her if she had gotten too big to reach her precious objects. "I could help you dig one. It will keep you warm too!"

Her tail flickered with a hint of excitement. She still needed a den of her own. Maybe she could share it with the girl so she wouldn't be alone. Was that a selfish move? Scarlett didn't thought long about it. "But only if you want to."

And just like that the bloodshot eyed female who had popped her head into the log retreated, leaving Maera alone and confused in the middle of the log. Though she was out of sight, she was not out of range, Maera could still her voice at the other end of the log, "Yep, fine and dandy" she barked while flattening her ears on her skull. Even if Scarlett's bright red eyes were not on her she could feel the heat on her cheeks grow -- at least she had not been there to witness her ridiculous reaction to snow too.

"My name is Maera Sveijarn" she barked as she began to slither outside with a much less graceful movement that when she had entered, especially because again her bum was having trouble fitting throught he tight space she'd had chosen as a child. Maybe the female was right, the old hollow log was not a suitable place for her to hang out anymore. What if she got stuck in the middle of the log like a sardine in a can? With no one to know the location of her hideout, her precious heaven could quickly turn into her own coffin.
Wow. Morbid.

"Oh I don't actually live here" she barked, though theorically this had been the only place she turned to during her childhood, "I have a den -- and I don't think my dad would want me to move out" she barked with a slight shrug. Truthfully even if he was ok with it she would still be reluctant to leave him after having missed him so badly.

"Tell you what" she barked then, suddenly excited by the brilliant idea formulating inside her mind. "What if we dig a den here -- since I obviously need to move my stuff and have it be the new base of the club" she mused, her voice wavering at the end as she realized that Scarlett didn't even know about the club. "Oh, yeah the Club is secret ok, I'm telling you because you seem good n' all and you have a point.. and we're lacking members" not to mention your spontaneous arrival gives me no choice , she mused inwardly hoping the female would feel somewhat excited by the idea as her friend Arabella had also been.

"And because you've seen to much so my other option would be to probably kill you" she added with a wide smile weighing on her narrow features. Despite the thick cloak of disaster her family had been wrapped in and stripped Maera off all of her loved ones, she had kept her humour intact.

Scarlett looked up over the log when she saw a little tail flicker. Her eyes trained now on the struggling pup that was trying to get out of the log. She had to hold in her laugh. She wasn't laughing at the young wolf, oh no, she was merely amused. It all looked very adorable. Scarlett repeated her name into her mind so she wouldn't forget, along with the young wolf's scent. She locked it up together into her memory. The white wolf got to her feet as the pup was out of the confined space.

"Well nice to meet you, Maera," she spoke once she could look at the other. A soft chuckle rung through the air. "I wasn't implying you were. I thought you might wanted another hiding spot. I don't know from what you are hiding..?" Scarlett kept in mind that Maera's dad was also in their pack. She didn't know which wolf her dad was but she needed to be on her toes. She didn't want to intrude or make his mate upset for hanging out with the young wolf. Another thought process. The young Maera had not mentioned her mother just yet. Curious.

"Oh-- Oh it is a club!," Scarlett then smiled which you could describe as a wolfish grin. "Well then it will be even more special we will just be digging you the best clubhouse. I will keep your club secret, promise." Scarlett stepped closer to the pup. "It must be difficult to find members for a club that is secret, don't you think?," she teased lightly. "I can be a member if you like? How many members are there? Just.. you?" Scarlett's tail was gently wagging. So many questions were bubbling in her mind.

"Oh I have no doubt in that," she replied, referring to the being killed part. She liked the humor of this juvenile. Scarlett walked past her and looked around. "We should find a good spot for the club's den. Are you going to scout the area with me?"

The girl's feathery tail waved in the air as she enjoyed the way her own name rolled off the other female's tongue. What had she said her name was again? Ruby? Oh, no Scarlett. "Same to you Scarlett!" she yapped while letting her tongue hang limply from her mouth. Even if the àck had been founded by her own parents in hopes it would become the little Sveijarn's kingdom, Maera had to admit she didn't even know half of the faces walking around in the pack. Aside from her inmidiate family, she had only ever known Danica and Arabella, both of which were far gone now.
Hopefully Scarlett here wouldn't follow their footsteps..

The snow coated female tipped back her head in laughter, asking for a moment what was it that had made the girl come into the further ends of the Glacier to shove herself inside a log as if she were a squirrel. "Not hiding -- just hangin' out" she barked thinking that she could've easily lied about taking the log as a refuge of the savage felines that had taken her brother but soon dismissed the thought since setting camp near the borders was probably asking for the opposite.

The questions of 'why' were soon dropped after Maera revealed the true purpose of her hideout only to be brusquely replaced by a full interrogation about the Club's politics and members. Maera watched the female with amusement, waiting until she was done burping up questions so she could answer. "Keeping the secret is the number one requisite -- that and being a girl" she explained briefly while showing her new friend what the UGC's acronym (Ultraconfidential Girl Club) stood for.

"The Club was meant for just my sis' and I at first, you know? So we didn't need anymore members" she then added, regarding her previous comment. It was hard to find members, really the only other member -- Arabella -- had also forced her way in by appearing suddenly at the Club's door. "There was two -- counting myself.. but now it's just me" she shrugged, wishing she would've at least had time to show the gentle female her collections before she disappeared into thin air.

"And now you" she then declared, her tail now swishing wildly from side to side. As soon as they were done with the den, she'd get an 'official ceremony' -- one which Maera had yet to come up with. "Yup" she squeaked, nodding her head and bouncing away from the old log as she waited for her to follow.

The woods around them seemed to have quite some good spots for dens. These woods reminded a bit of her homeland's woods. How curious that she had walked to the same type of forest. She wanted a different life not the same. Scarlett smiled fondly at the young wolf. She enjoyed hanging out with puppies and young wolves probably because she could never really be a pup herself. There were always practices and how to watch out to not be seen by humans. Yellowstone was infested with them actually, especially in summer. She felt suffocated.

"I will keep the secret... and I am a girl," she drawled. Her tail wagged less avidly when the pup talked about losing members, or well, a member. Mae's sister. Scarlett didn't dare to ask what happened or why her sister was gone. She could only think of one thing. How horrible it was for the small girl. Scarlett wasn't going to remind her much more of her loss by asking what happened.

A happy yip came from her lips when she was in the Ultraconfidential Girl Club. "I'm in the club? I've never been in a club before this is exciting," she barked as her tail was back to wagging. A thick and fluffy white fur being swept from left to right in her movement. The white female followed the pup and walked next to her. Her nose scanned around for something that they could use. Maybe there was a fox den close by, this way they would have less work to do.

Scarlett sniffled out an old badger hole but the location wasn't as nice. It wasn't perfect so she decided it wasn't good enough for her club house. "Maybe we should just dig one ourselves on the perfect location."

Humans were another type of monster Maera had not had the misfortune to come across. Her heart was wild, feral and untocuhed; just like the Glacier. Even if she had not liked it in the start, she had fallen in love with the peaks and barren grounds of the Glacier; even with the sadness it held in it's interior, Maera loved it.
She loved her log and loved the lonely den her father and her slept in.

"Then congratulations and welcome aboard!" she giggled softly as the ruby-eyed woman affirmed being a lady. Though she held no particular dislike for men, she simply felt a greater connections with wolves of her same gender. Besides, the 'girls rule, boys drool' rule she had established with her sister still stood firmly in her heart.
Only her father and her two annoyingly lovable brothers had managed to enter her heart. Even if at some point they had all exited her life.

Scarlett's own smile brought the young teen to laugh too, swishing her own tail around as she shared the female's excitement. She then realized that now that someone was actuallly in the Club, she'd have to expose her precious collection to another's eyes. She flicked an ear back uncomfortably as she thought of how she'd do it -- truth was that she had been so busy craving company she had forgotten that she'd have to crawl of her hermit shell in order to maintain Scarlett's friendship.

"I'd like to keep it close to the log.. since well it's where it all began..." she mused out loud, casting a long glance at the improvised treasure chest she had made for herself. "I-I'll show you then, what's inside" she decided, turning her head around once more to meet Scarlett's eyes with her own hazel orbs.

Scarlett's ears caught the giggle of joy. A wonderful sound to her hears. The female grinned. "Thank you dear. I will honor the role I've gotten in your club," she smiled. The wolf traced back to the log and then looked to the other side. A bid old pine tree was close by. Scarlett stood in front of it. The roots of this tree could be an amazing frame. She turned to the small wolf. "This spot would be perfect!," she exclaimed. Her front paws already started eagerly digging so there was a start. Although it wouldn't be that much of a secret den.

The albino stopped and looked at Mae. "Sweety. If you don't want to tell me you don't have to. I will wait. When you are ready to share it I will be all ears to listen to your story. Deal?," she smiled and gave a fond lick over the top of younger wolf's head. "But see, we could make the entrance small. Not too small of course. And we could dig chambers so one can be the main room and you could dig one for your objects to stay safe," Scarlett suggested. She was excited. She always had a thing for digging. Maybe because it provided a place to hide.

Her new friend's bubbly attitude did not bother Maera, who despite having being more reserved druing her childhood was now beginning to crack her shell -- a task that was easier said than done. With her eyes still lingering over the hollow opening that held her treasures, Maera was relieved that Scarett didn't press on. She accepted the female's soft kiss and nodded slowly, switching her focus to the architecture plans Scarlett began blabbering about.

"Small enough to keep nosy peeps away" she commented, not wanting anyone but her and Scarlett to be able to enter. Then, with her own tail swaying back and forth Maera stepped to work, following the female's lead on this task. Though as a kid Maera had enjoyed playing around in the dirt and getting her feet and stomach glazed with mud she had zero experience digging dens.

"Let's do it then!" she yipped, bumping her snout against Scarlett's shoulder before throwing herself over the chosen spot so she could beging digging.

My last post

Scarlett loved the young one's enthusiasm. It lightened her mood so much. Maybe she was still a pup herself because she never really got to be one. Although, she did like to take the mother role. She watched the pup dig. "Try to focus on one spot it will go faster that way. It also helps if you picture scratching at someone or something you dislike," she advised with a grin on her face. The pale female let Mae dig the first part and then took over to finish the work more quickly.

The day went by faster than she imagined. Scarlett never asked about the objects she knew that one day the girl would want to tell her because she was such a close friend. Of course being close friends didn't happen in one day. Scarlett had the patience. Plus she liked pack bonding anyhow. That reminded her that she should spend some time to get to know her alpha. Maybe make him like her more. Scarlett wanted to be useful.
