hunting lesson for Mae? <3

It had been more than two days since she had seen Scarlett.
And though the thought of her abandoning the Glacier and the Club should not have troubled her little mind after their time together, she couldn't help but wonder if she'd have to start a pile of objects to honor the lost albino too. With a hushed sigh Maera took it upon her own paws to find at least the direction where her scent had laid last.

Quickly, yet hesitantly, she exited the gates of the Glacier, doing so for the fist time in months. She didn't want to be gone too long, especially not with her shattered father still in the pack, but she was determined not to lose another friend again. Not so easily at least.
She had been far too young and small to try to convince Bazi, Danica or even Arabella to stay, but now that she was halfway to becoming a yearling she felt like she could at least plea her case to Scarlett in case she had indeed decided to go.

After walking a good mile away from the Glacier's borders she tipped her head back and let out a ripping howl to erupt from her chest, summoning her friend, @Scarlett , to come from wherever she was.

Rubs hands together. Lets have some fun with these two cuties. I'm ready!

Scarlett was just about to cross into Glacier lands. Her fur intoxicated with Raziel's manly scent. The female had decided that she should visit Mae, especially after her talk with Malachi. She could be a teacher for the yearling, a much needed teacher if Scarlett was honest. The albino had no clue if the younger female's parents or siblings even existed. Malachi stayed mysterious about it and the other pack members probably didn't know either. Her head snapped up when she was almost at the club's den. She could hear the female's howl and immediately was worried something was wrong.

The pale she-wolf shot forward, chasing after her motherly feelings. Maera was technically more like a friend but Scarlett couldn't help but feel motherly over the younger one. The female let out a long howl while running that she was approaching her. Scarlett had speed with her and soon saw her club and pack mate. The she-wolf let out some barks in greeting before slowing down. She was so relieved that the smaller one was okay she licked all over her cheek and top of her head before plopping down on her belly to catch her breath. Her pink tongue hanging out so she could cool down after her sprint.

"I was almost at our clubhouse, looking for you!," Scarlett notified and let out a quick smile while panting. Her red eyes were focussed on the other girl with some curiosity. "Missed me?" The last thing Scarlett wanted was that Mae felt abandoned. She scolded for spending all her time with Raziel the last few days. "A certain alpha told me that you needed some hunting lessons. Would you like some from your fellow club mate?,' he she asked, not sure if Mae just wanted to hang out or was willing to broaden her skill set.
yuss! is this before or after scar's enconter with laksha?

The few minutes that went by as she waited for an answer were particularly worrying for the young girl, who despite being used to saying goodbye still felt sick everytime she did so. Suddenly another howl rose into the air, carrying the response Maera was dying to hear.
At least she wouldn't be left waiting in vain.

Soon, her friend's pale form materialized in the distance making the fire-kissed Sveijarn light her face with a warm smile. Though Scarlett was quick to come and greet her, planting a soft kiss on her forehead, Maera was also quick to see through her friend's casual demeanour. With her body tensing up as the intoxicating scent of a stranger reached her nose, the teen narrowed her eyes in confusion as Scarlett continued to speak, paying no heed to her reaction or even bothering to explain it.

"Missed me?"
"Yeah.." she barked softly, her nostrils flaring as she continued to analyze the peculiar odour that hung from her friend's coat. Had she encountered a loner while she was gone? If she was an aspiring Outrider or something of the sort it might've made more sense, but until now, Scarlett had not mentioned any interest of that sort..

Before she could ask, however, Scarlett changed the course of the conversation, turning the focus from herself to Maera instead. At the mention of the Alpha, the young Sveijarn could not help but quirk her brow -- during her time here (which was basically the majority of her life) the two had never exchanged a word. Not even when the Sveijarn royal family crumbled had he seeked her out -- but neither had she.

"I guess I could use some", she admitted then, placing all other thoughts about Malachi at the back of her mind. It was not as she had never hunted before, but it was not as she was able to bring more than an occasional hare or a squirrel to the pack. Maybe this was Malachi's subtle way of saying 'be useful for once'.
How nice.

It was only a light injury so she wouldn't be too bothered by it since she just ran at full speed to Mae. But lets say for the sake of being realistic that it hasn't happened yet! :3 No injuries for Scar at the moment. Maera also has to wrap her mind around the strange scent. XD Also, I am pretty sure Malachi did not mean it in that way (T.T).... Mae you shouldn't think like that! Haha.

The little ones little bark made her heart melt a bit. Mae had missed her and now Scarlett thought about it, she really missed the pup too. There was no pressure when she was hanging out with Maera. It was just her being her and doing what she liked; Taking care of things smaller than her. Although, the other girl was far from being a little pup. She was close to being a full-grown yearling. Still, Scarlett saw that as no excuse to not play mommy for a little while.

"Well, alright. Walk with me," she offered and then started walking at a pace comfortable for the both of them. Scarlett did not realize that Mae was bothered with her scent, or well, Raziel's strong and dominant male scent. Talking about him made everything much more real. She wasn't sure if she was ready for that, but she wanted to tell everyone how wonderful the silver prince was to her. He was no killer towards her at least. He was so strong just like a bear or a lion! A soft dreamy sigh left her lips before she focussed again.

"Hunting is really fun once you catch something, before it is really frustrating and rather difficult. But don't be discouraged, Mae, I bet you will be a skillful hunter. Once spring shows its face you can practice the lessons I am about to learn you. Winter is a difficult season for hunter after all," She started chatting, giving the pup her full focus. She didn't want to treat Maera too childishly because she didn't want her to feel like she stupid. She wondered how much the little female knew of hunting in general. Scarlett realized that she was giving the teenager her most important lessons. If she failed Maera wouldn't be able to care for herself later on.

Scarlett got with Mae to small forest. She plopped down on her butt into a clearing that had some small bushes and dried grasses around it. Dashes of white snow revealed the open spots in the canopy of leaves above them. As Scarlett sat down she turned to the younger female. "I am the prey animal to your liking. Try and get close enough without me noticing," she instructed. "Yes, you are allowed to jump me," she chuckled, wanting to give her the feeling that she would actually manage to do so. Maybe Scarlett would be surprised that she actually could.
using my new gift <3 from Anthony OMG I adore it
Also Mae thinks that because she's a teen and just things the world is against her
psshhh teenagers >>

While Maera had craved her friends company during the time she was gone, she had held her doubts about her ever coming back. It was an involuntary reaction of her mind that was simply triggered by departures; by goodbyes. Thankfully this had not been a 'goodbye' but a 'see you later', and even more shocking real one. Many times she had heard those condemning words of farewell from her loved ones but it had been even more times that they had been the last she heard from them.

With her head nodding once quickly she set after the white coated female, the tip her tail waving lightly behind her as she trotted beside her. And while the young Sveijarn didn't mind playing 'duckling' while following Scarlett's guide, playing 'daughter' was where she drew the line. Maera had one mother and one alone -- even in her absence or blinding grief she was still solely hers.
But that was not a subject to be touched until it was brought up.

Just like Scarlett seemed to be reluctant to bring up the source of her musky new fragrance. For now, Maera would let it be, hoping the ruby-eyed female would take the same approach when wanting to pry about her family.

She listened to the instructions carefully, not wanting to really ask any questions unless necessary. The chatty-catty that had once loved inside the fiery pup had been covered under thick layers of fear and anxiety that had liked up during the lonely nights, and which residues were hard to clean up.

Alright, no promises I won't bite though She joked lightly, her eyebrows wiggling above her hazel eyes as she retreated, giving her current Caretaker room to go act as an animal as she switched onto predator mode.

Red eyes looked carefully at the female across from her. Meara was very different from Néa. Where the one needed her the other didn't need her at all. This one in front of her was far more independent. Scarlett knew that Meara wasn't the one that liked to be mothered like she was doing with Néa. No matter. Scarlett would take Meara lessons more seriously and yet in some playful matter. The two young female should meet soon. Maybe one day she could call for Meara to come by her new den and play with Néa. She wasn't sure if Meara would be playful when seeing a girl around her age. Maybe she wouldn't play at all because her siblings were... gone.

Scarlett had only heard half of the Sveijarn story and presumed all the others were dead. The female called her attention back to their conversation. Meara was going to start and couldn't be caught of guard by the pup. "I will return from this training with battle scars then," she returned the joke. Although, the female knew very well that a pup's teeth were really sharp. The female stayed in the clearing and laid down. Her eyes closed because she relied on her ears and nose. But also on her paws. Now was Meara not the heaviest of her kind but each pounce gave some vibrations she could feel on the ground. Eventually the albino decided to sit up instead of laying down. She moved her front paws more against the ground and readied for Meara's vicious attack.
*maera
Also sorry for putting this off hehe <3

Gone was a word that could take many meanings.
Still, regardless of the interpretations that wee given to it (death, abandonment or simply being lost), it all shared a common end result : bitter emptiness.

Not even in the darkest, most lonesome nights had the fiery Sveijarn accepted that her relatives absence was meant to be eternal-- not even Larus' who had been plucked by a vicious predator right from their own den. Even if the child had never been taught of heaven (and would hold her doubts if she had) she still held onto the belief that she would see them again.
While alive or during whatever came after her heart stopped beating.
For now, however, she would be content to 'see' them in the respective collections she had constructed for them inside the renovated Girl Club.

Noticing then how her companion had momentarily fallen into her own thoughts the young fire head lowered her thin snout into the floor and with a quick movement attempted to fling some of the cold material onto Scarlett's shoulder. Here let me help you with that snow bunny impression She barked as she giggle-snorted the remaining bits of the powdery material off her dark nostrils.

Finally as some last words were issues on her direction Maera lowered her body to the floor in an attempt to mimic the correct hunting stance she had been using (or trying to use) during her hunts. In a brief second the female changed her whole playful demeanor for a pose that meant all business.
She crept towards the female carefully, her paw-steps soft and measured to carry her with both delicacy and grace (or as much as the teens spindly legs could handle )

Then, without a warming or even a second for the female to analyze what Maera's next move would be she lunged; her front limbs outstretched in an attempt to impact Scarlett's shoulder, her lips curved into a silly grimace that could barely contain the laughter bubbling from her chest.
RAWR.

OMG so sorry. Apparently my computer has been autocorrecting Mae's name without me knowing. Excusez-Moi. Not to worry. I was busy too. :D
Also Yay for Anthony because he made a table for me! 8D

Scarlett turned to Mae when she felt something on her fur, it wasn't the cold that seeping in, just weight of it. She chuckled and then flickered up some more snow over her. She wanted to make a sound of a bunny, but then realized she actually wasn't sure if they made sounds with their mouths. She did know they thumped their feet against the ground. The snow started to melt of her nose so the small white shook her head to get the snow off. Soon the teenager had vanished. Scarlett was pleased with Mae's hunting skills. They were better than expected, she had to admit that. She could keep track of the female because of the slight wind that breezed into her direction.

The albino's ear moved along with Maera's movements but she did not see her coming that quick. Before the female realized that she was under attack, the female had been tackled down. A chuckle did escape from Scarlett's throat. She had quickly surrendered and playfully turned on her back exposing her tummy. It was all play after all. Oh no. A vicious wolf! The female then let her head fall to the side and her body go limp like she just died. Soon she bursted in silly chuckles as she turned to a sitting position. Very good! I think we can start with living prey soon. The only tip I can give you is that you should consider the wind, because it blew your scent towards me. she hummed softly.

Scarlett got on all fours and shook out her fur. Are you willing to try life prey? Would you prefer doing everything yourself, or I catch it but won't kill it so you can practice your bites?, the pale female inquired. Even she sometimes bit the wrong spot in the heat of the moment.

that table is gorgeous ^^

The force of the collison was enough to knock the white female off her feet and into the soft arms of the snow banks that laid around them. In the midst of the flying snow and the flailing of limbs Maera exploded in laughter, her tail wagging uncontrollably as she pinned down the adult for a brief moment until she 'died'.

Wihtout littermates left to play and no other wolves her age (that she had met) she didn't get to do this very often, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. She backed up quickly as Scarlett rolled from beneath wanting to sit now. Oh yeah, she barked as the female began her feedback, mentioning that she had failed to consider the wind. Forgot that itty bit she barked apologetically with a sheepish grin and a flick of her feathery tail.

The female's next question however caught her off guard, live prey? She had hunted before -- small game, but still. Didn't Scarlett know that?
A bit embarassed and offended that her friend saw her as such a helpess child she shrugged her shoulders non-chalantly, Live prey is fine with me.. and so is hunting it on my own she mumbled, not realizing the sharpness of her voice until the words had been pronounced. Unless it's a bison we are going after! she added quickly, showing that she didn't mean to have pushed her away with her last answer.
Sometimes Maera forgot of the concrete wall she had built around herself.

The white female smiled fondly at the girl whens he was laughing. She felt like that was a rare thing for the juvenile to do. Scarlett was glad her lessons at least were fun enough to have laughter in them. Once she got to her feet she shook out her fur. A more playful grin came on her muzzle when the girl admitted that she had forgotten that small yet, every important detail. For now it is okay. She killed me. But, remember it for next time. You did well so you deserve a good praise.

You could say that Scarlett was mildly surprised by Maera's sharp tone she used. Fully white ears fell back for a brief second. She didn't mean to insult the young lady that was not her purpose at all. The youngster then added some words to make it less sharp but Scarlett still felt the need to apologize. I'm sorry, Mae. I never seen you hunt before. I have no idea where your skill level is at. I didn't want to make you feel bad.

The young female stood. She actually wanted to say more but that would probably do much more damage. Maera had no one. Of course she could take care of herself and hunt small life prey. Scarlett grunted at her own stupidness. Lets find a meal then!

With her lips pressed together and the idea of an upcoming scolding flooding her mind she allowed her gaze to stray from the ruby eyes of her friend. She knew her parents would have not tolerated any smack talk and if she were an adult she wouldn't either. But then, the unexpected came.
Au contraire it was an apology what recieved her once she casted her hazel eyes back up again. The female whom she had accepted into the barely existing ranks of her Club, had nothing but kindness inside her heart.
Wow, an adult apologizing to me -- she thought in amusement as she accepted the female's unexpected apology with a shrug and a wave of her tail.

T's all good she piped up while giving her friend a crooked smile before approaching slowly. You know, I'm actually craving a bunny now -- your impression was that good she joked while craning her neck to give a small nip on the female's exposed shoulder.
It was good to have someone.

Fade out? :3

Scarlett cheered up when the young teenager told her that she had not offended her one bit. She was not her mother after all, so Scar was not one to argue with a young wolf that wasn't her own. She was just here to give Mae an education on hunting. Her education seemed to go very well, even much with her help. Still the pale female was pleased to see that she could give the hazel eyed female some tips at least. Scarlett laughed at her comment, but it was mostly because she laughed her pain away. She tend to do that a lot. Mainly why she was so good at playing a bunny was because she felt like a prey animal most of her life.

It took years and years of training to master my bunny skills. So thank you, thank you. But yes, lets hunt some bunnies, the light female agreed with a grin on her muzzle. They would probably go a bit more into the valley if they wanted the fat ones. Here on the glacier were mostly the skinny ones without the grass to have fatten them up for winter. Scarlett didn't know how they survived but she suspected it was roots they ate instead of the plants that were missing here.
