Onyx, come here. Yes, Mama? I'm going to tell you a story. Okay. Once upon a time...

Onyx woke from a lovely little dream-flashback of her mama, where nobody died. I miss you so much, Mama. It had been so long since she'd seen Mama. She didn't want to believe she was gone, but in truth she had been an orphan for a long time. She crawled out of her cramped underground den, which was too small for her spider-like legs. She began to slowly wander aimlessly down the shore, with no purpose whatsoever.

Her green eyes followed the crashing waves with a methodology that could only mean she was trying to learn something. For several days now, Wip had been staring at the Ocean, trying to discover its secrets, wanting to so desperately figure out the puzzle that had been formulating in her mind. She huffed in resignation, she would figure out what she wanted to know soon, but today was not the day. For now, she would depend on the food stowed away in her favorite cache, and ponder the issue of Sea Food later.

It was after her guarded visit to said cache, aging hare leg in tow that Wip came across the dark female. She seemed to be wandering aimlessly, and yet Wip’s black nose quivered at the scent that marked her as a pack mate. She moved towards the other noisily, hoping to announce herself. Introductions were always an anxious affair for the tawny female. Hi there. She realized speaking with the hare leg in mouth was counterproductive, and dropped it into a patch of sea grass. Had breakfast yet?

Onyx turned around to face the source of the noise. It was another wolf, and she smelled like the Bay. Onyx was pretty sure she smelled like Thistle Cloud Loðbrók too. Hi there. No I hadn't had it. I was gonna eat lunch today. I don't usually eat brekfast. My name is Onyx, I'm the Gamma. What's yours? Are you new? She asked the mostly tan lady. She noticed Wip's long legs, similar to Onyx herself.

Wip nodded agreeably at the introduction offered by Onyx. She was happy to be getting a chance to meet another pack mate. Thus far she had only met two other members of this new family. It’s nice to meet you Onyx. My name is Wip, and I’ve only recently joined this family. Wip wondered how long Onyx had been at the Bay, and whether or not she could pump her for some information, but she decided it would be too soon to be so zealous at gathering intel. How long have you been living here? Then she added, Is everything ok? You seemed a little sad a few minutes ago.

wrote in an ending, been over a month since Steph replied.

Onyx smiled kindly to the lady. Nice to meet you Wip. Welcome to the Bay. She said to the tan wolf politely. Since September, I think. When Onyx had arrived, it was just around the time she turned one. Her birthday was just a few days after she joined. I.. Yeah. I was thinking about my mom. She's not here. Onyx used the same 'she's not here right now' phrase she'd first used when she'd met Majesty. But he had been able to guess that she was trying not to admit that she was a little orphan. But now her thoughts hungrily turned to food. Wip mentioning food had made her hungry. Well, now I'm hungry. I'm gonna go find something to eat. Bye! She called to Wip with a smile and dashed off, now hungry for breakfast.
