for @Mara !

Runt walked along the riverside. It was quiet today, but her head was not. Thoughts rumbled around in her mind. She had two large requests of Mara, as well as the fact that they needed to do some exploring. And maybe a few questions about the new pack. But she wanted to talk to Mara about, as well as mention Riko and try to get a count of their members so far, and how many she didn't know. She lifted her tan scarred muzzle to the sky, splitting the almost-silence with a short gentle howl requesting the prescence of Mara. Then Runt sat down by the edge, watching the cold water move, iced over in some places.
Mara was just picking her way back into the gorge after her meeting with the Tinashe, who had become a spine wolf soon after, unknown to Mara. Her head was clouded with thoughts and worries alike. There was too much she didn't know and the threat of the spine finding their little paradise before they were ready was always looming close on the horizon. She was so deep in her thoughts that she barely even heard Runt's call, summoning her. It was a relief to be able to talk to Runt and Mara trusted her with her life. Without Runt, she had a feeling that the gorge wouldn't have happened.

Her paw steps fell light over the snow covered ground as she made her way to the river in the center of the canyon. The edges were tinged with ice but the middle still roared strong, not letting winter conquer it's raging power. She sat down next to Runt with a light sight, giving a sneak peak of the worries that swirled in her head.

"I'm glad you called, if I didn't talk to someone, more specifically you, I would've exploded." she admitted, shaking her head and fixing her grey eyes on the water.

Runt aknowledged Mara with a small nod and a glance towards her.
"Yeah. There are some things I want us two ta discuss, about Whitewater Gorge and some other things. I have some stuff ta ask ya." She said. She turned her head towards Mara, her green eyes settling on a few new wounds from the battle, but moving to her eyes. Eye contact was good for important stuff. "First of all, you're alpha and I'm beta, right? Just checkin'." She asked Mara with a slight tilt of her tan head.
She nodded, acknowledging all the questions that loomed in the air, waiting to be spoken. "Yeah, I'm gonna need you're help to make this all work." she explained, not wanting anyone but Runt to be her second in command. "You go ahead and ask all your questions, I'll ask mine after." she encouraged, eager to hear what Runt had to say.

Phew. There was a little off her list. Although her list wasn't that long. She took a deep breath before beginning.
"Okay, so how many wolves do we have? Do I know them all? We both know Jade and Faline, and I met Wyeth and Riko- I don't think you've met Riko- and I met this fat reddish dude. And what are we gonna do about the Spine when we're official? When are we official?" She blurted out all the questions, but saved what was most important to her for last. "And Mara, I have a request.. When I turn a year old, can ya give me a.. Better name?" She asked her seriously, looking deep into storm grey eyes. She didn't want to be the runt forever.
She listened as Runt blurted out all her questions at once, barely giving the slight red she-wolf any time to process them. She was right, she hadn't yet met Riko, but if Runt trusted her, then she was pretty sure she was a good one. And the 'fat reddish dude' she was talking about must be Audrey. So with her, Runt, Wyeth, Faline, Jade, Riko and Audrey, they had seven wolves. A good solid number of founding members.

"The red one is named Audrey, I met him a little while ago and he seemed okay and useful, with his size and all. So that means we have seven, right?" she tilted her head, hoping she had counted them all.

When Runt reached her last question, Mara's gaze softened. She loved Runt like a little sister and she could totally understand the want to change her name. Being called Runt all the time had to do some damage to your self esteem. "Of course! I totally get it." she assured her, giving her a light smile. "So you better think of one soon, and I expect nothing less then amazing from you." she said jokingly, bumping her shoulder against Runt's playfully.

Runt listened to Mara's replies.
"Audrey. Yeah, I think he could make a good warrior or warden, scare people off, with his size and all. He could squish all the air out of their lungs by sittin' on them." She giggled a little. Audrey was a big guy. "Okay. Well, actually, seven. With Riko. That's good enough. And yeah, ya can expect a new name when I hit one!" She said to Mara with a grin. She would have to get thinking. But then her lips turned in a thoughtful frown. "Ya didn't answer my question about the Spine." She said to Mara with a nervous glance.
Omg I totally failed xD I cant even count to seven

To be honest, she hadn't really thought about what to do with the spine. After she had met that Tinashe and she had turned down her offer of infiltrating their enemy, the options dwindled a bit. She let out a sight as she contemplated what they could do.

"Well, before we do anything to crazy, we have to prepare. Train, stock up on food, plan stuff out, ya know? Then once we get everything ready, we can start our actual attacks against them." she said, getting more sure of her words with each syllable. Yeah, that sounded like a pretty good idea.

"Speaking of preparing, have you been in the cave system yet?" she asked excitedly, the place was amazing and she couldn't wait for it to go into use.
lol i do that kinda stuff all the time.

Runt listened intently. She knew that she and Wyeth were warriors... And maybe Audrey would end up being one... And Mara had been pretty darn good at fighting that first time. Jade seemed to know stuff about healing.. Runt was unsure what Faline and Riko could do.
"Yeah, once or twice. I saw some tunnels, but I didn't go deeper yet. I thought I might get lost. Could we check it out or ya show me around? Do ya know it well?" Runt asked. They needed to know their land better than their enemies, including tunnels and caves.
She grinned at Runt, remembering her expedition with Wyeth and how amazing the tunnels had been. She would love to explore them more with Runt, but today, they had other things they needed to figure out first.

"They are amazing, Wyeth and I decided we should map them out. I'd love to explore them a bit more with you sometime." she replied.

Runt was glad to hear that Mara and Wyeth were getting along, at first Mara hadn't seemed to like him. The alpha needed to improve of her mentor. When she said check them out sometime, Runt was no less enthusiastic, and not disappointed just because she couldn't go then. There were other things to talk about.
"Mara, 'bout the Spine. Who are their leaders and what do 'ey look like? I need ta know unless I ever see 'em or catch 'em snoopin' 'round here." She asked Mara. The alpha and beta could not avoid the topic forever, so they needed to start getting more information.
Her smile slipped off her face as her thoughts were directed back to the spine. It was time that they got what they bargained for. Just the thought of carrying out part of her threat made her heart rate speed up. They would indeed get what they deserved.

"Their alpha is a female named Cara. She is white, cream and tan with yellow eyes and she is pregnant with Kaname's pups. The beta, Kaname, is a dark brown with bright blue eyes. He's not one to be messed with alone. And I think it's about time that we show them that we haven't run away in fear." she said, disgust in her voice as she explained the two wolves that had earned her hatred. The plans for showing them that the gorge wolves were not to be messed around with filled her mind. They would start small, remarking their borders with their own scent, stealing their prey, etc. But then when they were stronger, they could start the real fun.

At the mention of pups, a wicked grin split Runt's face. She reminded herself that she wasn't evil or creepy, she wasn't gonna do anything too awful to them. She definitely wasn't thinking of stealing and killing them and leaving their bloody fluffy little bodies on the Spine border. Of course not.
"I have a few good ideas for how ta mess with 'em." At the description of Kaname, something clicked. "dark brown, icy blue eyes? Think I mighta met that dude, and he did say he was from the Spine." A thoughtful frown formed on her face. He'd seemed nice. Not friendly, but willing to start a conversation with a stranger like Runt, which was a nice thing. But now they were enemies. There was no mercy upon enemies. When it came to matters of blood, Runt knew all too much.
Mara saw recognition on Runt's face for Kaname. She too had thought that he was nice, he was even the one to welcome her into his pack with open arms. And now look at them, at each others throats. Literally.

"Yeah, he's the one who did this." she mused, lifting a crimson paw and running it carefully over the healing scar that marred her face. "And spill! Ideas are needed desperately!" she barked, bumping Runt's shoulder playfully as if she was trying to get the name of the wolf Runt was crushin on.

So he had put that scar there? Dang. When Mara asked her to give her ideas, she wasn't sure how far she should go. Playful Teasing, or Torture Methods? Being a slave and a child she knew and had seen both, and she wasn't sure how big of a war Mara was talking.
"Well, ya wanted things that are playful or scary? I got both. Ya remember... I came from a bad place, and I seen a lotta bad stuff happen. Really bad stuff. So I can give whateva kinda revenge ideas you're lookin' for." She told Mara. With pups involved, this could be fun. Stealing one for a few days, just to give them a scare, and returning it unscathed, just teasing. Lotsa more ideas, many more gruesome or damaging....
She had to think about that one. Truly think about it. Of course she didn't want to hurt any pups, they had nothing to do with it, but she wouldn't mind ripping Cara's ears off. She knew the bitch wanted her head completely off her body, so Mara had no problem with returning the favor.

"Well, I know for a fact that Cara want's me dead. Like ripped limb from limb dead. I don't want to hurt the pups in any way, but we could definitely steal one and raise it as are own." she offered, a plan forming in her head and a smirk growing on her face. "Steal one and raise it to hate them. That would be horrible for Cara to go through." she thought out loud. If they got the pup early enough, then it would have almost no memories of its birth mother and would be a blank slate for them.

Runt smirked at Mara's great idea. So no hurting pups physically. But her idea sounded great.
"Yeah! I would make a totally rad mom! We could tell it that Cara liked the others better and decided ta leave it for the birds. But we found it as a child and took care of it. So we could raise it ta want ta assassinate her. Or we could just claim that ya and Wyeth are it's parents." She said with a cheeky grin, bumping her friend's shoulder teasingly. Of course, the child would probably be dark brown or Cara's colors, not the reds and browns and tans of their pack. The first option was the only serious one, and would work well, Runt thought.
As of now, Mara has placed a rotting coyote head in the spine territory in this thread, so that's the official start of it :D

Though she a blush heated her cheeks at Runt's last suggestion, the first one was actually a really great idea! That way the pup would despise Cara all on it's own! No work on convincing it would be needed!

"That first one is actually a really amazing idea! That would work great!" she agreed, her tail wagging in anticipation. Not only would it hurt Cara deep, but it would be fun to have a cute little pup running around the gorge. Pups were just too adorable to stand, even if they were the spawn of an evil bitch.

"And you definitely would make a bad ass mom." she said happily, her eyes twinkling.
lol i can't wait for all this pranking stuff. We must have a fun prank thread on April Fool's.

"Oh, totally! I'll be teachin' 'em how to party 'n' kill! But you're on accident duty, especially if it's a dude." Runt said, her nose scrunching up in disgust, but her face an amused grin. Mara could take care of all the smells and substances that exited a newborn's body, while Runt would teach it how to be cool. Right? "Let's fight fire with fire, sistah!" She said coolly, her green eyes narrowed in an eager way. She couldn't wait for the tricks to begin.
Yaaasss!

She wrinkled her nose in a playful manner at Runt's suggestion.

"Why do I get poop duty? I say we make Wyeth do it." she suggested, laughing at the thought of him trying to contain a squirming little baby and get the poo of its bum. What a hilarious sight that would be.

"Yeah, it's gonna be awesome and they aren't gonna know what hit 'em" she agreed happily, thinking of the outrage that would be on Cara's face when she discovered all the things they were going to do. Wouldn't it be a sight to see the uptight queen bitch covered in shit. Like literal shit.
so for this to be a discovery i think they need to do a little exploring or at leadt describe the land nearby more..?

She grinned in jest.
"Whateva, as long as it's not me." She chuckled to Mara. Wyeth, her own mentor, trying to clean up a puppy accident. What a laugh. "Wanna do some checkin' out our Hidden Paradise, man?" She asked Mara with a smile stuck to her teenage face. Runt glanced around a little, at the river, up the stone walls, into the grasses, under the trees that somehow flourished there. There were so many places to see.
She grinned at the idea of exploring some more. "Of course! Let's go!" she said happily, hopping to her feet and starting off along the river. The ice that formed along the side of the clear, rushing water made it look like the river itself was wrapped in a ribbon and the frost that dusted the cave walls made the whole place sparkle.

They were so lucky to be able to call this place home. Mara couldn't think of anywhere better. Even from here she saw the little openings in the gorge walls that served as windows and balconies for the dens in the cave system. From an outsider, they might look impossible to reach at such a great height, high above the gorge floor, but to those who lived here, they knew about the great secrets the thick stone concealed. Long tunnels and caves filled the walls and made a perfect place to make dens and store food and herbs. It was a hidden paradise within a hidden paradise.

Runt trotted happily behind Mara, her big young eyes taking in everything. Her green orbs studied the walls, trying to keep track of cave entrance locations. They would be perfect for herbs, dens, maybe prey, hostages, and other treasures. Some seemed to be difficult to reach, while others had ledges leading up to them. Or between two as a connection between the entrances. Eyes dropping down, ahead the river flowed on, growing and dwindling in certain spots. A few lucky trees had found their way down, creating almost a tiny forest of sorts. Surrounding it was some grass. She wondered if any large prey lived down here. She wondered if so, had they too found the entrance? She shared her new home with prey, but of what kinds?
Just then Mara saw something splash in the river not two feet from her and her head spun around as she fixed her gaze on the disappearing ripples. She lowered her body and crept along the ground until she was right at the edge of the flowing water. She could see shapes moving around in the deep water. This area of the river was a lot slower then the rest, circling into a deep pool until it move out about ten yards further down stream.

The fire-pelted female squinted her grey eyes at the shapes, trying to identify them. They were a lot bigger than fish, about the size of foxes. They had four legs and skinny tails and they pushed themselves through the water with what looked like paws.

"Pst, Runt, come look at this!" she whispered urgently, motioning with her tail.

The teen's ears perked as Mara called her over. She noticed her whispering and noted to herself to quiet down as well for some reason. She tip-toed towards the water. Something swam in it- a biggish thing with a thin tail and weird paw things it was using to swim.
"It otta be an otta. Or a beaver. Or a nutria rat. Or a seal." She whispered, grinning at her corny first pun. She didn't know what the thing was, and wondered if it was edible.
