Alas, she made it. Somewhere in this wide range of North America, this rather large build wolf traveled abroad to find refuge, but most of all, companionship in a pack atmosphere. She made it, but nothing changed the fact that she could be attacked. This was someone's territory, and she respected that. But given the fact that hunger stood in front of her, the decisions she will make mattered. Energy is precious, and when some stranger wolf walks unexpectedly into the home of a pack, this wolf must be ready if she would be attacked. Though, something about this place felt safe. The security radiating off the trees filled her aura with confidence, despite the timid wolf Jay can be.

It comes a time for this wolf to take that one step over the line. The scent of urine sprayed along the tree and grass was a mere five inches away from her grayish, right front paw. One step, Jay. One step. Her thoughts rung through her cranial nerves. At a twitch of a tail, her paw had taken a step over the line that separates the boundaries of residential wolves. Behind her, the vast empty forest was full of mysteries and only brought a goal with finding her next meal. But in front of her, the goals could be endless. I could raise a family, contribute with my skills or climb among the ranks. It was a chance she was willing to take.

Taking another step with her front left paw, the adrenaline adsorbed deep into her blood stream and straight to her veins. This caused her heart to beat out of her chest. The feelings? Terrified. Excited. Nervous. The best word to describe it... READY.

With a few more paces forward, her muzzle rose to the sky, examining the scents. The sensory overload disrupted her brain with commotion. Taking that one deep breath resolved that problem. "I am ready to take my place. I yearn for the companionship I once had... I want to commit this loyalty to someone..." The voice was quiet. It was not exactly the volume she was going for, so she tried again. "I am ready to meet my fate. Come challenge me, you fool! So I can show forth the loyalty I am ready to give!"

just double checking, you requested ooc joining but actually want ic?

The alpha was stalking, eyes trained on the squirrel that was to be his snack, when the call went forth. Immediately the creature looked around and, seeing the large wolf (attempting to) creep up nearby, took off towards the nearest tree. Knowing it was lost, he made no move to follow, instead heaving a low breath of irritation. There had been little chance of him catching the little thing but still. It was the principle of it.

There had been a demanding edge to the unfamiliar call that didn't sit too well with Dante. He was a fairly easygoing guy, but he didn't know the caller, nor did they him. If they indeed wished to join then he would need to ensure proper respect was given.

As a result his expression was not exactly friendly as he strode towards the newcomer, head held high. Though the call had insinuated, still Dante asked, words curt. "What is your business on our borders?"
I thought I had to do both but I would love to IC it if I have to choose.

The she-wolf was answered. It took notice of her immediately after that second paw step into these lands. The forest provided some cover, but when wolves want to know who is nearby, their noses will exceed the job of scent. Though, without a doubt, it made the adrenaline escape through her paw-pads when the voice appeared from the forest.

The one who took notice was a rather large male, one of great size, and apparently great dignity. His stance was strong and confident. He graciously stalked her with swift movements. It was a tell-tale sign of the ranking of this rather handsome male. It was one of higher status, perhaps an alpha or beta.

The timid wolf inside Jay made it easy to submit, despite being defensive. With all do respect, she had stepped onto his lands. So, instinctively the female began to coward but gave him some confident eye glances, hoping he didn't find a challenge in her eyes, but instead someone of confidence. "Good afternoon, sir. Let me introduce myself. Feeling slightly timid, the female slurred a few of the words. But, she managed to maintain eye contact with the high-ranking wolf. "I am Jay, wolf of Newfoundland. I have traveled across the continent looking for a suitable pack. I took interest in this one when I arrived into the area after I heard several comments on this pack from loners. I felt that I am a suitable member for a pack, and would be honored in serving you."

She had a feeling that her confidence was a bit much, and he might take it as a challenge. But even then, this wolf felt that showing dedication and some submission would go a long way on making a first impression. So, she rose to her paws and exchanged a soft smile.

From the call, Dante wasn't expecting the timid greeting that he received. The other wolf was respectful, so immediately the alpha male relaxed. He did not lower his guard completely but he did get a tidge friendlier.

He listened patiently while she introduced herself, then considered her words. He was surprised to hear their pack spoken of by loners, for he hadn't believed them to be well known enough for word to travel. He wondered if this was a good thing or not... such attention could be either.

Focusing on the present, he looked at her, withholding judgement for the moment. "Do you? May I ask what makes you say that you believe yourself a good fit?"
