Alusia ended up in similar looking territory like the one she had back in her arctic home. The mountains surrounding her made it feel like home here, but yet she was completely lost at heart. She wanted to become close to her pack mates, however was afraid of being rejected by them.

She had only met the Alpha, Cara, who accepted her into the pack and briefly went over the rules. Exhilarated about joining her first pack since the "two legged creatures" had released her, she could not wait to meet the rest of her new family.

She sat on the edge of a rocky mountain close to the boarder letting the calm breeze blow through her dense arctic fur as she became lost in thought. Not knowing what the future has planned for Alusia she can only hope it will bring great fortune and happiness for both her, and her new pack.

Day by day, with decent meals in her belly and a consistent place to rest, she was feeling more settled into life as a wolf of the Spine. They had been here almost a week, give or take, and so far she had done well to recharge and integrate quietly. Now, it was probably time to meet a few more wolves, so she branched out in her wandering about the territory. Usually she stayed near the heart of it all but today she headed closer to the borders.

Wyvern jogged along, nose low to the ground in case anything interested cropped up. She smelled a lot of various things, of course, and only some of the aromas were anything she could recognize -- her catalog of Spine wolf scents was still a work in progress after all. But, one stood out as fairly fresh so she casually began tracking it.

Hey, the diluted female whuffed when she spotted a white wolf just ahead. Her approach followed across the unfamiliar surface, so she was being particularly mindful of both her feet and her posture as she drew steadily closer.

After a few minutes of thinking of what is to come in the future, Alusia herd the soft patting of wolf paws close by. Her ears purked up in an instant and she listened closely to see if the wolf would come any closer. Then in the distance a grey figure arose.

This wolf looked to be the same age as herself, but she couldn't tell for sure. As the wolf got closer she greeted Alusia with a "hey" and started coming even closer to her. Since this is the first wolf Alusia has met besides Cara, she wanted to make a good impression.

She almost without control, raised her tail and started wagging it furiously. She was thrilled to see another wolf, and even more thrilled that this wolf had come up to her. Perhaps she should not worry about being accepted after all.

"Hello" she barked happily. "My name is Alusia what's yours"? She added exited to hear what the wolf would say next.
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

Wyvern was not sure what to expect, so faced this with an open mind. She did notice, now that she was nearer, that the female did not have the Spine's scent intricately woven into her own like Cara and Kaname did. Perhaps she was new as well? She did smell Cara on her, but not a whole lot else. Wyvern received her enthusiastic greeting with her cinnamon-tinted ears splayed and a slow wave of her own tail against her legs.

I'm Wyvern Ostrega, she introduced with a small puff of pride and noted the snowy-furred wolf's name with a small nod. You're pretty new here too, right? she asked, looking to confirm her suspicions. Maybe she was even newer than herself and Lotan, which was possible now that they had been here a small handful of days. It seemed that they had joined the pack at a time when it was growing..

Alusia was intrigued by this new wolf, and learned that her name was Wyvern. She was becoming more relaxed with the female, and realizing she may have come off a bit overwhelming changed her posture. It's been so long since she's been in a pack, she forgot that coming on like a puppy might turn wolves away. She let her tail hang in a relaxed state, but kept her eyes and ears forward.

She enjoyed having the female around, but wanted to continue to explore the new territory. Perhaps this female can show her around, however Wyvern asked a question that immediately caught Alusia's attention.

Wyvern asked if she was new here, too. Alusia processed the words in her mind and realized that since she said too, that must mean she is also a new pack member. "Yes, I am from what I know the newest member" she answered in a calm and friendly tone.

"You're also new?" She asked tilting her head to the side in curiosity. If this female was new, how many others have joined in the last week? Mabye the joining of many new members is just what Alusia needs to get a fresh start.
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

She quickly got the sense that the curiosity here was mutual. Wyvern herself was not starved for interactions by any stretch of the word since she had always had Lotan around regardless, and they had not been alone for that long, but she did have a lot to learn when it came to fellow wolves of the Spine. However she felt she had a good start already in knowing both Cara and Kaname (and from what she believed, had a decent enough first impression with them both), so she was confident in future interactions.

Wyvern bobbed her head in a nod without hesitation while she listened. Not quite as new as you, but yeah, new. My brother and I got here about a week or so ago, her tail switched in a steady rhythm. Briefly, she wondered what he was up to right now. I guess the pack's seen a lot of new growth lately. Which is probably really good, with winter upon them and all. Cara was probably quite pleased by this.. not that Wyvern knew her well yet, though.

Alusia had not interacted with many wolves, so it was nice to see she had the courage to talk to Wyvern. It's not like herself to willing talk to wolves, which is why she hangs around the pack boarder. Her form was aching from climbing the mountainside, and it most definitely was not an effortless task for her. The mountains in the arctic are engulfed with snow, making it easy to climb, nevertheless these mountainsides are rocky and prove a struggle to climb.

Alusia nodded slowly but stopped halfway when she heard about Wyvern's brother. She had always pondered what life would be like with litter mates. To always have another wolf right by your side, it was the one thing she would desire most in her life. Being born without litter mates, was hard for Alusia. She felt isolated, forgotten, and bewildered most of the time. She never had anyone to entertian her, in addition enjoy life with when she was young, and felt like she had to live up to her former packs expectations.

Not wanting to remember her past anymore, she forced the thought of litter mates out of her mind, and drew her attention back to Wyvern. The female wolf seem happy that the Spine pack was growing, and Alusia couldn't help but give a sway of her tail in agreement.

Feeling a bolt of courage shoot through her, Alusia couldn't help but ask one more question. "If you don't mind me by asking, but what made you come to the Spine?" She asked in the friendliest way she possibly could and gave a slight sway of her tail to show she means no bad intentions.
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

Wyvern did consider herself lucky in that her upbringing was very good, and surrounded by the warm embrace of family for as long as she had known it. Her parents had established a nice, cozy little pack for her and her siblings to grow happily in -- and that they most certainly did. Sometimes, she felt a vague touch of guiltiness in her desire to see the world and leave that behind so readily, but it was always quickly overshadowed because this just felt right. Her ancestors on either side had been explorers and wandering wolves too, so it was only natural!

The Ostrega female wasn't off-put by the question. Alusia's friendliness made it difficult to be anything but content. Well, we don't really have a good reason in particular. We just sort of ended up here.. since we had left our birthplace wanting to travel and explore. This seemed like a good place to settle, she answered. They weren't a pair prone to planning things out, it seemed. Something had led them here and the leaders had taken them in, so here they were; it was really simple. What about you? she returned with a tilt of her head.

Alusia was glad she had not offended Wyvern in anyway, she understands some wolves don't like to talk or explain their past. She nodded her head showing she is acknowledging Wyvern's story, but couldn't help but wonder if the female was going to ask about her past. When Wyvern finally did ask the question, Alusia was not petrified, or frightened to explain her terrible history, but eager. She had not told a living soul about her past with the "two legged creators", and was dying to tell someone about them.

Fixing herself into a conformable sitting position, she closed her ocean blue orbs shielding them as she inhaled deeply, and exhaled while a breeze went by covering her body in chills. One thing Alusia took into note is that Wyvern said she and her brother had left their former pack to explore. Perhaps they could become outriders and explore new territory for the pack, along with bring in new recruits. Nevertheless Alusia needed to focus on the task at hand and try to find a simple way to explain her difficult past.

After deciding on how she was going to word her statement, she finally spoke. " I was taken from my former pack by the "two legged creatures" when i was just a pup. They would stab me with sharp silver sticks (needles) and locked me in a box with cold wiring (cage) that prevented me from escaping." With another inhale, she continued on with her story. "After they were finished with me, I was stabbed with the silver stick one last time making me fall into a slumber. When I awoke I was alone and on the boarder of the Spine's territory." "Cara accepted me into her ranks and I've been here for about a day now." She finished cheerfully, joyful to finally have told someone about her miserable past.

Understanding Alusia probably overwhelmed the female, she gave her time to process her words. She patiently awaits for the females responds, by thinking back to when she was with her parents. A smile creeps on her face as she looks down upon the valley below her. She may have lost her parents, but she has gained a whole new pack, along with her brand new family.
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

She watched quietly as the breezes shifted Alusia's pale furs, and the female settled into a comfortable sit. Wyvern stayed as she was for now and turned her tinted ears forward. Her expression furrowed into vague confusion as the story began to unfold -- it was not what she had expected to hear, especially with the involvement of "two-legged creatures". That went over her head.

That sounds like it was.. well, awful, she breathed. I've never heard of anything like that. I don't even know much about "two-leggeds", really.. She peered at Alusia, finding that she did have some questions about the two-legged things, but not sure if it was appropriate to ask them all. Obviously, that was an ugly thing to think about and based on what little she did know, interactions with them were usually bad. This served to confirm that. Wyvern wondered if she was lucky to have survived, and to be a functional, capable, wild wolf afterward..

I bet you're glad to not be there anymore, she shook her head, unable to fully fathom what it had been like for her. Wyvern had always been free to do as she pleased, not held prisoner. If they dropped you off near the borders, do you think there is any chance they would... come back? Or something? Wyvern's ears were back, and truly, she felt kind of bad for asking this. But Alusia had humored her so far, so it was worth a shot. Of course, she wouldn't take offense if she'd rather not answer, or even think about it anymore..

As she expected Alusia was met with a variety of questions from the female, all she was willing to answer. She was not offended at all by Wyvern's questions, in fact she was glad to inform the female about about the "two legged creatures".

"It was indeed awful, I watched as other wolves experienced the same exact torture as me, but I could do nothing." She answered with a slight whimper, but held her courage and continued to answer the questions she was faced with. "I am extremely glad to not be there anymore, nevertheless I wish I could return to help the poor souls that are enslaved with the "two leggeds".

"As for them returning, I am afraid I have no idea if they would do such a thing." She had not been with the the "creatures" for long, so unfortunately she couldn't answer the question. "However if they do return, they will not leave without a few new scars to compliment their visit." She said with a smirk on her face. Alusia was not an easily angered wolf, but the thought of the "two leggeds" returning and harming any of her new family members made her blood boil. She focused back on Wyvern looking for any signs of confusion, before asking with a smile "have any other questions, I would be delighted to answer them?"
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

Wyvern shook her head, guessing it would be a terrible way to grow up and simultaneously feeling thankful for her own situation being nothing at all like that. It had to be so strange for Alusia to have been raised in such an environment, and yet, as far as Wyvern could really tell, she was normal and cheerful.

Oh yeah, I think it'd be a bad idea for them to come back here, she snickered. The wolves here didn't seem like the type to just let that go on without some backlash. Kaname looked plenty tough, and Cara seemed like she had enough protective ferocity to take on anything that threatened this swatch of land, on two or four legs.. So, Wyvern wasn't worried. This was not only because of her confidence in the wolves here, but in part of her not fully understanding the dangers humans could pose. I don't know, I guess just.. it's so weird to me that something would do that.. just box up a pup like that. Like why did they do that? She couldn't see the purpose of it. What good would it be to keep a beast captured that way? What made her most uncomfortable of all was having freedom stolen just like that, and for no good reason. Seems unnecessarily mean, she huffed with another shake of her head.

Alusia was not one to fall victim to challenges that she was faced with. Instead of slumping into a depression like many would, she had a fire in her soul that told to never quit. Her contact with the "two legged ones" proved to be beneficial for both her, and others. Now having the knowledge of what the creatures do she can warn others like Wyvern, of their dangerous ways.

Wyvern seem shocked that the creatures would lock a pup up, however Alusia wasn't at all. She had heard stories of wolves vanishing from their packs and never returning. "I believe I heard that they capture us for experiments" she explained with a disgusted expression on her face. "Also, I know for a fact that they try and study are lives."

"I agree it's very unnecessary, especially when we have done nothing to them" or so she believed. Little did Alusia know, but wolves all around, were out there killing the "two leggeds". The sun now at it's peak, shined down warming her fur and slowly melting the light layer of snow on the mountainside. The warmth gave her a refreshing reminder that it was all in the past, and no matter what, always have hope.
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

Wyvern kept her ears splayed back as she continued to consider this, and couldn't help but scoff softly when Alusia said they tried to study wolf lives. That's so weird.. that if they want to study wolf lives that they basically hold them prisoner, that's hardly a life for a wolf. She didn't think that was a good example of a wolf's typical life at all, since so much of her day did rely on interactions with others and always had. Cooped up alone and away from everyone and everything, her brother included, would stifle her immensely.

They should watch wild wolves doing their own thing if that was the goal of their studies, but perhaps there was more to it, and Wyvern's understanding did remain small. I just don't understand why they'd go through all that trouble, but what do I know, she laughed softly and shook her head. Then, refocusing on the pale-furred packmate, she decided to steer this in a different direction. Anyway, have you thought much about what you're gonna do here? Like do you have any trades in mind? she quipped for a good change of subject. While she was not so good at the whole planning ahead thing, she recognized that others did put more thought into it and may actually have a semblance of a plan to speak about.

The pale female watched closely as Wyvern began to express her thoughts. Indeed she was correct, the "two leggeds" were strange creatures of mysterious ways. She couldn't begin to comprehend how the creatures were able to find us, but we can't find them.

She listen closely as Wyvern change the subject and began to speak of trades. Alusia 's ears immediately were up and listening with interest. She indeed had thought about the trades that interested her most. Outrider along with warden or warrior. Not sure what her third trade was meant to be, she kept it open for suggestions. "I have two trades in mind, outrider and possibly warden or warrior"the young female stated proudly. Curious about what the other yearling had planned she asked"What about you? Have you considered any trades?" She waited in anticipation, ready to hear what other wolves had planned for the future.
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

As for the specifics of trades, Wyvern was not yet even sure. She had joined up with this pack on a whim and had yet to fully decide how she was going to contribute to it, and for how long. The main priority remained settling in and understanding the pack's dynamics, her place in it, as well as the lands they inhabited. From there, it was mixed with unknown.

She nodded thoughtfully. Heh, you have a better plan than I do.. she laughed softly. I think outrider would suit me. I like to roam, scout about, and see places.. plus carrying messages is kind of neat, she said. I don't know what else exactly yet. I like a lot of things and our parents taught us quite a bit about different things. From hunting to guarding to storytelling to skywatching, their family had covered a lot, so she had broad interests because of this. So! Maybe we could do outriding stuff together sometime, she smirked, hopeful at this notion. She had already expected to do some with Lotan, as was a given, but another traveling companion could never hurt.

Just let me know when you are ready to complete this thread :) BTW: Sorry for the short post, got a ton of homework that needs to be completed.

Wyvern explained how her parents taught many trades, and how she thought outrider would be a suitable way to contribute to the Spine. With a grin on her face Alusia gave yet another, sway of her tail in approval of what the female said. Outrider was an easy choice for the pale wolfess, since nothing got in the way of her curiosity.

"Yes, traveling together would probably be fun" Aulsia spoke in a friendly tone. Having someone to travel with would also be beneficial, as they would be less likely to get attacked. With creatures all around in the wilds, big and small, it would be best to travel in pairs. She found outriding enjoyable, but knew she needed to prepare herslef for the harsh terrain, and most of all the other packs in the area.
we can wrap it up here, it seemed to work out well that way~ i'm sure there will be more ;D
<style type="text/css">.wyvern {margin:auto; width:500px; text-align:justify;font-size:11px;} .wyvern q {color:#43b3ae; font-family:georgia;font-weight:bold;letter-spacing:1.3px;} .wyvern p {margin:0px;text-indent:30px;}</style>

She was pleased, and Alusia seemed to be as well. You should meet my brother sometime, he might be interested in outriding too, she said since it just might be helpful for her too. Plus, he just wasn't a bad wolf to know anyway (although she was probably biased).

Then, feeling satisfied with this meeting so far and now interested in the idea of checking up on her brother, she straightened her ears thoughtfully. Speaking of him, I think I might go see what he's up to.. she said, peering off into the forested depths of the territory. See ya around, Wyvern whuffed softly and wagged her tail one last time, then sprung into motion to find his trail, knowing that their paths would probably cross again soon.

Alusia continued to listen as Wyvern spoke of her brother, and how he too may enjoy outriding. It was interesting she had met so many other wolves interested in the same trade. Mabye they could train together, and adventure out someday.

The young wolfess watched as Wyvern strolled off into the forest and said goodbye. Alusia yelled bye back and was pleased to have met Wyvern, and would be looking forward to outriding, and even possible hunting with her. With that Alusia set off back down the Mountian side she had climbed in search of a possible den. After all she didn't want to be spending her nights outside in this cold weather.
