@Aella! <3 No rush sis! :P
Akantha sighs, and lifts her head from her paws. The past month had been spent healing up from her mysterious ordeal, and trying to hazard out a rough timeline of events that led up to her emaciated state. She hadn't bothered to divulge more information to anyone else since her timely arrival at the borders. Only Caiaphas was privy to what little the Themiscrya daughter knew which remained wholly incomplete.
The early evening heralded a coming rain, but for now the skies remained partly cloudy. A few stark swaths of blue could be seen through the breaks in the clouds, but the sun never remained out long enough to warm the grey expanse of the shore. She rolls her backside over and stretches her hind legs out, splaying her toes against the sand, while her forelegs keep her upright in a sphinx-like posture.
Her ears twist and track the sounds of the sea, and the seagulls above.
The rolling waves reminded her of things both wonderful and sad. She couldn't fathom why she felt so much stinging regret at the death of Atlas. He'd been a simple Consort, though he was remarkably good at it; being tutored by Greyjoy had imparted a keen sense of duty and subservience upon the young male. He would have been a good choice; she would have born intelligent and loyal daughters from their union.
A sigh escapes her, but is cut short by a quick inhale at the bark that startles her out of her reverie. The noise rankles her and she curls her lip, ready to verbally throttle whoever decided to approach her in such a sensitive moment. Of course, how could they know? It didn't matter to her. But her hackles flatten and her mouth goes slack at the sight of her sister bounding towards her.
"Aella!? She screeches only to remember that she has legs and, yes, they work. Akantha hauls herself to her feet and sprints towards her sister with her tail waving high behind her like a banner. "Aella, Mothers--where have you been? I've been so worried." She babbles as she nears, circling her russet sibling once before touching the side of her muzzle to Aella's own. "Caiaphas said you left with Greyjoy...?"
Sorry! I'm SO done with School! srsly...
The moment Aella confirmed it was Akantha who laid in the sand her lithe body rushed to her embrace. Her sister, the one she hadn't seen in months was now standing right in front of her, alive and with her. A tear slid down Aella's cheek, a tear full of regret, of nostalgia, but most of all, it was full of relief.
"Oh sister..." the amazon cried, Wait. Greyjoy? Aella took a step back. Greyjoy left long before I did, I just wanted to go back to Themiscrya but... I had to come back Akantha. she woofed disappointed, Why did you come back? You left without notice and... 'Thea did too. I don't know where she is. I was supposed to take care of her and now she's gone... Aella broke into tears again and pressed her face against her sister's shoulder.
