It was calm. The day was a beautiful, if still bone-chillingly cold, day, the likes of one that the inhabitants of the forest had not seen in quite some time. Sunshine filtered through leaves, leaving a beautiful effect of sparkling white snow on the ground below, broken occasionally by a bounding squirrel or a low flying bird. The land hummed, whispered, and sung with the peaceful symphony of life, no doubt an ode to the glorious day.

"A one, a two, a one two three!" It was with those dancing words that the calm melody of the forest was shattered, and a new sort of song took its place. "Hey there world!" sang the wolf as he jumped out of the bush he had been hiding in, sending the previously inhabitants of the area scattering in startled fear. "What's new today? I thought we all needed some entertainmeeeent!" Jax Saturnin was now trotting across the forest floor excitedly, an energetic bounce that almost sang of his joy as loud as his voice. "Such a thrill! Such a rush! So much better than this forest lying dormaaaant!" Pausing in his steps, he stroke a pose, lifting a front leg with a quick and dramatic flair. "You see I have no other want, no greater desire, than to make sure all my friends are happy as meeeee!" The voice crack at the end of that last word put a slight frown on his face; he was going to have to work on that note, that was not acceptable, oh no. But no matter, on with the show!

Voice rising with every note, swelling with every word, he was gearing up for the finale. "I have the knacks! The prince of lax! You might ask how I do impact! It's simply! For! I! Am! JAAAAAX!" The last grand note was accompanied by a leap, twisting in the air and landing in a bush. The move scared out a group of quail, and the cheery, if not obnoxious, effect the song had was flushed down the drain when Jax grabbed one of the fleeing quail as it rose and pinned it down underneath his paws. "Next time there's a wolf putting on a show, dear, I advise you watch from the air."

A couple minutes later, the wolf emerged from the bushes, humming his little song merrily as he went on his way.
The day was lovely, slight rays of sunshine could be seen. Which was a rare sight for such a cold winter. Bathing in the weak rays of sunshine, the golden beta trotted in a happy mood to the edge of the borders, ready for a good patrol then a good hunt. More prey might even be out of their burrows for this bright and rare day.

The golden male padded along the borders, hoping trouble wouldn't come on such a bright day. Nevertheless, he kept his ears prickled. Those dogs might be back to attack on a good day like this. He has to be alert. He scanned outside the borders, spotting a white hare sitting on the ground chewing on some frozen Grass. Perfect. Flash mentally muttered.

He stalked towards the hare, knowing he could catch it even if it ran away. But before he could pounce, a yell of "JAX' made the hare spot him. Cursing at whoever had yelled, he raced after it, slamming his paw into it's skull and giving it a quick death. He then proceeded to look around. A wolf stood there, most likely the one who yelled "Jax". Anger pulsed through the beta. This wolf could have made him lost some prey.

Flash was hella pissed. You don't just scream , especially in winter. Wolves could be hunting for Apollo's Sake. He sniffed around. Blood? His hare had been a clean kill. His eyes trailed to some bones laying on the ground with blood pooling beside it. Gods damn him. How oblivious could a wolf be? Who the hell are you. The beta growledCan't you smell the scent markers? Can for the sake of gods, wolves could be hunting.

Flash was pissed. Not just at the wolf, but also at the gods. Couldn't the fates just be nice and allow him to have a good day the one day Jupiter cleared up the winter sky and his patron, Apollo, decided to let the sun out?
The angry sight and sound of a golden wolf cut Jax off from his humming. He smiled wickedly to himself; his first victim had arrived. Sighing, he allowed the smile on his face to dip into a frown. "My good sir, I regretfully must inform you that you are mistaken. Your gracious leader has already permitted me, Jax Saturnin, entry. Which means..." Bi-colored eyes widening, he bounded toward the male, tongue lolling happily. "We're practically brothers now!" he declared, hopping in circles around the stranger. Skidding to a halt, he straightened up and put on his most serious face.

"I come here as a warrior from lands far away. It is my hope to serve this pack, and serve it with honor and dignity. I offer you my life and services, my good sir." He bowed once more and rose stiffly, eyes staring flatly ahead.
I wish I could just have flash go all, well, okay, get cho butt off the ground and start working, but apparently Flash isn't that stupid

.The other wolf had cheerfully replied how Shadow had accepted him into the pack, which made Flash slightly suspicious. Unless the male had put up a completely different attitude when he had auditioned with Shadow, The silver alpha would never accept somebody like this. Impossible. Shadow doesn't just accept wolves that play around. Never.Ever.

The golden beta sniffed slightly, nope, no Noctisardor Bypass scent. Liar! Flash screamed in his brain. Then why do I not scent pack scent on you? Unless you've only just gotten accepted.Which is highly unlikely, because even by then, I would have scented our leader's scent on you. If you really have been accepted, tell me our leader's name. He growled.

That was fair, nobody except for Shadow could accept anybody in the pack, and if the wolf was really in the pack, he would know Shadow's name. The male proceeded to tell him about where he was from and what was would do. Flash bit his tongue to stop himself from barking out an insult. If this "Jax" had really been accepted into the pack, he might as well realise he was talking to the beta of the pack.
