@Raissa set straight after this thread - hope you don't mind the finding, I can edit if you want.

With a heavy heart, Fitz took the paths that would lead him to his den. He knew he was doing the right thing. It was better to leave with a broken heart than give up his dream and face resentment later in life. Yet, the fact that he knew there was a chance she hadn't seen this coming terrified him. He deserved her anger and her hate - yet he wasn't leaving her. He was just giving her an ultimatum of sorts. Come with me versus stay here, break up with me versus long distance. They were the options, she had the pick.

He found her sitting near the den. The first time they had seen each other since their mateship consummation. He hadn't been avoiding her, that would be obvious. Every time he'd slept he had returned to their den. It was almost like they had kept missing each other, unless she had kept away. He didn't know.

"Raissa," he started. "Come with me to found our own pack?" He couldn't stand the thought of flitting about the topic. It was easier, and better, to just jump straight to it.
Raissa looked at Fitz with surprise. It had been too long since she had seen him and she had missed him, but it was like their paths were kept separate no matter what. He was starting a new pack? What was wrong with the caldera? Her fiery orange eyes widened as she considered his offer. It was all so sudden and she couldn't help but feel a little hurt that he didn't tell her his plans until now and it showed in her face.

"Did something happen? Did you have a fight with Peregrine or something? Does he know you're leaving?" she asked all at once, not really able to comprehend what was happening. Sure she had wanted to start a pack with him someday, but she was just settling in here, finally having real friends, and now he wanted her to give all that up? What about Fox, and Prima? They were the only real friends she had in a long time and now she had to leave them!

She didn't know what to do, she loved Fitz, but leaving so soon after settling in would be a hard change for her, especially since she thought she had finally found a home that she could feel comfortable in.
Raissa seemed just as confused as he had expected. She fired questions at him and he didn't really know where to begin. He wanted her to come but he was leaving even if she wasn't. He hoped this conversation wouldn't go down a track that meant he had to make that clear.

"Nothing has happened. Well, you happened. But you're not the reason. If that makes sense." He was blabbering. He took a deep breath and started again. "When the Caldera first formed, I lost myself. I spent a few weeks isolated before I learnt how to stand up for what I wanted. I then worked hard at becoming the wolf I wanted to be. Being here, and you being by my side, has all enhanced that. I just... I can't be happy if I give up on my dreams. I want to start my own pack. I want you there too. I want to do this now, before the pups come and I feel locked into my duties at the Caldera."

He quickly realised that was only part of her question. "As for your other question. Yes, both Peregrine and Fox known and have given me their blessing. We will be welcome at the borders if you wish to visit - just as any of them with be welcome at ours."

FitzDutiful fell silent. There was a lot for her to digest. He hoped she would follow him but he wouldn't fault her for staying here. After all, he would never expect her to put aside her wants and wished for him.
She shut her mouth and listened to his words as he answered every one of her questions and explained why he wanted to start a new pack. Of course she couldn't ask him to give up his dreams just to make her comfortable! Mate-ship was about compromise and Raissa knew that very clearly. Her gaze softened as he told her about working towards what he wanted and how he was finally able to do that. And if she could still come visit her friends in the caldera, then she couldn't see anything wrong with going with him.

Her surprised expression turned into a supporting smile and she walked closer to him, giving a him a reassuring lick on the cheek. "Of course I'll go with you! I'm glad you're following you're dreams." she said lovingly. She had, only for a moment considered staying here without him, but what was the point of that? He was the reason she was here in the first place!

"But you have to make me one promise." she said seriously, looking him in the eyes. "You cant get completely caught up in your alpha duties, because we haven't had enough alone time." she finished with a laugh and wiggled her eye brows playfully.
Honestly, this day couldn't have turned out more differently than he had thought. Not only had Peregrine and Fox understood and accepted FitzDutiful's plans to create a new pack, but Raissa had also accepted and understood. There was no heart break, no hurt woman left at home while her man ran off to pursue another life. They were going together, to band with others and create a new pack.

"I promise." he said, with full seriousness as he looked her perfect features. Every moment he was surprised by her and reminded how lucky he was that she loved him. "I told Fox and Peregrine that we'd be gone by nightfall." he said, as he looked around the place they had called home for a precious month.

"Do you have anything you want to bring with us?" He remembered when she'd moved from the Blackfeather Lands, she had wanted to bring a few items with her and so he expected she would want to do the same now.
She let a grin spill across her face as he promised, with complete seriousness on his face, that they would be able to have some time together. She couldn't imagine anyone better then him, he exceeded all the expectations she had of a perfect mate and it made her burst with joy.

At his question she turned and peeked back into the den that had seemed so empty for the past month. She wasn't really one to keep lots of personal items, but she had kept one of the flowers Fitz had used when he asked her to be his mate. She had placed it out on a flat rock for a couple days until it had become dry and flat when she could move it back into the den.

Now since they were leaving, she padded back to the corner where she had placed it and picked it up delicately, careful not to squish it's thin petals with her teeth. It might have seemed stupid and unimportant to some, but it was special to her. She carefully carried it out of the cave and joined Fitz again. "This is all." she said quietly.
Fitz noted the one thing that Raissa brought out of the den and smiled. He couldn't help it. "Could you put it down for a minute?" he asked. He didn't want to take more time than they had to before they left, but he couldn't be serious any more.

As soon as she (presumably) put the flower down, he pounced - as lovingly as one could - onto her. Things hadn't been easy for them these past few months, which was strange considering that Raissa's move to the Caldera was supposed to make things easier. For now he kissed her all over as wolves do. After exhausting that, he pulled back.

"Let's get going, I was thinking of setting up at Silvertip Mountain. It's right next door to Firestone Hot Springs, where we met. I thought it'd be a perfect place for our home."
Raissa looked at him with a question in her eyes as he smiled and asked her to put the flower down. Turning, she gently set the dried flower on a little rock and looked up. Before she could react, Fitz leapt at her and covered her with loving kisses, each lick sprouting fire throughout her fur. She let out an uncharacteristic giggle as his kisses tickled her body. After a bit he finally pulled back with a smile that Raissa happily returned.

Silvertip Mountain. Near where they met. Her smile blossomed into a full fledged grin. It would indeed be a wonderful place to start a family. A place just for them and those who wanted a fresh start as well.

"It will be perfect, I can't wait!" she barked happily, heaving herself off the ground and delicately picking her flower back up. "Lead the way, my love."
SQUEE!

The journey was beginning. Carefully he made his way down from where they had made their den and headed towards the border. As they crossed he looked back. His first home, the place where he had grown... It was sad to leave them behind. Taking a deep breath he deliberately turned and looked forwards.

This was their future. This was their chance.

The mountain in question was only a glisten in the distance as they turned the corner towards it. With a look towards Raissa to confirm she was still with him and not about to regret everything they had done, he put his best paw forward and headed towards their new home, their new pack.

Silvertip Mountain beckoned.
SO EXCITED!! Last post :D

She did feel a little tinge of sadness as she left her most comfortable home, but stronger was the feeling of excitement and happiness that she was starting a new life with the one she loved most.

Her eyes were fixed on the beautiful horizon and the looming mountain far in the distance. It would be a long journey to reach it, but hell, it was definitely worth it.

She glanced at Fitz, took a deep breath, and started to move forward, towards a new life one paw step at a time.
