Jensen paused, glancing suspiciously over his shoulder. The place was desolate save for a scattered flock of geese calling to one another frantically, breaking into smaller groups and eventually lining back up in their trademark V. His mismatched eyes trailed the flock until they disappeared out of sight beyond the treeline, leaving only their obnoxious squawking behind; good riddance, he thought. They were annoying animals with a vicious peck, highly territorial and frankly, rude. The wolf sighed softly and turned back towards his task at hand: scouting his new home. It was a small pack, he had been told, one that was only established a few days prior to his arrival. No matter, the smaller the better, he thought. He would be able to get a good feel for the pack this way, establishing a bond with the founding members and hopefully paving a future for himself. Hopefully.

The large male trotted lazily along the woods, tongue lolling out the side of his mouth. It would have done him some good to stop and take a rest, but he charged on eagerly without much consideration for his well being. Everything was still so new, so exciting.. he could sleep when he was dead.
The scent of another had joined her home, and Tempest was determined to greet him warmly. The peppered fae tracked his scent at a steady lope, it seemed as if he was exploring. Finally, after some time the willowy girl found him, trotting happily through the woods.

"Hey!" She called after him. She sped up until she was at his side, and gave him a warm smile. "I'm Tempest. Who are you?" She kept steady pace with him, but wished he could stop so that they could converse peacefully. Unlike Copper, who she had failed miserable to meet, she was determined to become friendly with this male.
His eyes continued to search the landscape, memorizing every minute detail to the best of his ability. The turf between his toes felt like home as he went, oblivious to the approach of a pack mate until she was nearly upon him. Jensen jumped slightly at her voice and pulled to a halt, lips pulling into a crooked grin as she introduced herself. "Well hey there, gorgeous. I'm Jensen. New here, in case you couldn't tell. Nice to meetcha. How long you lived here?" The wolf flexed his toes and dug absently in the dirt with his claws, tail wiggling rhythmically.

Raissa had heard there was a new member of the pack, and since she had took it upon herself to meet every member and make them at home, she decided it would be a good time to meet him. She started off at a slow pace, picking her way across rocks and streams that dotted the base of the mountain. She was vaguely following a fresh scent of his, not in a complete hurry to be there. Sometimes it was nice to just walk, not in a rush to go anywhere.

When she started to notice the scent intensifying, she could also pick up the slight murmur of voices. Someone had beat her to it. When she got a little closer, she made out the shape of the two wolves, one of them unfamiliar, and the other one she recognized as Tempest. She gave a light smile. She liked Tempest. She pretty much liked everyone in the pack so far, with the exception of Bindi, but Tempest was probably her closest friend, which was rather sad.

She was just about to greet the pair when she suddenly realized the awkwardness this would cause due to her being in heat. She stopped short and abruptly turned to the side, heading further up the mountain slope, trying to get away before either of them noticed her strong scent. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing it right in their direction.
Tempest smiled at the name, if she had a weakness, it was flattery. "I've been here since the begin-" Tempest was cut off as an odd scent drifted her way. It was Raissa, but- in heat. Tempest tried to remain cool, but the male in front of her might react in a different manner. So she casual moved in front of him, blocking Raissa's scent with her body, which was fruitless. She knew what males did when the intoxicating scent (at least to them) was in the air.
Jensen couldn't help but grin in response to her own. Women had a tendency to enjoy words like gorgeous and beautiful, so why not utilize them to make friends? He couldn't help his flirty nature, but unfortunately it always ended at flirting; romance was not something he was well versed in. It probably had something to do with the fact he never got passed flirting with women, who generally laughed and saw themselves to someone else. Ah, no matter. Jensen was young, he would find his own way in due time.

His ears drew forward attentively as the woman's sentence was cut short, and it took only a matter of seconds for him to discover the reasoning. There, in the distance, was a quite unmistakable scent that caused his skin to prickle. What on earth? He quirked a brow in the she-wolf's direction before taking note of Tempest sliding in front of him, obviously trying to barricade the other's scent. The man blinked curiously at the salt-and-pepper canine, head canting in confusion. "Are.. are you trying to protect her? I.. I'm not a scumbag, I swear. What freaks y'all live with where you think somethin' like that is reason to hide? It's just nature." The women had no reason to be afraid of him; Jensen was a pack member, a gentleman.. and not controlled by his loins. Were the others stark-raving mad, or something?
His response made her breath a sigh of relief. When Tempest had stepped in the way of the new wolf, it had instantly made Raissa feel a flood of friendship for her. Once she was sure that the new wolf wasn't going to react like total weirdo, she casually turned her path towards them, her eyes a calm shade of orange.

"Hey, Tempest. Who's this?" she asked, her southern accent still stuck in her voice. She couldn't seem to shake it, no matter how hard she tried.

She quickly gave the new male a once over, immediately noticing his dual colored eyes. They were captivating so she switched her gaze back to Tempest, not wanting to stare like a total loser.
