Setting this somewhat distant from their borders -- Mordecai is paying a visit out of curiosity. Plz don't eat him, haha. Unless you want to, though I'd give props if someone is all "THERE'S WILD DOGS ABOUT". HI AGAIN, KNOCK KNOCK?

Though he had told himself to stay away, at least for a little while, curiosity burnt a hole clear through him. As the days gave way to cool nights and back again to warming mornings, it was becoming clear in his travels that there was a pack resting in the scattered ridges and niches of what was Silvertip Mountain. He had been keeping an eye on it, a fair recon of what had once been familiar territory. Bodies traveled in and out of it, hunting and keeping up on their expanding range. That was always a good indication that something was there. It wasn't just one or two wolves either, it was distinctly a pack with several in their band.

As the mid-afternoon sun played hide and seek behind pale clouds, he dared to linger closer to their borders. Mordecai did not wish to raise alarm, but knew the risks he was gambling with. He didn't raise a call for them either, certain that there were many a watchful eye hidden through the forests leading up to the rising mountain. Those eyes were without a doubt, watching him and waiting to see what his intentions were. For the time being, he took his time along one of their trailing scent markers, investigating the various scents that lingered in the crisp air.

Copper was taking a walk, when he came upon an alien wolf. This was different. Different was hideous.
"Oi! You! What're you doing here!" Shouted copper, his fur hackles raising slightly. He wasn't going to attack this wolf.
That was, if he didn't try anything.
He quickly came up with a gmeplan. If the wolf attacked, he would go for the neck. This lanky wolf looked tough, but not very fast. Not as fast as him though. He noticed the wolf and him shared a few traits. But this wolf was alone. He could call for his pack, if this wolf overpowered him. it wasn't likely, though. He was getting tougher.
Thanks for joining!

And sure enough, Mordecai knew that if he gave it a few minutes someone would come calling after him. Only the fellow that did come calling after him did so with an edge to his voice. Letting his steps come to a resolute halt, Mordecai had turned an ear back to listen to the other long before he brought his gaze around. There was much to ascertain from the dutiful walk he found and the boldness implied that there was youth there. For a moment as the yearling approached him, Mordecai studied him unabashed as there was hardly anything wrong with sizing one another up. But soon thereafter, he deferred out of respect, as he wanted no trouble.

"Being curious," he said. "I used to live here." He kept it short and to the point, void of any number of smart-mouth answers that sprang to mind. Some other time, perhaps.
Hope I don't ruin the fun

Bindi was close to earning her warden trade, and nothing was going to stop her. After properly meeting Jensen, and getting to know Tempest better, the midnight wolfess set out to take care of the boarder. When a gust of breeze blew by, and the scent was unfamiliar the female naturally followed it, interested on who would be close to their boarders. She wasn't in the mood to argue or have small talk with the stranger, but instead by straight forward, join or leave.

She had come to the edge of the boarder where the scent was, but no wolf was in sight. Eventually she spotted a male who was a respectable distance, so she watched him for a minute to see if he would approach. She didn't want to chase the male away, after all he could be a decent recruit.

It was then she saw Copper, who was attempting to look tough. Bindi laughed and confidently strolled up beside the male, tail raised over her back, ears forward, and her head held high. "Can I help you" she asked with a bored tone, but yet with a smirk on her face.
Copper fumed. This bitch. He wasn't asking for much, just a quick job, for some good rep. But this-this punk-@&% just couldn't handle even that.
"I got this. It's fine." Copper said, not challenging the wolf, but not making her feel quite welcome anyway. No matter how she put it, all he had for her was pure hate. She had humiliated him. Made him feel life he wasn't anything. And he was sick of it.

A quick snarl escaped his mouth. He didn't want to hurt family, but him and Bindi were becoming all but distant cousins.
Another approached in the mere moments after he had spoke. Darker, female. And from the reaction of the coppery male who had encountered him, she was not welcome at all. Their interaction spurred an awkward tinge through the whole of Mordecai's demeanor; his brow rose subtly as he looked away from them momentarily.

"I suppose I'll be on my way so you two can sort your... differences," he added in, for lack of better words. Obviously the yearlings were having their pull of power, trying to find their place in the ranks of the newly formed pack. That was something Mordecai did not want to be in the middle of, curious of their pack or not.
When Copper told her he got this, the midnight female let a fake laugh escape. She didn't care if he had this, she was going to politely deal with the strange male. Acting as if she didn't hear Copper's little snarl the midnight wolfess continued to address the male. "No it's fine, we each know our place" she said and shot a glare toward Copper. She had already told him everyone was equal in the pack, but if he needed to know his place, she would gladly put him in it.

She may have been rude before, but he wasn't exactly nice either. However it didn't matter, if Copper didn't like her, Bindi could care less. She had a lone male to deal with, and at the moment that's what is most important. "Anyways like I said before, can I help you" she asked with a friendly tone this time, trying to show the strange male, that the wolves in this pack were nice, and liked each other.
Copper fought the urges of making a witty comeback. But that was for later. they at least shared the ideal of work first, drama later.
"Yeah. I'm sorry. It's fine. What do you need?" Copper said, now a hint of social fatigue entering his voice. This wolf was just looking around. And Copper was at least going to let this wolf get his wish. Then he would just leave. Honestly, he didn't care. Copper felt awkward at the mention of hierarchy Place.

"You want to come in?" He noticed how the male was sticking about 4 yards from the scent border. He felt a bit bad. He would just let the wolf in the outer borders. supervised of course. The yearling shook his pelt of dirt.
They were a strange pair, he thought, only to wonder thereafter if he had been that awkward and full of himself at that age. But they seemed to almost bend to appeasing him, as though his opinion mattered at all what he thought of their bickering. It was a humoring note, but Mordecai wouldn't make note of it out in the open. It would have only added to the awkwardness he present felt for them.

At the yearling male's question though, his attention piqued. Come in? Visit their territory? It sounded more like a trap to him, or at least a ploy of some sort. "I don't think your leader would consider that wise," he started to say, but soon thereafter didn't see the point in it. If they invited a bunch of strangers over for dinner, Mordecai assumed their alpha would dispatch them. "I just came around to see who was living here now. I have my answer." A beat of silence pursued. "If it's no trouble, I'll see myself clear from your borders."

If they wanted to follow him, he would hold no qualms.
When Copper's words reached her ear she looked at him shocked. Was Fitz really going to let Copper become a warden if he just willingly let strangers in. "Are you out of your mind" she screamed at Copper. This male could be a threat, and he was about to give him the grand tour of their home. She couldn't allow it, wouldn't allow it. "He could be a spy hired from a different pack to come find our weaknesses, and your just going to welcome him with open arms" she continued to address Copper harshly. He needed to understand the dangers of just letting strangers in, and if she needed to speak harshly, well that's what she was going to do.

When the stranger spoke of leaving, the midnight wolfess gave a nod of her head. It was clear he wasn't going to join, and so there was no point in talking to him. "Yes, I think it would be best if you be on your way" she said with a smile toward the strange male, before turning and looking at Copper. Was he really going to just let that male into the territory, for fucks sake, not even those wanting to join walk into the territory without Fitz approval. "I'm sorry for yelling, but do you even understand the danger you could have put us all in, if you let him in" the obsidian female asked her packmate. She felt slightly bad for yelling, however she just couldn't comprehend, why he would just willingly allow a stranger into their home. Bindi didn't want to see Copper or any other mebers of the pack get injured because of a foolish mistake.
Permission to skip Mordi-Ku, next round, if he leaves?

Copper flinched a bit, when Bindi yelled at him. She wasn't as rude as their first encounter was, though. She actually apologised.
"Whatever." Copper replied, glancing off her comment. The wretched dark wolfess had a point though. There was wild dogs about. But the lanky wolf did have a allaby, in the form of scent. He didn't smell like plastic, or like the metal bear (van) he saw dead, off a cliff. How could a bear give birth to wolves? Oh well.

Copper was a bit angry. They were two, to this loner's one. Had he not just left immediately, he would have at least have gone without someone getting hurt.
Yep, feel free to continue this thread on out. Mordecai's headed off now. :)

And almost true to form, the coppery yearling got another verbal lashing almost as soon as the words had left Mordecai's mouth. There was no doubt in his mind that he would be going now and chances were, he wouldn't return. Mordecai couldn't have said what this display between yearlings meant or said about the alpha who led them, but he doubted it was good. There hadn't been this much conflict when the Spine wolves had left Silvertip. There hadn't really been any at all.

Without another word, Mordecai headed off to leave them bickering among themselves. At least now he had a notion about them and something he felt would come in handy to relay to Dante in time. Perhaps Cara too, if she was willing to listen to his opinion. But those visits would come later, as there was much ground to cover in any direction he took.
Have not seen activity from Copper for days, so will be putting an ending on this.

Bindi watched as Copper avoided her question and the stranger left. With a huff she left the male and continued on with her boarder control, not caring if he tagged along or not. She shook her head slightly, as she realized that her and Copper probably did not make a good impression. The midnight wolfess knew she would have to track down the strange male and make sure that he wasn't completely horrified by them.

Eventually her boarder patrol ended, and Copper had not tagged along but instead it seemed he just stayed at the place Bindi left him. With a yawn she made her way to her den for a nice peaceful sleep.
