Lotan had set his sights on the outrider trade, and now that he was well acquainted with the nooks and crannies of Ouroboros Spine, he was ready to take on the outside world. Early in the morning, as the first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon, he departed from his new home. He marched across neutral territory, a snow-blanketed plain that seemed to stretch out endlessly around him. When he had put some distance between himself and the Spine, he looked back over his shoulder; the mountain range stood imposing against the hazy orange sunrise, and he smiled.

A few hours of travel brought him to a gathering of trees, most of which seemed to have lost their vegetation for the winter. Low hanging branches and scrubby bushes tangled near the ground, making travel difficult at some points, but he eventually found himself on what appeared to be a well-worn path. With no real destination in mind, he began to follow the trail, copper-backed ears standing tall on his head as he took in his new surroundings with all senses.
Once again Bindi set out to find Runt's Whitewater Gorge, but end up with a failed discovery. The midnight wolfess was ready to just give up searching for Runt's hiding place, and give the information she already has to the Spine. The obsidian female now had one thing in mind, find the Spine. With a sigh she started toward the valley she saw from the mountain, and prayed it was the Spine.

What she was not expecting happen, was running into a wolf. Perhaps he was one of Runt's friends, and could give Bindi more information. Little did she know, but the male infront of her was a Spine wolf. The obsidian wolfess trotted up to the male with a relaxed posture. Bindi wasn't in the mood to puff her chest and try and look tough, all she wanted was information. "Hello" she said with a smile. Bindi would wait for the perfect opportunity, and then she would make him spiill all his secrets to her.
It wasn't long before Lotan was approached by another wolf. She trotted right up to him, her expression friendly as she greeted him boldly. The young male halted in his tracks, feeling a little uncertain. He hadn't expected to encounter anyone else so soon, but it seemed that these lands were more highly populated than the area around Sterren Hollow.

"Hi there," he replied, his eyes drawn first to the patch of white on the dark female's chest. She smelled of other wolves, so it was presumable that she belonged to another pack in the area. "I'm Lotan," he said, figuring it would be in his best interest to get the greetings out of the way first and foremost.
The stranger introduced himself as Lotan and the midnight wolfess gave a nod of her head. "Nice to meet you Lotan" she said politely, and gave him a quick smile. She would get her information, but she needed to act normal so she continued on with the conversation. "I'm Bindi, from Silvertip Mountain" she said and told him her pack hoping he would tell her his.

If he said he wasn't in a pack, but they were creating one, she would know he most likely belonged to the Mara. "What pack are you from" she asked, golden eyes focused on the stranger. The midnight wolfess stood firmly on the ground, and was not going to leave until she received the information needed.
"Silvertip Mountain?" he repeated, recognition and curiosity illuminating his eyes. That was the place that Kaname and Sitri had mentioned -- the longstanding members of Ouroboros Spine had moved from Silvertip Mountain to their current location. He wondered if they knew that a new pack had taken up residence there and stored the information in his mind so that he could share it with his leaders just in case.

"I'm from Ouroboros Spine. If you don't mind me asking, how long has your pack lived at Silvertip?" he inquired.
When he said Spine her ears immediately shot forward with intrest. This was a Spine wolf, and that was the exact pack she was looking for. Then when he asked about how long she had been there she kind of spaced out but answered him politely. "We have been there for a few weeks" she answered and now she only saw it fair if he asnwered one of her questions.

"I will be visiting the Spine later to meet your alpha, and I was wondering if I can bring your name up, just so your leader knows I have met someone from their pack" she asked and wondered if he would say yes.
He nodded his head as she informed him how long the new pack had been living at Silvertip Mountain. He was then interested to hear that she was planning a trip to see Cara. Interpack relations were not something Lotan knew a lot about, but it sounded like a good idea. It would be good to communicate with the other groups of wolves in the vicinity, and especially beneficial to let the Spine Alpha know that someone else had taken up residency in her former home.

"Our Alpha female is Cara -- I think she'll be happy to meet with you," he said first and foremost. He then added, "My name is Lotan."
Cara
Bindi would do her best to try and remember that name. Once the male said his name, the dark wolfess took it as permission to bring up his name at the meeting between Silvertip and the Spine. "Nice to meet you Lotan, i'm Bindi" she said proudly and smiled at the male. He seemed nice and Bindi hoped that this Cara was as nice as him. The last thing Bindi needed was to talk to some rude Alpha. The midnight female didn't really know what to do if the Spine refused the information she had to offer. Bindi shook her head slightly and focused back on Lotan unsure what to say next. All she really wanted from him was information, and now she had it. So Bindi stood there, awkwardly staring at the male.
Thanks for the thread. :) You can post once more and have it archived.

It seemed that their conversation was naturally coming to a close; there was no further information that either wolf wanted from the other. There was a brief, awkward silence, and then Lotan said, "Well, good luck with Cara." He wanted to extend an invitation to meet with Bindi when she came to see the Spine's Alpha, but that didn't seem necessary.

With a dip of his head, the agouti male pivoted on his heel and continued on his way, venturing further into the wilderness to gather more information for himself.
Bindi smiled and and said goodbye to Lotan. She waited till the male was out of sight to continue searching for Whitewater Gorge. The midnight wolfess didn't spend much time searching for Runt's hideout, and returned to Silvertip. Thanks to Lotan's help she was one step closer to completing her mission to trade information with the Spine leader.

Bindi realized that she had the power to put the lives of an entire pack in danger, and she liked it. She enjoyed having power.
