Peregrine hated to leave his newly grown family, yet he badly wanted to fetch some fresh meat for Fox. It was wonderful that others were heaping gifts at their doorway, yet it was still his duty to feed his mate and, by proxy, their pups. He kissed all five of them on their heads and lingered in the doorway for a solid ten minutes before finally pulling away. He felt like a paperclip trying to escape a powerful magnet as he trotted out of view and he knew this would have to be a quick and dirty hunt, else he'd go crazy.

Once he climbed down the caldera and began testing the air, it cleared his mind a little bit. The Alpha male came across a few new scents as he sniffed. The Betas had mentioned a couple new recruits in passing when visiting the pups. By the smell of it, one of them was nearby. He didn't know @Hex by name but he began to track his scent. He would hunt down the strange male and probably recruit him as a hunting partner, then get to know him while they hopefully brought down prey of some sort.
The silver fae knew of the pups, and that the parents were the alpha's, but hadn't approached the den. Her presence would only be acknowledged as a threat, for the girl didn't even know anyone except for the beta's and one or two subordinates.

So when she found the scent of Peregrine, she quickly loped after him, hoping she could have a quick word. She wanted to meet her leader for herself, and this may be her only chance for a while.

His dark form appeared up ahead, and she quickly caught up. She did a little bow, followed by a small "Hi" She even gave him a small smile, her stance submissive but friendly.
Hex had been apart of the pack they called Redhawk Caldera for a few days now, though the Kesuk-Nox had spent the majority of the time busying himself with refining the abandoned, half caved in den he'd found and claimed for himself. When he wasn't busy reconstructing that, attempting to make it home in a pack full of strangers to him, he was busy attempting to learn the layout of the pack's claimed lands. It was during such an attempt that he'd, embarrassingly enough managed to somehow double back upon his own tracks, stopping when it was his own scent that flooded his flared, leathery black nostrils in the stead of a fellow pack mate's. A low curse was muttered under his breath, as his ears slicked back to his skull as his own ineptness at learning territories quickly. Obviously, Outrider was out of the question, but then again he'd never been very skilled at tracking. He was much more formidable at things consisting of fights, be it a Warden or Warrior. His body was built to enforce brunt and heavy attacks. He was slowed by his bear-like frame, a common trait in the Kesuk line, but slow and steady won the race — or so he'd heard numerous times as a child when he complained about it.

Eyes of fierce ice blue rolled at his own idiocy as he kicked a clump of dirty snow against the nearest tree trunk with an irritated huff. It had began to become clear as to why he was never Suluk's favorite. Why would he be? He was as uncoordinated with tracking as a klutz was at dancing. For all of his intelligence and he couldn't even manage to memorize even basic things like landmarks. How he'd managed to find his way here, per Ira and Bones' directions was probably nothing more than dumb luck. With a wiry scowl set having set upon his lips, the Kesuk-Nox started forth again, only to pause and hesitate as he stumbled upon an ebony man, one that smelled of newborns and the most prominent scent (besides the Alpha female's own) upon the borders. Hex recognized him as the Alpha Male, Peregrine, he thought Elwood had told him his name was, though his suspicion was merely confirmed by the ivory woman who had lowered herself into submission to him just as Hex entered the scene.

The scowl disappeared from his facial expression but his face was still hard, still disgusted with himself, though Hex had no intentions of sharing in his failures with either of them. “I apologize for the intrusion,” Hex spoke up, assuming that one of them had likely figured out that he was there, anyway. To Peregrine (or whom Hex thought was Peregrine, at any rate) he offered a submissive posture, and to the female whose rank and name were unknown to him he offered a mutual nod, not sure if she was higher ranked or below him. At the moment, it didn't much matter to Hex, who was busy wallowing in his own self depreciation.

Another scent entered his nose, just a few seconds before the wolf herself appeared. Peregrine turned to ascertain his company, jade eyes scrutinizing the stranger's face. She reminded him of Dove, though her two-toned eyes set her apart. She bowed, which he acknowledged with a dip of his black snout. Her demeanor was otherwise submissive, which was perfect for a subordinate first meeting her Alpha.

"Hi. You are?" he replied. Before she could answer, another wolf arrived. This was the one Peregrine had scented. "You're not," he answered simply. "I'm Peregrine. Call me Perry," he said to them both. "Are either of you up for a hunt?" he asked, cutting right to the chase. He had a hungry mate and pups to feed, so there was no time for dithering.
She nodded, thoughtful. So this was Peregrine, or Perry as he said. Hopefully the nickname meant that he wouldn't be the strict dictator she feared. Good. "It would be a honor" she said carefully, not wanting to offend the alpha by speaking bluntly or not at all. She didn't even know him, and thought that now was not the time to go testing his limits.

She stole a quick glance at the other male, who she believed to be new as well. She gave him a small smile of hello, he didn't seem the most talkative.
Since this is outdated and Hex is now gone, I'm just going to conclude this. @Silverfeather, I'd love another thread sometime if your character sticks around RHC. :)

Both new recruits seemed up to the challenge of hunting with their new Alpha and providing for the leading pair's pups. Peregrine waved his tail in approval, then motioned for the two to follow him. He began trotting in the direction of Lake Rodney. He didn't want to go too far from the caldera and ungulate herds tended to congregate on the banks of the great lake. With this in mind, he woofed to his two hunting companions and picked up speed, eager to locate a victim, make the kill and take the prize back home.
