The marbled fox had just sated his hunger, and was lying on the edge of the small meadow he shared with Autumn. He gave a small yawn, exposing rows of tiny glistening teeth. He closed his jaws with a snap, and looked with interest at a small finch looking down at him from a small tree. He smiled at it, and it chirped and flew away. He never ate birds. They didn't deserve to end up a snack. The were smart, and free, and optimistic. A bit like Autumn.

At the thought of her his smile grew, and his blue eyes grew warm.
@Kain
Scouting the lands would be the best way to find the required food and shelter Kain would need. He needed safe zones and places to keep food while knowing where to find the food. He couldn't be too picky about where to stay so he figured he would need more than one so he could easily give them up when he needs to.

Jumping from tree branch to tree branch he continued searching but also keeping a watchful eye on predators. He held his plastic toothpick (shaped like a sword) in his mouth as he moved. Until something of interest cought his eye. A creature that appeared to be a mix of a cat and a dog out on the meadow's edge. He made his way to the closest but highest branch near it. He took his trusty weapon from his mouth and stared. He was trying to figure out what kind of creature it was again. He atleast knew that it was very likely a predator and that he should be cautious.
A blur of movement caught his eye, and he turned to see a squirrel. Then he stared. Was it...it was. The cute, fluffy thing was carrying a lethal looking object, which looked like a fang. Eying him warily, Kesik continued his sunning. "Hello there, squirrel. You can come down, you know. You seem to have sufficient protection, and I'm not hungry." He thought squirrels below him, but decided that this one was different, and could make for interesting lunch conversation. He offered the squirrel a small smile, eyes still on the fang thing that it held. Something told him that this squirrel was not like the others.
It would seem like he got the creature's attention and of course Kain gets invited to come down, again. Ground level was an area full of risk, if Kain was ever to go down there it would only be for a few seconds as long as there was something important he had to do. In this case going down was not worth the risk.

He jumped down to a lower branch but refused to go down farther than three meters. He pointed his weapon at the beast below him. "If I'm to join you down there it would be to defeat you, but I see no reason in that so I'll just stay here on this branch." He lowered his sword and remained perched on a branch. "You must have eaten someone to not be hungry, or maybe you are just lying so I would come down. I won't be fooled that easily!" then pointed his weapon back at the creature. It was natural for Kain to distrust it. But if it really wasn't hungry then that means he wasn't fast enough to save whoever it ate.
Defeat him. Kesik gave a little laugh at that, for which squirrel, of all creatures, would be able to defeat him? "You're smart, squirrel. Stay up on that branch if you care to, but know that I eat only dumb things." He stood and stretched, looking up at the squirrel again.

Suddenly, a small scratching came from in front of Kesik. His eyes locked on a little mouse that dared pop up above the snow. He licked his tiny lips. Sure, he wasn't hungry, but the little mouse looked so tasty...

He took a step toward the foolish thing, who was oblivious to his advantages.
"I don't think that makes a difference." Kain didn't think intelligence had anything to do with selecting something to eat. He was pretty sure if the dog/cat was hungry he would try to eat him whatever he wanted. So Kain was going to stay on this branch, that is, until a foolish mouse showed up and cought the predator's attention.

"Run my friend!" He yelled as he jump down towards the creature's back and then poking the back of the neck with the sword. Kain wasn't strong enough to pierce but it would still likely hurt. The best way he knew out to tell with creature's larger than him was to grab hold of the back of the neck. There he knew he couldn't be reached by fang or claw.
He tensed his muscles to spring, when a sudden weight and bit of pain made him cry out and spring high into the air, as high as his strong back legs could take him. The mouse was quick to escape, but Kesik was angry with this squirrel for disrupting his meal time. So when he fell, he angled his body so that he would fall on his back, hopefully crushing the squirrel into the snow. His neck stung, and the squirrel had the fortune to strike where his skin was thin, a tender spot. A tiny spot of crimson leaked out, and Kesik winced.
The ride was going to be short, Kain saw that coming when the creature turned onto it's back. Kain had plently of time to react to this and all he had to do was jump away to the nearest tree, and that was the plan. He placed his sword in his mouth and leapt as far as he could to the nearest tree. He had to rush no matter what, ground level was too dangerous to remain in place. The trees are the only safe places he can count on and he better hurry. Even if he is light and is able to get around easily that didn't mean he would be faster than the dog/cat. Luckly the trees were not far since he jumped down from one.

Once he reaches the tree he'll climb up onto a branch knowing that he will be safe and then look down at the creature with a squirrelly grin.
Kesik looked up sadly as the squirrel flashed him a toothy grin. He gave a small little whimper, the squirrel was mean. He stood on his back legs, front curled close to his chest. "We foxes must eat too, Squirrel. If we foxes didn't eat the mice, the whole world would be covered with them! They would eventually eat all the things that mice eat, and then they would all starve and die. So you see, if we didn't keep the population in check they would all die!" He dropped back to his feet, quite proud of his logic.
With sword in hand he contested the idea. "Oh yeah? I believe you are just making an excuse. They can live without you, but you can not! I doubt mice would die completely, at the worse case they will fight each other to survive but that doesn't change the amount of hardship they face with creatures like you!"

Kain stood up straight and pointed his sword at the 'fox'. "You have been defeated by Kain Mcfly. Today you shall not eat anyone, Not when I'm around! I will win this war once all the meat eaters starve. I'll be known as a hero!" He said loud and clear. He felt superior than the fox. He can survive with out eating anyone but not the fox. It was a clear advantage that he planed to use against them.
