Autumn woke up. She stretched her orange legs, and smiled. Her sleepy eyes drifted around the den. Something's missing, she thought. That's weird. Kesik's usually here, this early. She thought with a glance outside the den at the early morning sky. She got up, following his scent. When she got outside a light snow covered the ground, and it was still softly coming down. No pawprints were visible, and his scent was buried underneath the snow layer. "Kesik! Kesik, where are you?!" She called into the morning air, disturbing the calm silence. Autumn began in different directions through the snow. She went on nearly every path possible in the Meadow. He wouldn't leave the meadow without her. He was no where to be found, nor his scent. "Kesik!" She sobbed into the wind that was beginning to pick up. It was nearly one o' clock and she'd spent hours exploring every spot in Wapun trying to find him. She trudged home through the snow, and plopped herself down in her den. The ground was still littered with some of his white, grey, and black hairs. Her eyes glazed over and silently a tear slipped from her eye. Then another. Suddenly tears streamed down her cheeks, streaking her face. "Kesik!!!!!" She screamed/sobbed/shrieked, her ears flattening to her skull. He was killed. He ran away with someone better. Caiaphas stole him. He dumped her. He killed himself. He was eaten. He got lost. So many possibilities swirled through Autumn's head. He was gone. Her first and only love was gone. He hadn't even gotten to meet her family. She had imagined their future together... and now her new boyfriend was already gone. He had been perfect. Kind, loving, sweet, calm, gentle, protective, gentlemanly... And he had loved her back. Or had he? Maybe he found someone better and left her. At this thought she buried her head beneath her jet-black paws and weeped again. As the tears streamed down her face, she trembled as the wind and snow blew outside her den, no, their den.  She wept for the rest of the day and into the night. Her heart had been shattered into a million pieces, and it was not an easy fix.....
