She felt an urge to kill Caiaphas that she needed to smooth down, and she wasn't going to get that by staying so close to the siren queen. She needed time to think, to organize her mind. She had a desicion to make. It had crossed her mind to walk past the borders and never look back, but she had tried it once getting awful results, and she wasn't eager to go through it again. She had to stay, at least until she found the right company to get back to Temiscyra Coast, or she would have to make a huge effort to get Ankyra Sound back on the right track. Either would take time and patience, and the latter wasn't one of Aella's brightest attributes.

She loved the place, and she guarded it like her own palace. Between the titanic sequoias and under the pale glints of light that announced the dawn Aella walked, looking down with an ireful frown and spitting out profanities in her mother tongue.
