After she’d departed from the first and only home she’d ever known, Bambi hadn’t known what to expect. She hadn’t intended to join the ranks of another pack right away, but she certainly hadn’t planned on remaining a loner for as long as she had. The solitary life was not suited for a creature like her. She was as a social pack wolf who craved the company of others. In the long months since she departed her father’s pack, Bambi had been miserable. Not once did she regret her decision to strike out on her own, though. Nothing in the world could have convinced the female to live under her father’s sexist reign again.

Early morning found the pale-furred newcomer roaming through the coniferous forest. The trees stood tall and foreboding around her, and her sleek figure weaved easily between them. Although she was slim by nature, Bambi had lost some weight during her travels. Prey had been hard to come by, and hunting large game on her own was not something she was especially comfortable with. She’d settled for what she could find.

Little sunlight was able to penetrate the thick canopy of woodland that Bambi now called home. Mist and fog seemed to cling to the tree trunks wherever she turned. Learning to navigate the place would prove to be a task in itself for the woman, but she was confident in her abilities to succeed in this new pack. Mint-green eyes flickered curiously about Bambi’s quiet surroundings, pale ears cupping forward with interest as she observed the pack lands – what she was able to see of them, at least. Perhaps she would encounter another pack mate or two that morning, but for the time being Bambi was content to mosey around on her own.

The french woman had every desire in the world to meet her pack mates. Blanc wanted more than to ascend in the ranks, she wanted to have wolves she might consider a friend. Blanc was more of a lover than anything else, but she could be abrasive and rough. She had few friends at home, and mostly competitors; her elder siblings, for instance, did not take kindly to her fathers reign. It meant the end of their mother, even her own; for Bluet DeMonte was older, now. It was more than kindness that enabled her to lead beside her father; Bluet retained her lovely visage even despite her age, and enamored, her father kept her in his ranks and at her side. Bluet was smart, political; her father was just a savage. He could learn a thing or two.

Blanc pushed away the thoughts of her family. They were unimportant as to who she would become herself, without them; and so, she set off to find her leader, or any other wolf who would not mind her company. It mattered not to Blanc who she ran into; any wolf at all was company enough for her.

It was pure luck that she happened upon someone sooner rather than later. Blanc paused for an instant upon seeing the other, her fiery eyes assessing as she lifted her head and tail to alert the other of her strength and prowess. Even if the other might be of a higher rank than her, Blanc was bold; there was nothing quite like establishing yourself, earning your place, keeping it. Blanc's salmon pink tongue ran over her nostrils to clear them some, and she noted that the other was new, perhaps even newer than she. Her tail, although stiff and high, seemed to shift in a wave; Blanc offered the other some semblance of friendliness, even while promising the other that she was not one to be trifled with, of the strength behind the pretty face. An ear shifted and she waited, wondering if the other even wanted company. Unfortunately, what she had earned from her paternal side was her inability to read emotions.
Peeking through the mist, Bambi was able to make out the form of another wolf up ahead. At first she almost mistook the stranger to be Chakra, the forest’s queen, but a closer inspection proved Bambi wrong. This female had an unmistakably athletic build and carried herself with pride. Instinctively, the Omega shrank closer to the ground, her tail drooping submissively against her haunches. She aspired to climb the ranks someday soon for she, too, was ambitious, but she also knew her place. As much as she despised her rank, she knew it would not haunt her forever. Hard work would see her towards a prosperous future. If her father had taught her anything, it was that loyalty and determination would carry her far in life.

A polite dip of her muzzle was offered towards the other woman and her tail waved gently against her heels. “I hope this morning finds you well,” she woofed in greeting. “My name is Bambi. I’m new to Neverwinter.” Green eyes flickered observantly over the snowy female’s form. With any luck, the encounter would signal the beginning of a valuable friendship between two pack wolves. Bambi was not one to expect companionship from others, especially when she had so much to prove still, but after being without it for long she was practically desperate.
