It was one of, if not the, first times she'd ventured out of the Spine and today, it was just to stretch her legs. She'd been patrolling ever since they'd taken over and twice already, they'd had to run down intruders. Today, she'd passed Echelon at the borders, giving her a brief nudge as she moved towards the fields. While she worked hard day in and day out, Kroc knew how important it was to take time away from her self-appointed job. She would not let the Pack down because she got burnt out. Fuck that shit.

Now found her with her side up against a tree, Kroc scratched at an itch that she hadn't been able to reach on her own. Frowning, the female realized that the bark wasn't reaching where she needed it to. Adjusting her stance, she tried again, but still couldn't get it. A growling curse left her right before she practically threw herself onto the ground...

And started wriggling, squirming on her back to get that damned itch.
I don't think you're ready for the jelly! Minor PP permission granted!

Oh the life of a loner. To wander wherever the wind might lead. It was a drifty sort of lifestyle. Nomadic. It meant he could pretty much do whatever he wanted when he wanted as long as he stayed out of other packlands. Awesome. That meant the rest of the world was just about his and he could piss all over it with pleasure. He wanted that bush? He'd take that bush. Hell yeah. King of the bush. Living life as the whizz kid.

He'd done that. Multiple times actually. He was an expert bush, tree, etc... pee-er. His favorite was the leg lift, spray 'em type that went everywhere. His range was excellent. Of course, it helped that in his excessive free time, he'd been practicing.

It was at that precise moment of practicing his excellent aim that he caught the scraping and panting of a wolf nearby. His ears flicked towards the sound before he homed in on his bull's eye, emptied his bladder and decided to check it out. Lowering his leg, he gave himself a masculine sort of wiggle walk before settling into his normal pace and hunting down the commotion.

He found her, sprawled on her back and wiggling. With a smirk, he leapt into action without thinking and pinned her. Kind of. He didn't actually touch her. He just hovered over her with his paws on either side of her hips and shoulders while putting their faces at the same end. "Wiggly little worm, aren't ya?" he asked, looking down at her. "Got fleas?"
She was fine, the terrible feeling of irritated nerves finally soothed by her rolling around in the dirt. Whether it was a bite or just one of those intermittent problems that all wolves had, Kroc was unsure. She didn't much care either, her squirming slowing. She would have stopped, would have lain there on her side for a moment until she felt like getting up. She was on her own time for right now, and could have done so, if she wanted to.

If another had not appeared above her, immediately causing her body to tense and stiffen. Snarling, Kroc's head twisted to bite down on his ankle, tugging on it to shift his balance and pull him down and roll him over, now positioning herself on all fours over him. Ha. She smirked, a glint of yellowed teeth showing in the expression.

Her violent streak was quiet today, at least right now; she could play King of the Hill for a little while, both of them trying to best the other. Should he provoke her, that violence would come forward, but a little rough and tumble never hurt anyone. Much.
Woah there missy. All these lady wolves sure were bitey and grumbly and growly.

She snapped at his foot, appropriately catching him off balance as she maneuvered him beneath her and reversed their positions. She snarled down at him. Or was that a smile? He couldn't quite tell. Either way, her breath reeked which suggested she needed to spend a little more time on personal hygiene. Maybe a little more bone gnawing to wear off all that plaque. Correction, someone else's bones. Not his. Unless... Nah. She wouldn't be up for that.

Alas, flat on his back was not so much a position he enjoyed for this activity. He mirrored her previous move, biting at her paw opposite of the one she'd snagged on him. If it worked, awesome. If not, he could play hot potato for a bit and go back and forth at her paws until they rolled, placing him back on top with her below. Only this time he pressed a paw against her shoulder, leveraging his masculine weight against her body to hold her there a while longer before slipping that very same paw back to the ground and allowing her the same wiggle room she'd had when they'd started this little game.

"Pinned ya again," he said with a far less yellowed grin. He lowered the flat of his head against her furry chest and nested his crown against it. Playful. Friendly. Non-threatening. "Now should I worry about fleas or are you clean?"
They rolled again and the pale being found amusement in it, found an exit for the aggression that so often lingered in her psyche. They did their weird tango, her pulling her paws out of the grasp of his teeth, alternating sides just as he did. Her muscle cramped, he caught her paw and her body hit the ground, dust furling up around her as it was dislodged from the earth.

While he pinned her, Kroc knew that with the right movement, she could escape her "entrapment". And yet she didn't, baring her teeth at him in jest as he posed his question, his head on her body. With a snort she twisted, hooking a leg around his midsection and rolled. Again. But better than that, she dropped her full weight on him, her heavy frame pinning him to the ground, tenfold the pressure he had used to keep her down.

And then the teeth, gnawing not-so-gently on his ear, just on the verge of breaking skin to give him a taste of annoying medicine. Just as fast, it was over and she rolled away, standing and shaking off that grey fur. "No fleas. You might worry if you're just as much of a nuisance though."
He nestled against her, burying his head against her bosom as he asked her about fleas. Given the scenario, it was far too late for any kind of real concern. Instead, Kerosene continued the jest as a way of keeping the conversation moving. Or rather, lack there of. It seemed a large number of women in these parts were the strong silent types. A personality he found more becoming of men than the ladies he continued to encounter. No matter. If she didn't want to talk, he was quite adept at carrying on a one-sided conversation. Traveling alone made for a lot of practice in talking to oneself.

She caught him again. They rolled, placing his back against the ground only this time she belly flopped on him and let gravity hold him steady. He wasn't expecting it. A little pressure maybe, but not the full weight of her body. Damn. Girl knew how to eat. She was solid. Thick. Sturdy. A lot of muscle on that one and heavy at that. Her weight, was enough to knock the breath out of him momentarily. The second her teeth went for his ear though? Hot damn. This. This was why he could be okay with a woman on top.

He lifted a hind foot to kick at her side. If he could flip her again, he could return the favor, but she was quick to show him she had other ideas. The silverish, white-gray wolf rolled off of him and sauntered away. Kero found his footing and followed suit, shaking out his dusty red pelt for a moment before he countered and lifted a paw to bat at her ears. "Is that right?" he said, landing the first paw and going in with the other. He landed again and moved, circling around to snatch up her tail. "What exactly might I have to worry about?"
Gold eyes settled on the red form, teeth snipping at his paw as it neared her head. There was a touch to her ear, a feeling that made her shake her head and snap her teeth again, though not very aggressively. Actually, this was rather mild for the female who, normally, would sooner claw out your eyeballs than actually talk. This one didn't hit her annoyance meter very hard, though if he truly worked at it, she was sure he could get there.

"Nothing much. Just my teeth in your face." The easy shrug of her shoulders and the slight smile were deceiving; she would actually tear his face off if he got to be too much for her 'delicate' mind-frame. She swung a paw at his muzzle, large and solid. It was nothing more than a swat but Kroc wasn't even sure how to hold back, making her version of 'play' rough and possibly more dangerous than playing with a smaller, more sociable wolf.

She moved to swipe at his paws, attempting to knock his front paws out from under him. "What're you doing out here anyway?" She questioned, ears positioning to listen to whatever answer he had to shoot back at her. His motives were yet unclear and she intended to figure out what they were, to determine how much of a threat he could be to the Spine.
Kero laughed. Her spitfire attitude was amusing. As was her bluntness. He had a feeling some part of him had struck her fancy or this little meeting might not have gone over so well. Perhaps it was the fact that he was unaffiliated with any pack and she had a tribe of wolves to run home to if things got out of hand. Maybe it was just the way he toyed with her, but hadn't actually done anything beyond playful wolfish gestures. Whatever the case, he was glad those teeth weren't gnashing for real. He had a feeling violence was far easier for this one than playing.

"Nice smile, crocodile," he teased only to receive a paw to his face. He rocked with the blow. There'd been a fair amount of weight to it, then again, he'd already ascertained that this she was a heavyweight. Of course, then she went for his paws again and he jumped, hopping over her swipe as he proved he too was capable of these games even if they weren't his natural instinct. He could fight, he just had to be goaded into it. Needed a reason and all that.

He lunged forward, pairing her swipe with a swat of his own. Upward, more of a boxing motion towards her ears than anything else. "Just scratching an itch," he jested at her question. "What are you doing out here. Aren't your homelands that way?" Yeah. He'd run into a wolf that smelled like her before. Edged awfully close to it's borders. He knew where she came from. The better question, was why was she here?
Her gaze sharpened, landing on him as her posture stiffened for a moment, standing stock still as she peered at the cinnamon colored wolf. How he had guessed her name, she was unsure but it was a bit... unsettling. This was noticeable in the way her hair slowly prickled along her spin, hackles halfway risen in her discomfort. "Who are you, wolf?" 99% sure they had not met before was apparently not enough. She would have to draw information out of him if she was going to learn how he knew to refer to her as such. "How do you know my name?"

His other comments and actions fell by the wayside for the moment, stalled by this occurrence. Besides. By the way he referred to the Spine, obviously he knew which way she'd come from. "You answer my question and I'll answer yours." If he refused... The easily agitated wolf had no doubt that their meeting would take a turn, moving from lighthearted to deadly in only a matter of words and moments. What happened now was on him entirely.
Eaassssyy there Bessy. Clearly he'd stepped to close to some sort of personal boundary and it wasn't sure if it was something he said or something he did, but those fangs of hers went from friendly to ferocious in a hot second. Her hackles raised. He'd struck a nerve. She elaborated. Ahhh. Apparently his expression was close to her name somehow? What? Um. Awkward.

"Woah. White woman, slow down." He backed up, hoping a little distance between the two of them would allow her a chance to breathe. "It's an expression." He had no idea where she came from (lie, he smelled the spine on her) or what her name was (truth). "You know... Crocodile. With the teeth. Chompy. Chompy?" He watched her for a moment, waiting for it to click. "Animal that lives in the water. Giant lizard. Big teeth." Maybe she wasn't as well traveled as he was... Okay then.
She eyed him, stiff and stationary. He babbled and that annoyed part of her but... she knew what a crocodile was and his mannerisms told her that... he wasn't trying to talk his way out of trouble. There was a difference between that and scrambling to explain yourself, subtle but still there if you looked for it. He wasn't looking to rile her up and she wasn't looking to make a bad name for the Spine. She would not attack a lone wolf for no reason as he yet hadn't done anything wrong. Yet.

"I know what a crocodile is, shit-for-brains." A pause, a sly look, and she darted forward snipping her teeth just a hair's breadth from his nose before seeking to bring him down with her sheer weight again, time after time until he went down and they tumbled together.

She would break away again, snapping her jaws at his tail as she circled him. "Nice to meet you, shit-for-brains. The name's Kroc." She grinned, her hackles flat as she came around his front again, somewhat tense in case he decided to return the pounce.
Riiight. She totally knew what a crocodile was, but couldn't separate the expression using an animal to whatever it was that was setting her off. She called him a name. He grinned, a lazy, knowing sort of expression that came with those coy, narrowed eyes as he stared down his muzzle towards her. Shit-for-brains. This wasn't the first time he'd been underestimated. It wasn't going to be the last.

"Cute. Real cute," he said as she lunged forward, snapping her teeth awfully close to his nose. He chose that exact moment to lick hers, rolling his pink tongue over her dark nares and stealing it back just as quick. She was after him again, going for that rough and tumble he hadn't really experienced since he was a pup. Back then, a good romp with his brothers was pure entertainment. Now? And with a lady. He didn't mind at all. Nope. Not one little bit.

They rolled. She stole away, snapping at his tail as she darted out of reach. Kero righted himself, watching as she circled him. Unmoving, he let her look him over, let her circle as she finally introduced herself and explained why she was so quick to growl over his choice expression. Made sense. "A pleasure, Kroc. Name's Shit-for-brains. How'd you know?"

He ducked then, tucking his nose beneath her head and catching her chest upon the flat of his crown. He lifted his neck, coming up beneath her in hopes to lift her forepaws off the ground. It was an awkward move. A-typical at best, but given her size, he decided to switch it up a bit. They were playing after all. The move was harmless. Besides. She seemed like the kind of gal who liked to be on top.
They were at it again, playful snaps of teeth and pushes and words. Always words, but that was okay. She got enough of silence within the pack and sometimes, words were good. Useful, of course, but they held amusement for her too, especially when it came to someone who dealt in things more her speed rather than those who were taken aback by her gruffness. It didn't help that she pushed them away with violence either.

"Half lucky guess. Half because your eyes look brown in this light, which tells me how full of it you are." That churlish smile pulled at her expression as he attempted to lift her front paws off the ground. Pushing off the dirt, she raised up a little, helped by the cinnamon wolf. Tipping back, she landed on her back, back paws aiming at his face as her tail swished across the ground a time or two.
He snorted. She rolled with it well. Her tongue was quick and snarky enough to keep up. It was rare quality. So often he felt as though wit was a lost art. Nice to meet someone who had a knack for it as well. Nice to meet someone sassy and playful too. Just when he was starting to think too many wolves in these parts took themselves too seriously he'd met a change of pace. It was a breath of fresh air.

Kero lifted her. She rolled, landing on her back and twisting to paw at his face. Her foot caught him on the nose. Her nails slipped beneath his lip, causing his face to distort as he nibbled at her toes and hopped backward. Lowering his head, his teeth found purchase on her tail and he pulled, still hopping back as he tugged her right along.
Teeth on her tail made her rumble and growl, kicking at him again as he pulled her in some random direction. "Motherfucker, that hurts." She twisted again, rolling to her feet to turn and snap at him, coming far closer to his nose than was likely comfortable. The offended appendage switched behind her before she hooked a leg around his neck and put her teeth to his ear, pulling at it with little abandon. He could feel pain similar to what it had been like for him to drag her by her tail. "Shay uncle, f'cker," She rumbled, muffled by the grip she had on his sensitive flesh. Better his ear than other things.
100th post!

Kero grinned, laughing as he tugged at her tail. Mouthy woman, wasn't she? His ears flicked forward, dropping her tail as she flipped around and snapped him again. Too close! Too close. Except... He licked her again. Chancing it. More of a "Tag, you're it" than anything else, but if she was going to invade his space he could certainly push her own bounds while her teeth were closed. Lucky for him, his tongue was quick.

Of course, she lifted again, hooking a leg around his neck as she chomped down on his ear. He lowered it, attempting to flatten that audit against his crown as he jerked his head aside and spun, circling beneath her. "Never!" he cried, shaking his head as he tried to free himself from those chompers.
The more he shook, the more the bearish female laid her weight into him, trying to topple him again even as she chewed at his ear. However, her teeth caught him, he shook and the pressure she felt immediately made her release the wolf, not intending to cause any sort of permanent damage. Not right now, at least.

Growling in a non serious manner, Kroc bent her front down into the signature gesture of play, her teeth showing exactly how they'd be doing that. The fact that he didn't mind such rough methods was good, and it made the beast less likely to get testy with him, as he was one of the few outside of the Spine that seemed to be able to handle her own attitude.
Aww. She released him far too quickly. He understood the difference between play and lasting damage, but they were not fragile frail children who could not survive a little more intensity. Sure, it might take them a while longer to recover, but at least they had the know how to understand what they were getting into.

She stepped back, sinking down into a playful sort of stance. Her growls were non-threatening, just as his own body language and posture reflected that same sort of non-combative nature. Except, there was a part of him that wondered just how capable she was. Her size suggested strength and berserker hard-headedness. The rest of her echoed that sentiment.

Kero stepped forward, moving to hook an arm about her neck as he moved to stand along side her. His paw pressed against the back of her neck as he turned his muzzle towards her ear. "Fight me for real?" he suggested, throwing the offer into the air. "A friendly spar."
Spar thread, just wanted to give this way a shot. :)

A short, harsh sound left her, a laugh of sorts as he offered to fight her for real, his paw over her shoulders like they were better than new acquaintances. "You asked for it," was all the warning he got, her body rising from its crouch in a surge of movement, meant to displace and disorient. Instead of letting him settle, Kroc moved to take advantage of the invitation, attempting to shoulder-check him in the chest to knock him over so that she could immediately overpower him. Kroc was smart about fighting, knowing that the longer it lasted, the less chance she had of winning to his likely superior endurance.
She was quick to agree and quicker to take the little kid gloves off. Without warning she rose, shaking him from her back. He righted himself and had a half second to figure out she'd started before she rammed him in the chest with her shoulder. That hurt. Rattled, he stumbled and fell, letting the momentum roll him.

Up and over, he was back on his feet. A snarl ripped from his muzzle as he lunged at her, using his closeness of the ground to get beneath her, snapping at her hind knee. He'd been a loner for too long. He felt slow and out of practice, but the way they were playing earlier? Whatever the outcome, he knew this would be good.
She took him by surprise, knocking him to the ground with the force behind all that weight but be doing so, he was given access to her underside, her legs. Surprisingly, he didn't go for them then but did so after he'd gotten back up. In an almost dancing-like step, the female picked up her feet and moved out of the way. No way in hell was she letting those teeth near her legs. While this was play, teeth and legs often made for some kind of permanent damage. Just no.

Half way between his rush for her leg, Kroc too, rushed forward, staying to the high road instead of going down to his level. Teeth snapped at his scruff, seeking purchase to hold him and maybe toss him around a little. When that didn't work, she backed off again, watching him with a smile from those gold eyes. "Come at me, bro." A laugh and a half a circle later, Kroc was ready for him to come close again.
Ugh. No dice. She moved out of the way almost as if she'd been expecting it. Then again, he was trying to haul his ass off the ground so she had plenty of time to skirt his chomping teeth. Heh. Chomping teeth. She was supposed to be the crocodile here, not him.

She used his movement as an opportunity to seek out his nape. Kero squirmed, wiggling out of the way as she chomped down on a little fur that was already loose. Hah. Remnants of his winter coat no doubt, that, or he was shedding again. Either or. Nevertheless she turned around and faced him, taunting him once more.

Up on his paws, Kero squared off to her. Alright. His turn to charge. He gathered up a little momentum and ran towards her, before he lowered his body to slide across the dirt like one might expect a baseball player sliding into home. It was something he'd always wanted to try, but apparently it was hella unsuccessful. Oh well. He righted himself and turned to meet whatever she wanted to try next.
Another laugh as he skidded towards her, a cloud of dirt and dust thrown into the air by the act. Whether that was his intention or not, Kroc jerked her head up to get her nose out of it. There was no good to inhaling a bunch of shit like that; unfortunately she had to wait for most of it to clear before she was focused on him again, ears pitching forward for a moment before she moved again, putting on as much speed as a tank could in such a short distance. Teeth flashed but it was not a bite she tried land again, instead aiming to barrel him over to pin him to the ground with a paw on his throat.
He grinned, smiling within the could of dust that was more his color than he wanted to admit. Not a successful slide, but kind of fun. Maybe he'd sneak up on someone that way in the future, but for now? Now he turned back around and focused on whatever the white wonder wanted to throw at him.

She was waiting for something. The dust to settle maybe. It spread between them; her on one side, him on the other. Kero lifted the less dusty paw over his nose and waited for it to clear. Or not. The dust stirred and she barreled on through. Her white form, pushing through the haze. Whatever she was doing, she must have been running with her eyes closed because she clipped him and Kero turned to grab her by the tail and give her a good yank backwards.
His jaws grasped her tail and she swallowed a surprised yelp, letting it morph into a terrible sound as she spun on her heel to attack him. That tail yank hurt like a bitch, and he was gonna pay for it. Teeth smashed in his face, trying to make him let go, though as this was a more playful spar, Kroc pulled her bites so that she did not cause him true harm. A paw swung towards his head, hopefully rattling his cage a bit and knocking him loose from her damn tail.
