I'm a bit rusty. >_>;

Mint found herself in new place again and she had to admit she was liking it. Black lips formed a smile as white legs carried her toward a scent that caught her attention. No doubt it was another pack in the area. She lost count of how many she had passed before discovering this one. Her plan was to finally settle down in a pack after spending so much time on her own but she had no idea she would have so many options to choose from, and she had a feeling that there were even more.

The scent of the border became stronger which was the perfect sign to inform her that she could no longer continue. Mint stopped just a few feet before the border as she pondered whether she should just move on, like she had the others, or take the time to further investigate the pack. There was something different about this pack, however; she could smell it in the air. The area hadn't been claimed for long and that was what caused her to make up her mind as a black marked muzzle pointed skyward allowing her voice to be heard.
Youre fiiiine. This'll be short. At work.

The call caught her attention, bringing the diplomat to her feet to go investigate. There were more and more wolves here, accumulating under the Prince's rule. It was curious, for some of them didn't know any of them and yet trusted him to do right by them. No doubt Xiuh wasn't happy about it but the newcomers seemed to be, as did Tuwawi. She assumed this one would feel the same way.

Her approach slowed, bright eyes taking in the pale female. Her tail rose instinctively, for she was a pack wolf and this was a loner. Welcome to Frostfire Ridge. Looking to join, I assume? She didn't look like a warrior but who knew? Maybe she was. Maybe she wasn't but would be okay with learning. Maybe. I'm Nochtli. Your name?

The thought of relaxing while she waited for a response came and went, especially when minted eyes fell upon a dark figure approaching. Mint felt normal...up until this point when a hint of anxiousness appeared. She pushed it away with a swallow as she prepared herself to express her submissive side. Mint knew nothing about this pack except the fact that it was new.

The small wolf smiled with a nod to Nochtli's greeting, relaxing only a little so not be too disrespectful. She wanted to leave a good impression and she wasn't sure exactly what they were looking for in a wolf. After all she could be declined a chance to join if they didn't like her, right? "My name is Akira but most just call me Mint." Her black dipped tail twitched happily as she continued. "And yes, I am very interested. Would you mind telling me a little about the pack?" She didn't know why it drew her attention the most out of the packs she passed. Perhaps it was the thought of starting a new life with a newly formed pack.
She was submissive, which made sense. Nochtli was pleased by the display, knowing it was just another step that they wouldn't have to take. "Mint it is." Her tail switched behind her. "Frostfire Ridge is lead by Tezcacoatl. We earn our place here, and earn our standing in the pack by becoming accomplished warriors. It is what we are, to our core. With strength, we can better support and protect one another." Notchli, though she had not sparred in a while, was still just that. "Is this something you already know or are willing to learn?" If so, the Amazon had an idea, one that would not only freshen her technique but give her a good gauge on this girl's experience.
Tezcacoatl. She attempted to put the name to memory, much like Nochtli's, as she continued to listen. White ears twitched with interest at the mention of warriors as well. It wasn't just that either; the way the other spoke...it was as if she could feel how Nochtli felt about her pack. Mint almost opened her muzzle to tell her to let her in but she did take the time to actually think about it. Her next move was more than just a yes or no. This was a turning point and there was nothing wrong with being smart about it. Mint was too loyal to join half heartedly.

Mint stood there only allowing a small pause after the question with a thoughtful expression. Now, the lone wolf was well aware she lacked the appearance of a warrior and the look wasn't deceiving at all. She was small, soft looking, and never really been in major fights. But. It didn't mean she couldn't learn. A slightly toothy grin appeared because the more she thought about it the more she became excited and with that her decision was made. "I'm most willing to learn." It was about time she learned to fight for herself and "I want to become stronger and I don't want to do it alone." She was tired of being alone.
The female, Mint, didn't immediately respond. To Nochtli, this was a good sign. It meant she was actually thinking about this. When she spoke up, the Amazon's tail waved behind her, pleased. If the girl was willing to learn, then as long as she kept that mentality, she would always find a way to become 'stronger'.

"I'd like to see what skills you have, and Tezcacoatl would likely prefer this as well. I will call him and we will spar. We can figure outs your strengths and weaknesses that way." No sooner did she finish speaking, her voice rose up to call @Týrr to them, a request to observe and oversee the potential recruit.

An excitement buzzed through her, the electric feeling of adrenaline flitting through her at the prospect of a fight, no matter if it was friendly or not.
The howl from the stranger, no doubt at Frostfire Ridge's borders, had not gone unnoticed by the serpent king; rather when he had altered his course to intercept the stranger he had caught onto Nochtli's trail and hung back, allowing the diplomat and scout to handle the situation. Out of the newer Amazons that had came to him he trusted her the most — though in all fairness he didn't trust Xiuhcoatl as far as he could throw her (not far) and for nothing short of good reason — and Citali remained hard for him to decipher; thus he trusted Nochtli's judgment, though he deigned to withhold his judgments until they'd either proved themselves or proved that they weren't worth keeping around. Nochtli knew what he expected and from meeting initial expectations the rest was purely on the shoulders of the newcomer where they went from there. Whether they prospered or crumbled under the weight of what it meant to be a wolf of Frostfire Ridge.

Tezcacoatl passed his time by worrying a bone he'd torn from the leg of a fawn he'd buried earlier in the week, strengthening his jaw muscles and savoring the taste of it's marrow as he gnawed away at it, trapping it between the earth and one large paw to hold it steady. He paused mid-crunch upon it, velveteen ears alert atop his skull when Nochtli's howl rose into the air. She did not sound distressed and this soothed the primitive and territorial instincts that had rushed through him mere seconds before he deciphered her message. Despite that it meant abandoning his bone which he'd been enjoying, he hastily buried it to return to and made his way in their direction.

Tezcacoatl's stance became more dominate as their silhouettes rose into the distance, long legs taking him quickly to the ebony amazon's side. He greeted her with a soft bump of his shoulder, stopping when he stood ahead of her, eyes cut of crystalline observing and assessing the female that lingered in the area he'd always considered 'no man's land'. “I presume you are looking to join,” The amazon rekkr addressed Mint. “I am Tezcacoatl, king of Frostfire Ridge.” He introduced himself, though he doubted much of an introduction (that included his rank anyway) was needed. Body posture often spoke for itself.
Sorry for the delay guys <3! I had internet problems and had to get a new modem and then some other things got in the way. >_>;

A spar. Mint nodded with enthusiasm but her mind was full of thoughts. She couldn't help but feel both excited and nervous at the same time. Sparing with Nochtli would certainly feel nostalgic. Many times she had sparred with her siblings, gaining whatever experience she had mainly from those times. The nervousness she felt mingled with the anticipation was from her worry of not being able to impress them with whatever skills she had. What if her demonstration made them feel there was no hope in teaching her and automatically rejected her? No. Mint couldn't focus on that or her worries would come to be.

So instead of showing her doubts she smiled with confidence, preparing herself for the dual. She would put all her efforts in showing what strength she had and what weakness she needed to work on. Her tail moved behind her as she waited for the one called Tezcacoatl to appear and it didn't take too long either. At one glance she already knew it was him. The way he carried himself screamed he was the King. Her body moved before she was conscious of it as  she displayed her submission once again. "Yes," she replied. "My name is Mint. It's a pleasure." Her eyes bounced between the two for a moment before continuing. "Nochtli had mentioned a spar to assess my strengths and weaknesses before her call."
