Draugur was born two years after Eitri, the only to breathe in his litter of stillborns; the last child his parents were able to have given their age. Bjorg and Gunnhildr were a well respected Berserker, Shield-Maiden pairing and during their last raid when Draugur was six months age left their youngest child orphaned. Eitri had stepped up as the role of father-figure in Draugur's life, cementing a strong bond between the brothers. Draugur took to the Berserker life with relative ease, earning the title of <i>Sigurvegarinn</i> from his exploits on raids and in battle. It was little over a year of Draugur's age that Eitri stepped up to lead the Cove as <i>Jarl</i> shortly before Eitri became a new father to three sons. It was shortly after his nephew's birth that Draugur was summoned and sent away on a quest passed from the Gods, to the Seer, and then to Eitri to conquer as many packs as he could in the name of the Cove. To spread the word that the Northmen were coming.

Draugur had been back to the Cove a handful of times after that, only staying long enough to report his progress to Eitri before moving on again. It was with the news of Eitri's death at the jaws of his eldest son that Draugur decided to continue his mission but that he would never return to the Cove, knowing that without his brother there was nothing there to hold him there, and no one to keep his chains, of which he had broken free of as his brother's warm life blood spilled across the earth, in check. Thus, the Sigurvegarinn became a mercenary of sorts, figuring that since he had no home anymore that he would take or make his own.
