Charley was born in a litter of two, with only a twin sister named Emory.
Normally its the mother whose doting and loving and calm and dedicated to her children, and its the father going off fuckin' other girls and having new babies: but Charley and Emory had the unfortunate fate of having that spun around.
Their mother, Reni, was a spiteful, spoiled, and vain female who couldn't be bothered to not cheat on her mate, Stoic. Despite many bastard litters being allowed to live and thrive beside his own puppies, he stayed with the faithless woman. Their father raised them with all the love and care from both parents, staying loyal to his mate. He was repaid by the skank turning her new love affair on him and killing the only good person in the twins' lives.
It was the day of their father's death that they took their leave, not bothering to say goodbye after the burial of their dad. Twisting his lessons into learning to con and manipulate, the two Pryor children survive for a while on their own. Reek came into their lives not long after, and another year was spent with the three doing.... Well, QUESTIONABLE things. After he departed from them in search of a new life, the twins were left alone yet again. Another year of bad things led them to the Teekon Wilds, where they again met up with a changed Reek and join his pack: Larksong Grotto. It is there Charley meets Aspen, and the stoic male crumbles in his affection towards her. Though he still treats everyone else about the same, she has been raised to a goddess level in his eyes.
After rejecting the faith Reek tried to enforce, Charley and Aspen leave to find their Kingdom with a group of followers in their wake.
They find and settle in Golden Glade, calling themselves Royal Fire Court. It is merely a day after settling that Aspen goes into heat, and upon their official claiming that the first Princes and Princesses of the Court are on their way. This also includes the bastard litter between Charley and Heartha.
Charley officially changes his name to Alder, to fit his new life and all the other changes he's made.
Alder's bastard kids don't end there, however: Potema's children do not have a clear father, and he likely won't ever see her again, but Honey on the other hand has only mated with Alder.... And she's without a doubt pregnant. He tells her to keep quiet about this, but intends to care for the litter as best he can.
