Itreker was born in an unsanctioned union between the enchantress of The Wild Hunt: “Kestrel” and the Jarl of Odinn's Cove: Vali Eitrisson. As the Hunt's völva, most revered, sacrosanct and beautiful she was to always remain untouched: her children would be those that bore the gift to commune with the Gods. The enchantress had been a guest in Odinn's Cove when her first heat cycle had come upon her and unprepared the enchantress found that she could not ward off the powerful and hungry Jarl's advances. She gave herself over to the unholy temptation and two months later bore a litter of five into the world, hidden in a secluded cave away from the curious and prying eyes of the Hunt's wolves upon her return to them. Freyja and Frigga in their wrath demanded in the enchantress' dream that she was to slay them all except for the one they called “myrkrið” — the dark: the outlier of his siblings, the one that looked like none of them. Yet, a mother's love had already stolen the enchantress' heart and two unnamed children had been stillborn saving her the agony of ending their lives. She named myrkrið and against the Goddesses wishes named and kept alive two others aside. They died days later, too weak to survive the bitter cold that engulfed them even nestled against their mother's body but it was known to the enchantress as retribution for her disobedience.

Itreker was taken from the enchantress as she returned to her role as sacred leader to the Wild Hunt when he was old enough and raised by the Hunt as a whole, knowing his story. He was allowed limited contact with his mother: allowed to speak to her only when he wished to commune with the Gods. Eventually, he left the Hunt and spent some time in Odinn's Cove, his relation to it's Jarl unknown but wandered back to the Hunt when his father was slewn in battle by Gyda Lodbrok: a daughter of his uncle Ragnar whose name had always been revered upon the lips of the Cove wolves.

For his own devices he departed The Hunt again and made his way to the Teekon Wilds.
