His mother was left with-child after a brief fling with an unknown maverick and left to birth alone. Aurelius arrived in early spring when the days were still cold and hunting was precarious. His littermates came still-born and the entire litter was deemed an accident by the bitter coywolf. She ate the remains of his brothers and sisters, and abandoned Aurelius, unnamed and starving, whom was soon taken in by a rag-tag band of coyotes known as the Scythia Monroli.

He was first assigned to the role of band captive, prohibited to contribute due to his young age. He was later taken in by an infamous coyote mother, Jista, whom crowned him Hugo and raised him as one of her own. Coyote society meant very little to his underdeveloped mind and so was unaware of the subtle changes that lead to his comrades finding faith in him and so promoting him to The Praised.

This high life was short lived, for a bloody battle with an intrusive pack of wolves, widely known as Aurum Keep left the band beaten and scattered. The alpha spared Aurelius' life, for he knew he was young and not one with the coyotes. He was later adopted in to the family's current litter as Aurelius, the matriarch being Sika, and patriarch, the alpha Rhovanion.

He and his sister Cynthia developed a strong bond and rose from the carefree months of puppyhood together into an assortment of adult ranks, trained and mentored by Rhovanion about the basics of wolf society and war-like skills. Aurelius excelled greatly in this and was promoted to Gamma a few months after his 1st birthday following a week-long hunting expedition with his older siblings.

Though happy with his life and his array of achievement, Aurelius was not satisfied. He was on a constant search for answers; why him and Cynthia looked nothing alike, why he had a taste for rodents until these maddening questions drove him to depart the Keep and travel west until he enters Teekon Wilds via a mountain range.
