Miyax was born to the alpha Strong Jaw and his partner, Karpok. She was raised within the safety of the pack by her older siblings as well as her paternal uncle, Salmon Tongue. While she did lose two of her siblings early on in life, she does not remember either of them clearly; she does, however, have a healthy fear of both cliffs and birds of prey.

Despite being very happy to run with her family within her natal pack, she was driven out by her more dominant brother Bearberry, and then crossed the mountains by pledging herself to the welcoming alpha of a neighboring pack, Foxtail. They saw something within one another that resulted in a sense of companionship, although after some time among Foxtail's pack Miyax was once more driven out — this time by a rival female intent on earning breeding rights.

She briefly crossed through the Teekon Wilds but could not find a place for herself, and departed again. Some time later she came across her biological mother and her new mate, and was welcomed among them.

Miyax was content to be a guardian to her new half-siblings. Unfortunately, there were complications concerning her mother Karpok. When her mother passed it caused some issues in the small family pack, with Grizzly Bones attempting to replace Karpok with Miyax. She helped for a time but grew impatient with his behavior and dispersed by summer.

In the spring of 2018 she came across a small gathering of wolves. Miyax was attracted to one of the resident males. He was younger than her, and more aloof in nature than most males she'd encountered. They hunted together on numerous occasions, and were rarely out of sight of the other. When Miyax's heat came she expected him to approach her (even though he was not the resident leader) and when he didn't, she grew antagonistic (especially of other females) until finally dispersing from the pack.
