Profile of Quetzalli: Details
Appearance
She is a thin, lithe wolf that bears the typical scattered timber coat of a mexican wolf. Her back is topped with black, scattered here and there with red and brown. Her sides fade to a pale red-tan, and her belly fades further into a cream. The red of her sides is repeated on the top of her head, covering both ears as well as coloring around her eyes and the bridge of her nose. The sides of her muzzle, and around her mouth up onto her cheeks is the white cream of her belly.

Her eyes are a bright and lively green that deepens to a shade of cyan around the pupil.
Personality
Quetzalli is a wolf often taken by whimsy. She likes to imagine that things are better than they are, and because of this she often fails to consider other possible outcomes than the ones she desires. She could be called reckless, though she would deny it. Her parents always told her that she was like a feather on the wind, that it took only the breath of a thought to move her. Though she likely should have taken some of that to heart, she instead considered it a compliment and strives to be that way. This, in turn, fuels the fire of her whimsy and the fallible nature of her decision making.

Occasionally she decides to do something just because she can, either forgetting or completely ignoring the consequences. She is not a cruel creature, in fact she generally bears a cheerful disposition and is happy to talk. She can be called unreliable, though she would also disagree with this.

Despite her flaws, she is a smart and intelligent woman. She is quick on her feet and a decent tactician when her mind is not seized by her latest fancy. She would agree that she often has her head in the clouds, but also does not find that to be a bad thing despite the occasional trouble she encounters for it.
Biography
Born into the Azteca, Quetzalli was brought up on superstition and rituals. She did not receive her name until her parents and the emperor had assessed her. When her eyes gained their color, she was considered to be blessed by the Quetal bird, for it had given the color of it's feathers to her eyes. From this she was named Quetzalli, meaning precious or, more literally quetzal feather. Though her eyes made her a meaningful contender, she was not chosen for the vemana, or virgin sacrifice, as she neared her second year.

It was not long after the vemana that her parents began to pressure her to grow up and stop behaving like a child. (For example, she may have tasks set out for her by the emperor but she would instead find a bird and follow it. She had to be rescued many times from a jaguar or some other predator when a foolish plan left her in danger.) The emperor was becoming increasingly displeased with her behavior as well, saying that it was not right for a woman blessed to behave in such a way.

From this, her parents and the emperor developed a plan that she would be one of his new wives. The emperor had many wives, but only one of which was his Queen. There was a possibility that should his current queen die, Quetzalli would succeed her if she produced good children and was a faithful and hard working wife. This pleased and flattered her parents, but left her with a sour taste in her mouth. The emperor was an old wolf, but so well protected by loyal servants (also called: children of his many wives) that none had succeeded in overthrowing him.

Before she could be wedded to him through the proper ritual, she fled her home and her parents. Though she had never before considered such a thing, the idea came and she left no sooner than it entered her head. Though living as a loner was hard, she found that it suited her much more. She was able to follow her wishes without consequence to anyone but herself. She fled north, fleeing her past and the dangerous predators that lurked near her home.

She continued to travel for a while, never content to stay in one place. The idea would always strike her that she should keep going and so she would. Entering the Teekon, she thought that perhaps, for once, she should try to stay. And so she has.

This character is to serve as a kind of experimental challenge for me. I want to randomize many aspects of playing her, as far as decision making goes. Most decisions will likely be made with a dice roll, or a coin flip. As of right now, that will not include the possibility of death, though other consequences will be what they will be.

I'm unsure exactly how well the experiment will work, but I want to push myself to stick to it. Hesitantly I say that not all decisions will be chance, to avoid the possibility of death. But, who knows. This does not mean that she isn't a serious character though, I will give her just as much time and effort as any other. She'll just be, as her personality warns, rather reckless and prone to fancy.
