A child of just one year, Andronika has yet to properly grow into her body, presenting the world with a thin, long legged, gangly looking teen. Her physique is slim, and even when she has properly grown into her features, it will remain that way. She is a wolf built for elegance and speed, giving her a possible future as a skilled huntress. For now though, her tiny paws still seem too big for her body, and her legs look far to long in proportion with everything else, making her awkward and clumsy. She bares a narrow face, with a long, pointed muzzle and angular eyes, colored in a pale greenish blue. Her fur is pale in coloration, consisting of variously shaded creams, silvers, greys, and touches of brown, and is quite long all over her body, particularly on her cheeks, chest, and tail. Whereas her fur used to be well groomed and silky, it has since become a lot rougher and disheveled since setting out on her own, making her look a bit dirty.

Pre-Birth
The Meronique Kingdom had been one of the most renowned packs of the region during it's prime. Large in numbers, established on an almost perfect piece of land in terms of prey and weather, and known for churning out intelligent, well bred wolves, the residents easily carried themselves with pride when acknowledging their origins.

The royal family's blood dated all the way back to the establishment of the kingdom, and had always been kept pure. The citizens were never upset with the monarchy since all of the leaders went by tradition and ruled in the same fashion nearly every dynasty. However, when Andronika's grandfather Marquis came into power, things began to drastically change.

He was an ambitious young wolf, and was tired of the same old traditions being carried out every generation; he sought to break free of the mold. His first decree as ruler was to heavily expand the borders, pushing them as far as was possible without running into trouble. He also wanted larger pack numbers, much larger, so he made it a law that males were legally permitted to have two extra mistress, and all females were required to produce at least two litters in their lifetime. As you could imagine, the second set of laws displeased quite a few, not only disrupting the way life had been for many years, but imposing laws that were obscene in general. Initially, being used to a fair leader, the wolves protested, voicing their disdain and even going as far as to refuse following the laws. All hoped Marquis would listen to reason... but he did not.

Instead, he was outraged by the disobedience, and eventually ended up sending out guards to silence the protesters. Things weren't meant to get too violent, but one thing lead to another, and eventually a few wolves got killed, shocking and terrifying the entire kingdom. No King had ever murdered his own people before, and no King had ever refused to listen to reason like this. Uncertain of how the handle the change, the obedient citizens submitted to his will and ceased protesting.

After taking time to lick their wounds, the people gathered away from the prying eyes of Marquis and concocted a plan. Those who opposed the laws would move to the new territory that had recently been claimed, to create a new camp. This wasn't an act of retaliation and wasn't meant to sever the kingdom; they just wanted to get far enough away that they could do what they pleased without risk of execution.

Of course, as you could assume, this did end up splitting the kingdom. Those in the new territories began to grow closer in mind and more distant from those left behind, including the Royal Family. They began to progressively grow more independent, being able to lead themselves just fine and having everything they needed without ever going back. Furious, Marquis sent out wolves to fetch them, order them to come return, but all he got in return was a battalion of injured guards.

This went on for some time, the King constantly sending wolves to the new territory, but never getting his way. By now, he'd already had a mate and children, including his son Amadeus, who was fiercely loyal to his father and would wrinkle his nose in disgust at the actions of the lost pack members. Even Amadeus had been married by now, having been betrothed to a well bred female named Mongolia at a young age.

Eventually, the wolves that were sent over got a bit too aggressive, and this was all it took for the rebels to fight back. They killed off the guards sent over, and came straight for the old territory. In his obsession to squash this rising problem. Marquis had never realized just how many wolves had actually deserted him until it was too late. He was incredibly outnumbered when the onslaught came, and as you could imagine, did not survive.

Whoever else may have survived is unknown to this day; all that matters in this story is that Amadeus and Magnolia managed to escape. They fled for their lives, escaping the Meronique Kingdom just before it was completely taken over by the rebels.

Very proud of their status and heritage, the two were furious about being thrown from power, so they planned to start the Meronique Kingdom anew with an entirely new territory, albeit not too far from the old one.

The first step was birthing a litter to serve as a foundation.

Puphood
Due to the harsh loner conditions and stress during pregnancy, Magnolia only birthed one pup, whom was named Andronika after one of the more important female figureheads in the Old Meronique Kingdom's history. She was coddled by Magnolia, nurture and well cared for while Amadeus would fetch food and tend to the future kingdom.

Seeing how her entire purpose was to be the stepping stone of a great new age, Nika was taught her importance from the first day she was old enough to comprehend it. She would hear all the stories of her ancestors, including that of Marquis, though his story was glorified due to bias. She was to always know the importance of her blood and reputation, and promised that once the kingdom was rebuilt, she'd have wolves tending to her every need and bowing at her paws. It was what they should do; she was a Meronique!

Aside from heritage and legacy, she was taught about politics and proper mannerisms, being taught politeness and dignity. She was to be a well behaved young lady, with proper speech and eloquent behavior, but at the same time should never bow to others or let them put her down, for she was far better than those peasants.

She rarely ever left the den, and when she did, it would be to explore the territory with her parents. The point of the explorations weren't to satisfy her child like wonder either; as a future Queen, she needed to know every inch of her kingdom. This trips would always entice her, making her wonder what was just beyond the borders, but her parents never told her, so she figured she wasn't supposed to know.

Of course, as you could assume, she was an incredibly spoiled child, having mommy dearest groom her goat every night and delicately prepare her meals, long past the age she should've been doing it for herself. She was never taught how to hunt or defend herself, for a lady of royalty would have servants to do that for her.

Recent
Around the age she was one year old, her father had decided he was nearly satisfied with the size of the territory. In her childhood, he had constantly been away, expanding and marking turf, making sure all knew who it belonged to, and he was almost done. With expanding, that is. Of course, by this time, still being rather close to the Old Meronique Kingdom, his final intent was to bring his turf all the way up to their borders, not intending to invade, but to shove his scent markers in their face and show who was still around. Perhaps no the most intelligent idea, but bare in mind his need for vengeance had been festering ever since the day he was chased out. It didn't seem like too much.

So, one day he set out to do just as he planned. Instead of leaving to do it himself, however, he wanted Mongolia to come along as well. It would make a bigger impact if they both left scent markers. Besides, Nika was old enough to be left alone now, and this wasn't the first time her parents had left to do things without her. They assured they'd be back by sundown, so their obedient daughter waited.

And waited.

It had been long past sundown when she started to get worried, but having full faith in her parents, she tucked herself away in the den and simply fell asleep, assuming she'd wake up to the sound of her mother's paws shuffling into the den.

Morning came, and still no sign of her parents. Their scents weren't even fresh anymore, so she knew they hadn't come back and left again. Deciding it had been too long, she figured she'd go find them. Perhaps they fell asleep on the borders, maybe even went for a morning stroll. She was a big girl now; they could do as they liked without telling her. Still, she set off to find them.

Approaching the borders, the shifting wind brought the horrible metallic scent of blood to the yearling, and all was eerily still... She went faster.

Once at the borders, the first thing she saw, partially hidden in the underbrush, was the mangled corpse of her mother, bringing the yearlings mind to a halt entirely. Not too far from her was her dead father, looking just as horrible. The thick scent of strangers was all over them, but she need not wonder who they were; it was the exact same scent that floated over from the Old Menorique Kingdom.

The shocked she wolf just stood there, staring at them. She was oddly numb to pain, her brain having no full comprehended the situation. It wasn't until a gust of wind brought the fresher scent of strangers towards her that she turned and ran... She ran away from her home, beyond the borders, and just kept running...

Relations
Family
Magnolia Meronique (Biological Mother; positive)
"Certainly the more nurturing of the two, my mother was my primary caregiver and nurturer. Not that father didn't care of course; my mother just made it her task, while he handled more of the teachings and discipline. I spent every night curled up next to her, and every evening being thoroughly groomed by her with a carefully prepared meal at my paws, usually rabbit. She was never emotion or dramatic, always so calm and regal looking. Her smiles were rare, but I could see them in her eyes, especially when she would whisper to me about all the things I'd have when I grew up... I seem to have inherited her coat, and she said she looked just like me when she was my age, so probably her body too."

Amadeus Meronique (Biological Father; positive)
"Father. He never seemed to be around much, always being at a distance, observing something or tending to the territory, but he was still faithful to us. Similar to mother, he was a stoic wolf, but much colder than she... his eyes never smiled, and his voice was always so mechanical. Still, he loved us in his own way, and I never doubted that. When I was old enough, he was the one to teach me about the world, like the trees and the prey and the stars... and he always had such good stories to tell about our ancestors. He was wise. Of course, I knew better than to get on his bad side... he was violent, but he could be terrifying when upset. Needless to say, I learned that the hard way. Physically, he was very tall and skinny, and I inherited my eyes from him."
